We went out with JR Waits yesterday. Fish call charters. Isle of Palms SC. Real professional guiding for 25 years. Not a bite for 4 hours and he said the tide will change again and hopefully they turn on. We talked to a guy at the marina who said they didn’t get a bite yesterday. The next hour and a half it was on. We had 17 plus a ray in the boat with one double hook up and a bunch bites and early releases. Great day!!! Wife had the numbers and big fish. We ate at Acme low country kitchen per @evilcatfishand it was the best food of the trip! We haven’t cooked a meal in a week so that is saying something.

I dumped a 99 Yukon due to electrical issues. Doors and door locks. My neighbor has a 2019 vette that won’t lastch the trunk/engine compartment. He’s had it to 3 dealers and a retired GM service tech. Nobody can fix it. It’s stuck open with constant warning bell. Computers and electronics are great... when they are working correctly. Goes back to @fishinwrenchwanting a stripped down model without all the gadgetry.

It looked high to me when we crossed it. Water in tree line and murky. But I don’t have any reference. I plan to come back and try it and go up into pigeon if it’s doable. Every fish I hooked went airborne. It was awesome!

Btw, it was an oil change maintenance light because the dealer didn’t reset it last week.

Went back this morning at daylight to get a couple more hours in before we leave for Charleston. Went to what I thought was the best section. Only 4 taps. Then figured out why. The drift boats showed up. Apparently it’s below the last barrier to floating all the way to the French broad. Headed back upstream and was on them immediately. Only took pictures of two nice ones. Both around 17”s. Great fishing again. I’ll be back next weekend on the way back. But staying In gatlinburg.

Dogwoods are in full bloom. First time here. It’s beautiful.

Brand new 4Runner with 10200 miles on it. Just had the dealer oil change and service Monday.

We stopped here on the way to Charleston to break up the drive. I didn't start fishing until 10:30 and still whacked em! I had on muck boots and was able to fish everywhere. I started catching small 12'ers right off the bat and when I found they were in the faster water it was on. Biggest was right at 16's and I quit counting at 15 or so. I left them biting and had a blast. I have a redfish guide scheduled in Charleston SC but right now I have an engine light to deal with.
