I do I think it has more to do with water temperature. They don't do that in the winter, but I don't know for sure. Ice'm and eat'm.
  2. I like to eat, but I will let some go....sometimes
  3. I would have been doing some fast back trolling.
  4. Salt water ?
  5. That is pretty bad when you are catching more walleye than you can eat. I guess you just throw them back for tomorrow. No really I think it's great that way there will be some for me. Conservation and all that stuff.
  6. Next to walleye that is my favorite fish, that is a nice one !
  7. Some of us should get together for a OAF cook out, and fishing day.
  8. Very nice !
  9. Very nice ! Fish tacos !
  10. Thanks, I am thinking of throwing a cast net at some of these for walleye bait. Maybe I will get a state record. Speaking of record... just for the record my friend Steve caught this common shiner while we were fishing together.
  11. I think it is some kind of chub. Caught from Shoal Creek. I have never seen one !
  12. I thought that I had seen every fish in the creek, but what is this chub like fish. A friend of mine caught this while we were fishing, he caught two right in a row.
  13. If you don't know how your gun shoots, you should not be hunting with it. If I am hunting I only shoot to kill, I have already done my practicing else where. Some folks are weird to me.
  14. What a great catch !
  15. I agree, I know what will work where I fish. I carry a small case with a handful of lures, that I tie to myself with a shoe string or carabiner or whatever, my favorite creek fishing pole, and good luck hat, and I am off. I almost always have to hike in, I love the inner tube full of stuff idea, but that would not work for me. I like simple creek fishing that is why I do it. Each to his own, good luck !
  16. Sounds like some good eating, most of the weird stuff cooks out
  17. Try to target walleye, that will really work on your ego. I could catch those things at will all summer even on TR. Then January came bang they are gone. Just caught my first one Saturday since January. I feel blessed that I can even afford to go to the lake. Just do what you do and enjoy being out there.
  18. I googed it and you are not the only one to see this. No explanation was given, but they are spawning right now, maybe bed maintenance or buoyancy. I have never heard of it before. Did they have eggs? I am thinking they were all males???
  19. I bought a couple speed spools and love them. They are both 6.2:1 which is a little fast, but it makes me slow down, I am using 10lb Spider wire stealth braid, I never was a spider wire fan but I like this stealth braid pretty well.
  20. Tournament partner?? Nice work !
  21. Yep slime, on my lures, slime go away, Were are the zebra mussels when you need them ? I will live with the slime. Zebra mussels stay away.
  22. Yep what hunter53 said. I let a lot out, more than what you need.
  23. Zoom Green pumpkin seed magnum finesse, or electric plum, in that order. Or cut the magnum in 1/2 and make a ned
  24. Ok I have a story.... When I was in my 20's I fished the upper James river a lot mostly for catfish. One night I was running my trotlines, my favorite line was between two stumps on the edge of bluff. the bluff came up out of the water about 2 feet and then back towards the bank about 5 feet then straight up a rock wall for at least 50 ft. To be clear this made a ledge that was elevated 2 ft above the water and was 5 ft deep. You could not get to it but only by boat. It was a cool full moon night well after dark, I was using an old sealed beam head light for a spot light. as I was nearing my line I noticed that the ledge that my trotline was hanging from looked weird.I picked up my home-made spot light to see what was going on... and man I have never seen that many snakes in my life ! I don't know how long that ledge was, but as far as my light could see it was wall to wall snakes. I would guess that the cool temps and warm rocks made for great snake habitat. At least they were kind enough to sleep were no one can walk. I did get my catfish from the line and as I remember a couple turtles. I fished that same place many times after that, but never saw that phenomenon again.
  25. That is funny, monkeys?? no clowns they are scary!
