  1. In your first post you mention the State Park. It's a great place to camp but a long way to fish anywhere else. SIO3
  2. And don't rely on that too much either. Talk to Gary at Rim, he'll line you out and keep you from drowning while you whackem!!! Have fun and report your success to us. SIO3
  3. Let em go! I just plant em and let em rip. I don't have time to mess with em much. Side benefit is, critters can't get at em either. Turtles will put the hurt on em in a hurry around my house. SIO3
  4. 64 is closed from Kingshighway to 170 due to construction. You can google the shops and see where they are located. SIO3
  5. I know this sounds strange but it works extrememly well. I hang the containers and put the plant in the bottom hole. So it's growing upside down out of the bottom drain hole. The plant comes out the bottom and grows toward the ground. I hang them at least 5 feet above the ground and there is no reason to stake them because they hang out the bottom. Make sure that what you hang them from is stout, because they can get real heavy. Once I started doing it, my neighbors saw how well they did and everyone was doing it the next year. Now I plant basil and oregano in the top and the tomatoe out the bottom. SIO3
  6. You could just look at the USGS water level site pinned to the top of the Current River Section you are posting in. Here it is for you. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site..._cd=00065,00060 SIO3
  7. I'm sorry to hear that Pat. Good luck. My wife and I are both out of work. Not really laid off, there just isn't any business. SIO3
  8. Hi Terry I went to Cancun a few years ago and went out with a guide for baby tarpon on the fly. The bay inside the "7" at Cancun is a tarpon nursery and fish to 50 lbs are common. I took my wife and then 6 year old daughter out for an evening into the night trip and it was awesome. I had a tarpon on for quite a while and when I got it near the boat a very large croc came out of the mangrove to eat it. The guide was stabbing it with a push pole and the croc was snapping his jaws at it. My wife was taking pics and my daughter was screaming bloody murder. We got it in and my daughter was so frightened we couldn't calm her down till we hit dry land. What a trip!!!!!!!! I've caught many saltwater fish but those baby tarpon were unbelievable when hooked. I couldn't imagine a 150 pound mature fish on a 12 weight. cancunlighttackledotcom. BTW, as anywhere in the Gulf, April and May are peak months. Don't forget the surf fishing at dusk and dawn for jacks and barracuda. SIO3

  10. I just drove home and all the ponds out here are frozen, so I don't dee how Busch would be any different. With a high of 27 I say we wait another week and see if we get a thaw. If I get time I'll drive over and see if it's frozen. It may thaw tomorrow but a high in the 20's will harden it up Saturday. SIO3
  11. I was thinking Saturday but the high is only forecast to be 27. Sunday the high is "supposed" to be 40 but I can only get away for a couple hours Sunday. SIO3
  12. Are the lakes frozen? Anybody know? Hey Pat, or anybody else for that matter, I'd think about going this weekend if you want? SIO3
  13. Nice Brian!! Does Tucker know you posted it here before you put it on his site? SIO3
  14. Go to the public access below Tablerock dam near the Shepard of the hills Hatchery. You can't miss it. Fishes the same as The White below Bull. Only with a lot more people to help you. SIO3
  15. Pat I'm pickin up what you're layin down. I smell what you're steppin in. Is that a BWL trout from this year or last? Last year the overall size was much bigger than this years. More than a few years ago they stocked all browns and they were very good size trout for urban fishing. I never had one chance to use that line since I got it. It's not jinxed or something is it? In fact since I got it, we've had record flooding and I couldn't get away to fish like I normally do. You're not a cajun are you? I went through the voodoo shop in the quarter and they got some serious stuff in there. I'll see what's up the next few days and try to make it over there with you. SIO3
  16. Thanks for the report Pat. You say "Mostly stockers." I live out here in St. Charles and go to Busch a lot. Is there anything but stockers in the lakes? I've heard "tails" of big fish, but never saw a pic, or better yet the fish, to prove it. SIO3
  17. Hi thom It looks like you're from my neck of the woods. I haven't decided on Taney or Mountain Home yet. I might not make the call till I get around Rolla tomorrow morning. Good luck. SIO3
  18. Leonard Got it, back at ya. SIO3
  19. I was talking about Fri-Sun. But if I lived anywhere near a trout stream I'd be there tomorrow. After watching my 10 year old open presents and read from an Advent book. Then it would be FISH ON!! Good luck! SIO3
  20. I was wondering if anybody is headed out this weekend trout fishing? I'm thinking of a loner mission to Mountain Home. I can't find anybody willing to go. Sleeping in the truck and fishing all day. Chime in. SIO3
  21. Hey guys I was reading this post and I've got a somewhat related question. Speaking of mothballs, would they leave enough scent behind to put trout off of the fly tied with materials stored in them? In other words, the materials are stored with mothballs, and you tie up a fly, would trout detect it and refuse the fly? My dad has a fly tying bench to give me but it litterally stinks from all the mothballs he has kept in it over many years. Are the materials shot? I wouldn't think it would affect dry flies but the materials used for nymphs would stink of mothballs and trout most certainly would smell it. What about if I threw out all of his stuff, would the remaining smell infect my materials? It's a nice bench but it stinks of mothballs. I appreciate any thoughts. SIO3
  22. I listed this bike on Craigslist but thought, what the heck, I'll list it here too. Would be a great Xmas gift. 20 inch girls bicycle, purple with pink streamers. Bought it last year at the bike shop, not a discount brand. Currently sells for $139.99. It has aluminum wheels and it's very light weight. This is a bike shop quality bicycle. Like new condition, kept in garage, $60.00 Located in St. Charles Mo. SIO3
  23. I work in the seismic protection industry. We manufacture, sell and install base isolation platforms for computer data centers and heavy power equipment around the world. Some companies insist on it, while others take a wait and see attitude. When your dealing with a companies data you would think they would be proactive but some are not. Once the equipment is damaged you not anly lose the equipment but you also lose all the information. Think of a company like Mastercard where they do millions of transactions an hour. Or the human genome project where the data is almost priceless. It just depends on management. One of our biggest customers is a casino operator. I think its funny that a company in the gambling and odds business doesn't take chances betting against earthquakes. At home, the best thing you can do is strap your hotwater heater to wall studs and install flexible gas and water lines to it. All gas appliances should have flexible tubing installed. These two things will save you from fire and water damage. SIO3
  24. I can't wait to see the bigfoot pics!!!! SIO3
  25. How about them St. Louis Rams!!!!
