  1. Just wait till you get to teach them to light firecrackers and other essential life skills. Like skipping soft plastics, knocking down a nine iron, when to press and double hauling a fly rod. Pete
  2. Both are beauties. I expected no less. Independent Scott is dead my friend. Enjoy!!!! My youngest, 12 years old, cleans her own bathroom and does laundry, vacuums, dishes and is starting to cut grass. I'm old school. The neighbors think I'm nuts for putting the kids to work. You know, it's kind of a bonding experience when you teach them to take of themselves. Pete
  3. Yeah I know Rick. They block it at her work. Pete
  4. You can always step up Smallie. Tell your wife you're the man of the house and you'll be there when you get there. And have dinner ready too. That's what I did. Pete
  5. Ahh children. So what are you selling? Boats, rods, reels, what???? Hey it only lasts like 15 years and you'll be back at it. Pete
  6. I'm sure Phil will chime in. I saw on the Tablerock forum that guys reported temps in the high 50's with a few near 60. So in that regard we should be okay below the dam wouldn't you think? Pete
  7. Stop it FT, You're me cracking up. SIO3
  8. Hey Rick There was a post a while back showing divers cleaning dead catfish off the intake grate for the hatchery and it was pretty deep. Phil will know for sure. Pete
  9. I was trying to type a reply but one of my fingers fell off this mornign into my cereal. You know what I always say "good eatin if you can get enough of em" Pete
  10. Words hurt, you know!!! Pete
  11. If he gets ten years he'll be out in as little as 2 years.
  12. Uh oh!!! Too late.
  13. It looks like it's 931 right now on the graph. Wow!! SIO3
  14. Not there this time but was there two years ago when they shut er down. The main reason they told us, was the bridge to get over to the campground side of the river. If it goes out you can't get out. Pete
  15. Sorry FT. I don't have anything to do since my golf tourney got cancelled today. I have a chance to go fishing next weekend but with all the rivers blown out and The Norfork Dam pumping hot water into the river it doesn't look good. I'm bored!!!! Need fish!! Pete
  16. We have friends in Bridgeton and their garage and living room roofs collapsed. They are shutting down the power and gas and forcing them out. The news said Lambert may be shut down for several days. 50% of the windows in Concourse C are blown out. Pete
  17. It can be difficult to catch crappie of decent size at Busch. I'm usually tight lipped about fishing holes near the Lou but give this a try. http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/applications/moatlas/AreaSummaryPage.aspx?txtAreaID=7901&txtAreaNm=&txtCounty=LINCOLN&txtRegion=&txtUserID=guest&txtDivision= We used to regularly take limits of big crappies out of this slough. We always used minnows on a jig head. We would walk out on the downed trees and hang them minnows in the submerged branches out at the end of the tree. I haven't been there since the 80's so it's not exactly current info but take it for what it's worth. Let us know how you make out. Pete
  18. I don't see a problem with this. It's not like they're trout, they're only bass. SIO3
  19. Cool FT!! I'm glad you called the front, I didn't want to drive anyway. Pete
  20. I'm in. But only Kosher dogs for me. Where the hell is this place anyway? SIO3
  21. Nice!!! That's some good eatin there. SIO3
  22. I believe that if someone interferes or harasses with a person fishing within the banks of a stream or river that has been accessed in any legal manner, including but not limited to a public access administered by the Missouri Department of Conservation, then the harasser/interferer should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. The state of Missouri has laws in place to keep this from happening and yet it still happens all the time. The only way to stop this type of harassment and intimidation is to punish the law breakers. This stream, Shoal Creek, has obviously been deemed navigable by someone in the higher powers of the states government, or the MDC would not have put a public boat launch on the stream in order for the public to navigate it. I, Pete Carnaghi, a resident and taxpayer of the state of Missouri, demand that something be done in order to correct this wrong doing and to insure that it does not happen again.
