  1. As usual, thanks for the report John. With all of the lakes at or under pool why do you think they are generating so much? Not only that, it's the way they are generating. I'd like to come down but it doesn't look too inviting to find some low water, SIO3
  2. Thanks guys. Yes I googled them, really can't tell what they are really worth locally. Thanks Gavin, I did that this morning and the vintage guy is off today. It looks like cameras don't bring much money because they made so many. I really just want to get rid of them. If I get enough out of them for a new driver then that's all the better, I'll let you know what happens in case someone else is headed down this road. SIO3
  3. I put this here since it gets the most traffic. I have some old cameras I want to know about. Does anyone know a source where I can get these appraised? Some are very old, the ones where you get under the black sheet to take the pics. Thanks in advance, Snagged.
  4. I agree, I saw it opening weekend of CnR. That was the best area in the park, bar none. SIO3
  5. Fished Parker with a buddy up and down from the access. He caught one nice rainbow on jiggy streamer and I was skunked. We went to the cable and somebody was already there, we left. Went to TanVat and 4 cars were in the lot, left again. Settled in at Baptist with only one car in the lot. The guy was walking out when we stepped in the water. We caught fish all the way down stream to the hard right turn. All bows and nice sized. My buddy stuck with the jiggy streamer and I nymph fished. We left a lot of flies on the bottom throughout the day. No for the amazing part. We are driving out and there is guy fishing at the handicap pier in campground 3, on Thursday!! He had a fish on when we saw him. SIO3
  6. Thanks for the report John. Where is this emergency exit in relation to the parking lot? Snagged
  7. Best fighter, tarpon. Best fighter freshwater, Hybrid Striper, big one, on a nine weight!!! Weirdest, sturgeon out of the mississippi and the next cast a spoonbill. Both caught in the mouth. I've caught about everything that's considered a rough fish on the fly. Drum, Common carp, Asian Carp, Buffalo, shad and gar. Untold numbers of birds, snakes and turtles. Even snagged a muskrat on accident. Coolest, toss up between a 9lb Bonefish and a 29 inch rainbow at McClellans.
  8. Drive 4 hours, suit up, rig rod and hear the the horn blow. Go down to Phil's or wherever and rent a boat. This applies to all of the tailwaters in the White River chain. If you aren't willing to boat-it you better have a plan b. Drive to Crane or Roaring River or play golf or cards. SIO3
  9. Wow Wrench, your an artist!!! Those look great!! SIO3
  10. Thanks guys for saving me trip to Alex G. Is Reed in MO? Actually I'm hoping the weather is nice enough to play golf. There I said it. I like golf better than pond stocked trout. Man it feels good to get that off my chest. SIO3
  11. Very good idea Zip! If in St. Charles Mo (I know it's not a lake destination but you never know) Plaza Tire Service on Old 94 South. 636-939-9494. Snagged
  12. Abel's are nice, but heavy. They are the gold standard in the industry. I've owned many different brands but I love my Lamson Litespeeds!!! Light weight, large arbor and very smooth drags. SIO3
  13. Thanks Dave!! Can you see that park when you are on 435? SIO3
  14. Anybody know of a pond with trout near Stateline and 435 but preferably in Missouri? I'm visiting family for Thanksgiving and might have some time to get out. I'd like to fish in MO so I don't heve to buy a non-resident fishing permit for Kansas. Actually I'll need to get out, it's my inlaws!!! Help a brother out please. SIO3
  15. We have a farm in IL, on the east side of the state and we'll go out with two dogs around Thanksgiving. Brittanys Last year with one dog we shot 8 birds in 4 hours or so. Good luck, and report your success. I will too. Tomorrow it's off to Bennett with the family till sunday. SIO3
  16. I should apologize, I was bored at work and wanted to yank some chains. Seriously, I can't change anything so I roll with the punches like FT57 suggests. I'm a stream fisherman, whether it's smallies or trout first, but I like to bass fish in lakes too. It more depends on the logistics of a fishing trip than anything else. Heck, there isn't much to choose from in the Metro areas anyway. I'll tell you one thing, we have pretty darn good here in southern MO and northern AR. And I'm glad I'm at least near it somemwhat here in St Louis. SIO3
  17. The Post Dispatch ran a story with pictures of coyotes in Tower Grove Park last year. SIO3
  18. I would love to fish the White before the dams were built. I bet it awesome. I think most people who don't like tailwater trout just aren't very good fisherman. They have trouble catching fish and to make themselves feel better they say they don't like it. Like Wayne said they are bigger and wilder and some guys just can't catch big, wild fish. SIO3
  19. Tapawingo has a few hundred running around. Nice shot!! SIO3
  20. I think a couple years ago they found a dead one that was hit by a car in the KC metro area. You could Google it up pretty quick though. SIO3
  21. Santana, clapton, CDB, Stevie, Skynyrd, Beatles, chilly peppers and all of the southern rockers. No old school country though.
  22. No problem RC PM Dano and he'll delete for you. Snagged
  23. I guess I'll step into the line of fire. Why is it impractical? Actually sounds like a good idea to me. SIO3
  24. Sorry, that is correct. I didn't look carefully enough at Cricket's post. SIO3
  25. I feel you Cricket but what about your body hair? Are you going to burn that off too? SIO3
