  1. It it was somebody else you were talking about I would have found that hillarious! SIO3
  2. I wanted a new wading jacket, but last night I had to ask for a new water heater. Maybe next year. SIO3
  3. Nice Wrench! Would you give him a ride, if he caught it in the morning and you were staying to fish the next 5 hours anyway? SIO3
  4. I'm thinkin about a down and back from St. Louis tomorrow. Anybody going to ge down there? SIO3
  5. Come on Chief, quit beatin around the bush, how do you really feel? SIO3
  6. Why not do both? They are only 2 hours or less apart. 1) Both are good but the White has more area to fish. 2) Wait until the lakes are down to power pool so your chances for wading are better. Both locations have very good campgrounds so no problem there. SIO3
  7. Thanks!! As usual you guys are on top of everything, including finger nail polish. SIO3
  8. I remember seeing a post that some people use a glue or finger nail paint to make midges tougher. What does everybody use? I don't use anything. Thanks! SIO3
  9. Nice!!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice!
  10. I haven't chimed in yet but I'll answer the initial question. "Should Money Be Spent On A Put-and-take Trout Lake?" I say yes, especially if it's near me. I found this with one google search. Munch on these facts. http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/ParksandRec/Ac...out_fishing.php No need to thank me, it's what I do. SIO3
  11. I hate those darn things. We need a permanent fix or they will invade every watershed in the country. SIO3
  12. Well the new u joints have dampened the vibration quite a bit but it's not gone. I'm giving up and witing for it to break I guess. That, or it's just something you live with when you have 180k on a vehicle. Thanks for everyone's help. SIO3
  13. Okay, I took it in today to a real good shop. Tranny fluid is "clean enough to drink" and it wasn't torque converter shutter. Wheel bearings are tight but since they are sealed no way to know until one breaks. Replacing the u joints just because they have 180,000 miles on them. The guy spent 2 hours trying to figure it out. Even put it up the rack and drove it. He felt the vibration and at first thought it was a wheel bearing but it wasn't consistent enough while driving to replace them. I'll let you know what happens after I pick it up this afternoon. If it's not the u joints I'll just drive it till it breaks down. SIO3
  14. I tried some without the peacock at all. I don't think a trout can see the top of fly? I didn't notice any difference in catch rates when I tried them side by side. SIO3
  15. Thanks everybody. I have't been able to do anything but drive it, being a holiday weekend. After reading up on u-joints and the rear end I don't think that's the problem. I'm leaning towards the transmission like Crappiefisherman said. I'm going to take of it this week so I'll let you guys know. Thanks, SIO3
  16. Hey now, don't be talkin bad about the Banjo Minnow. I think it was the forerunner to sluggos and flukes? Those types of baits are deadly sometimes. In the dead of summer I live and die by flukes in heavily fished urban lakes and ponds. SIO3
  17. What are you talking about Brian? Do certain lights hurt materials? What kind of materials? SIO3
  18. Thanks Thom, and everyone else. It is now doing it in all gears at low acceleration. I guess it's getting worse, which I hope will make it easier to diagnose. SIO3
  19. Wrench Tach doesn't flutter Does not do it in 3rd, it starts the instant it shifts into OD but not if I'm accelerating pretty hard. Yes I am coasting but accelerating enough to keep it in OD and 40 to 50mph after 50 or so it stops. It's not going in and out of 4th. The vibration is too rapid. No codes or lights Not in auto 4wd. Unlike my wife who drove it around in 4wd low until it cracked the planetary gear . She said "Honey when I turn sharp in the parking lot it was doing something wierd." SIO3
  20. Maybe Laker67 will chime in on this length discussion. He's fished a little in this area . SIO3
  21. Thanks everyone. I also think u-joint at this point in time. But what is the name of the additive you used Thom? Thanks again, I'll let you know what transpires. SIO3
  22. Man that's nice Mike. It's getting to be a rare event to fish low water in AR. Power to the people!! SIO3
  23. Thanks guys. 4WD and it had bilstein shocks that I replaced with sensitrac miles before this showed up.. Stock wheels and tires. Already did the tires, rotated and balanced, they were cupped but it's not that. Had the planetary gear replaced 3 years ago. Checked the heat shield on the exhaust system and the cat converter. Is there a way to check the u-joints on my own in my garage? SIO3
  24. I haven't been able to figure this out so any help would be great. When I get to 40 mph and the transmission shifts into overdrive (4th gear) I get a vibration in the gas pedal. If I accelerate right through 40 to past 50 mph it doesn't do it. It gets really bad if I have to keep my speed anywhere in the 40's. It feels like when you drive over the warning strips on the side of the interstate only not quite as severe. I only feel it in the gas pedal, not the steering wheel. V8, 180K, Automatic. Other than that it runs fine. I won't mention what I've checked so far so as not to influence your thoughts. Unless you guys think I should. Thanks in advance, SIO3
  25. 30 inches is very hard to attain in our tailwaters. I've been fishing Taney, Norfork and The White for 25 plus years and I've had many fish over 25 inches but 30 is tough. I caught a 30 incher a few years ago on the Norfork and it was one of several I had hooked in the same area but the rest broke off. I'm talking fly rods here just to be clear. I consider anything over 25 inches to be real trophy whether from a tailwater or freeflowing river. SIO3
