  1. Looks like we're in for an unusual summer fishing season here on Lake Taneycomo.  Normally this time of year, the lakes above us are pretty full.  They are not this spring because of a lack of big rains and the fact that the Corps has stayed on top of the rising lakes and kept them close to power pool. Today the schedule says no generation all day except for an hour of "fish water", a burst of current for about an hour this evening.  This probably will be the generation pattern at least through this holiday weekend. Docks and banks will be lined with anglers with the ideal conditions for still fishing.  And the fly rods have come out and are poised to fish things under an indicator like micro jigs, scuds and midges. With the big numbers of catch and release trophies recorded the last few months, it seems there are a lot of big trout to be caught in our lake.  With the water off, it may be easier for the novice fisherman to catch one of these.  We had 2 20-inch plus rainbows caught off the dock just yesterday, both released.

  3. I thought about that. I appreciate the offer.
  4. I've turned ads off till I figure it out.
  5. We can get them but you have to order on Mondays.
  6. There's 3 designated areas I can place ads - header, footer and in posts. I disabled the post ads. See if that makes a difference.
  7. That started after this last update. I went in and looked at the "advertising" settings and they haven't changed, or at least I haven't changed them in probably years. I need to go to the invision forum and see what others are saying. Maybe there's a way to cut down on them. They keep growing in numbers but I don't see an increase in revenue. It's dropped actually while hosting charges increase.
  8. @Quillback I'm confused... is the OA outing tomorrow on or off?
  9. Nice!
  10. If you have a grill, I'll bring salmon
  11. Bill is also taking his son Steven.
  12. Man, there’s a new thought process at the Corp office. “Keep Table Rock below power pool at all cost!!” What happen to “water is gold” “running water over the spill gates is waisting resources” ? Don’t get me wrong… adding a little food to the upper end for a day or so? Yes!! Our big trout get even bigger. The high flow kicks up the bottom, cleans the moss out, kicks up sculpins and scuds making everything great. And I guess in a day or so- back to low flows and periods of no generation? Makes sense. Another day in the life of a tailwater. I just wish we had caddis like the White River.
  13. https://www.weather.gov/sgf/lake_levels Says TR at 917.18 feet. Looks to be current.
  14. Worth all the online gage down, does anyone know what the level is? They’re opening gates at the dam this morning. Running water “till the lake level drops to 917” but it’s hard to know how long when you don’t know the present level.
  15. @Al Agnew will know!
  16. They always make a pretty picture!
  17. There ya go..... they knew you were coming!
  18. Sorry no one commented. I don't live down there but I do watch the trends of all the White River Lakes. I'd think BS and NF dams will continue flows till the levels are close to or at power pool. Watch those levels and you can get an educated guess at future flows.
  19. I hired Lance to take me and my 2 grandsons out fishing Sunday mid day on Beaver. I've been wanting to meet and fish with Lance for a while. We had a great time. I've only spider rigged once and that was in Mississippi on Lake Granada. That's a lot of work!! But effective. We caught quite a few crappie even though we'd have a very old night and Sunday was a bright sunny day. I'd recommend Lance to anyone!
  20. They did the same on Table Rock. Now if we have a dry summer, it will get very interesting.
  21. It makes no sense even without considering what the Corps said. Why keep one lake so high while dumping the rest. I can’t remember the last time Table Rock was below 915 in April!
  22. Went fishing with my friend Richard Marks yesterday. He's been on the crappie for weeks and assured me we'd catch a few. I met him at the ramp at Cricket at 11:30 am. I had my doubts.... high sun but some wind. Not the best conditions. We went to the mouth of Yoccum. 14-18 foot of water, 60 degree surface. He turned on the Livescope. We targeted crappie throwing either a 1/32nd ounce Lilley's jig or a Garland's bait. Richard caught them pretty good - he was on the scope and I threw where he threw. They were suspended 4-6 feet deep and were in groups of 2 and 3, but they were active and aggressive. We ended at 14 nice keepers and quit at 3.
