I think she meant at Meanmouth... regardless, thanks for the post and descriptive image of a spot.

The maps are old but still accurate. Snapp is above K Dock about 2 miles on the right.
-
Where were they? In brush, on the bank or out suspended on a flat? Did you get the water temp?
-
You should be able to catch fish on a straight jig... I wouldn't shy away from it, especially if that's what you like to do. It'll probably catch bigger trout too. Go with 1/16th using 2 pound like. Colors - who know. Duane's been doing ok off the dock with white lately - that's just shouldn't be... I'd stick with dark colors- with light combos like sculpin/ginger.

They have been running a little water the last couple of days... not sure why. Yesterday it was most of the day. Was able to get to the cable easliy but the wind was tough and I only landed a few smallish rainbows. You can get to lookout with the water off but that's it. Might try micro jigs and/or a Zebra midge under a float. You'll do well. Good fish above Fall Creek. Babler has said he's had 100 fish days up there lately, with clients. Use 2 pound line though, esp with smaller jigs/flies.

i've been bad about reports... mainly because I haven't been fishing much and conditions/catching hasn't changed much in the past couple of months. Generally, it's been very good this winter. Very little generation. Of course mild so lots of anglers. But there's wading below the dam and even throughout the trophy area so that's taken a little pressure of boat traffic I think. The feds (Neosho) have been stocking lately, putting them in below the Landing and yes they are small rainbows. That would be the #1 complaint... catching all the little 9-10 inchers but there are some good ones out there. Had 2 groups today said their biggest was a 17 and a 18 inch rainbow, respectively. They were fishing bait below Fall Creek. How were you planning on fishing? Fly? Spin? Jigs? Bait? Boat? Wade?

They are schooling is various areas of the lake, some close to the mouths of spawning creeks, some out in random places. Doty found a huge school yesterday close to Snapp but they weren't there today! If you find any, let us know!

OA One Bass Tournament CANCELLED/Reschedule

Any date you pick, some will have conflicts. But there will be others that will come that couldn't this Saturday. It'll balance out. -
There's no gages down there. No way to know unless you talk to someone who's fished and knows it.
-
No. Just remember the special regulations up there.
-
Sounds fun. Kinda like the Table Rock One Bass... but we fry up the winning fish!!

World class fisheries... we're so blessed! -
Go to the boat ramp below the dam and throw jigs, small jerk baits, a spoon. You can also cast a fly rod there- jig and float. It's a good spot.

MDC offers new Permit Card for hunters, anglers, and trappers New plastic Permit Card can be customized and offers option to paper and electronic permits. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Beginning April 1, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) will offer Missouri hunters, anglers, and trappers its new Permit Card as an additional way of carrying and showing proof of most related permits. The new plastic cards are another option to MDC’s paper and electronic permits. As new permits are purchased and old ones expire, the updated information is automatically accessible through the one-time-purchase cards. Conservation agents can scan users’ cards to verify active permits. Permit Card buyers can customize their cards by selecting from four nature-inspired background images: bass, buck, mallard duck, or bluebird. Permit users can buy the new Permits Cards for a one-time fee of $2 online at mdc.mo.gov/buypermits, from permit vendors around the state, or through the MDC MO Hunting and MO Fishing free mobile apps. Buyers will get a confirmation document at the time of purchase and the plastic Permit Card will be mailed to buyers. Permit Card purchasers must sign the back of the card to validate it as a form of proof of permit. Cardholders can verify their active permits online at mdc.mo.gov/buypermits, through permit vendors around the state, through MDC’s MO Hunting or MO Fishing mobile apps, or by contacting an MDC regional office. Because of permit-notching requirements and Telecheck steps required for deer and turkey hunting permits, the new Permit Card cannot be used as a form of permit proof for deer and turkey hunting. The new Permit Card cannot be used as proof of daily trout tags at trout parks so anglers will still need to purchase and wear their daily trout tags. The new Permit Card cannot be used to show possession of a Federal Duck Stamp so waterfowl hunters must still carry the document verifying the purchase of a Federal Duck Stamp or the actual stamp. The new Permit Cards do not replace commercial permits and lifetime permits, which must be purchased through the Department’s Permit Services Unit by calling 573-751-4115. The new MDC Permit Card replaces the Department’s existing Heritage Card and new Heritage Cards will no longer be issued. Existing Heritage Cards will still be valid for hunter-education verification, purchasing permits and discounts, but will not be legal as a permit. As with the MDC Heritage Card, Permit Card holders receive a 15% discount on merchandise purchased at MDC facilities and through the Department’s online Nature Shop at mdcnatureshop.com. MDC Hunter Education graduates will receive Permit Cards instead of the discontinued Heritage Card at no additional cost. Buyers of MDC’s new plastic Permit Card can customize their cards by selecting from four nature-inspired background images: bass, buck, mallard duck, or bluebird.

Just saw this thread. I welcome suggestions! Am always looking for ways to make this better. Wish I had the time to put in on the whole site... I hit it in spurts. The content side of this - within the forum format - isn't working very well. I think one of the last updates zapped it. I haven't had time to message anyone... I think it will cost me some $$$ to get it fixed anyhow. I always thought when I "retire" I'd do this full time. Fish, take pics and post.

This guy is doing his own fishing show... good for him!

New Boating Attraction On Taney Safe?

There's going to be something in the Branson paper. They got my take on it... sounds like it may be a done deal. http://bransonjetboats.com/ -
Lilleys' Landing will host a benefit tournament for C.A.M. on Saturday, April 8th here on Lake Taneycomo. Christian Action Ministries is a local food bank providing food for families who are in need of a hand-up. From their website: Each year Christian Action Ministries food pantry distributes tens of thousands of pounds of food and grocery products to hungry and needy people in our community. Last year CAM provided 625,000 lbs of food. This distribution process is made possible by companies in the food and grocery industry and individuals who regularly donate surplus, distressed, and damaged food and grocery items to us so we may help those Taney county families who need it most. C.A.M. serves over 1,000 families per month on average. C.A.M. also guides people to other service ministries in Taney County, dealing with finances, job training and counseling. ~~TOURNAMENT FORMAT~~ Time: Start 8 am and check in at 2 pm. Lilleys' Landing will provide fish rulers to be returned after the contest. We will also provide a small notepad and pen to write each measurement to each individual. EACH TROUT caught will be scored. Note: All trout regardless of species or legality. In another words, brown trout less than 20 inches will be scored, as well as rainbow trout caught in the trophy area that measure between 12 and 20 inches. All trout MUST be released immediately, after being measured. Scoring is by measuring each trout caught by placing the fish in the measuring tray with the nose against the head of the rule. You may pinch and/or swing the tail. Length will be scored up to the half-inch. If a trout is 14-1/8th inch, it's scored 14.5 inches. Each measurement will be written down in the notepad provided along with the time it was caught. Also initial R for rainbow or B for brown trout. At "weigh-in", notepads will be turned in for tally. All measurements will be added by the tournament director and a total length will be the angler's final score. SCORE - The total of the lengths of all trout caught and recorded is the final SCORE of each contestant. If you catch 48 trout, the length of all 48 combined is the final score. Ties will be broken by the longest fish, second longest and so on. Tournament fee is $25 per person. Prizes will be given to the top 3 finishers. All proceeds from entries will go to C.A.M.. Other rules- All contestants will fish from a boat OR from Lilleys' Landing's dock. No wading will be allowed. There is no limit to how many anglers can fish out of a boat. It is an individual contest and each angler measures and scores his or her own trout. Each boat will have one measurement ruler. This is an artificial only fishing tournament. No live bait is allowed. No scented or soft plastic baits are allowed. No Powerbait or corn is allowed. No chumming will be allowed. All Missouri Department of Conservation rules apply. We are looking for sponsors. We would ask sponsors to donate product and/or merchandise gift cards for the winners. Lilleys' Landing will provide a nice meal to contestants and spectators after the tournament.

Tough fishing today for most. No one ran away with it... very close in team place and big rainbow. No legal browns caught.
