  1. Nice!!!! That's a true trophy on a fly. They are much harder to fool than a trout. SIO3
  2. Thanks guys, she's very proud. SIO3
  3. You got your wish, They passed a no-smoking law in that community a while back and they had to put out the smokes. SIO2
  4. Winner, winner chicken dinner!!!!!!!!!!!!! By a landslide. The little kids loved it.
  5. Thanks Dano! I got the Hodgmans for $75 so I'll probably keep them no matter what and special order a pair of Simm's. SIO3
  6. Eric, at least you don't have far to fall. I'm 5'10", 210 and size 10.5 to 11 shoe. I looked at Simm's website and they have the same sizes listed for both the Freestones and Headwaters. Can't Touch This!!
  7. Don't get in a fiberglass boat with those studs. SIO3
  8. I had the st charles store order the medium/short in both the freestones and the headwaters. So we'll see if they fit before opening of CnR weekend at Bennett. I ordered the Guidelights from Hodgman, in the same size as the ones I had as a backup plan. Thew the old ones in the dumpster at Quarry Park last Sunday when I left. Can't touch this!!!! SIO3
  9. Then there's that. I was laughing my butt off FT. I was also doing my best MC Hammer dance in the store yesterday thinking of Eric's comment. My daughter ran and hid so nobody would know she was with me. Snagged
  10. Okay. I tried on the Freestones yesterday and they don't fit at all. Legs too long, ride up in my nads and they weren't big enough for winter wear. My problem is, I wear size 11 shoes so I need the larger size to fit my feet. Yet the rest of the wader is too big. I'll try Erics way. I really want Simms but what if they don't fit? SIO3
  11. You got it Geoff. Thanks, I think she is going to win this year. If it was a party with my fly fishing buddies she would win hands down. But the people in my subdivision are probably bait chunkers, or worst yet they don't fish at all. SIO3
  12. Sorry Boyz. I only tie trout flys, and some hybrid striper flys. I have two other hackles currently that are yielding the size I need. You don't have to dumpster dive for them, I'd gladly give them to anyone who asked. Unless you really want to go through my trash. Call first so I can leave the garage open. I don't have a lot of pent up anger as some, so keep fireing away. I think she'll win the contest this year and then I'll give them to whoever wants them. Unless she comes up with some other art project for them. Snaggy
  13. I used all the small sizes off of it. I guess you could tie a size 4 cracklback with whats left on there.
  14. I'm no country club snob but I'll go $10 a side. I need gas money for a fishing trip. SIO3
  15. Do you mean the urban program in particular or winter fishing in general? I love both. SIO3
  16. Not many choices at 3AM at McC's SIO3
  17. Thanks Stlfisher. The pictures don't do them justice. They are indian pumpkins BTW.
  18. I threw them in the trash and she saw them. She asked if she could use them for an art project. She's entering the bigger one in the punpkin carving/decorating contest for the subdivision this weekend. SIO3
  19. I think they are called water spouts also. SIO3
  20. I was night fishing the upper shoal at McClellans about 10 years back and had to use the water closet. They had one near the trail to the upper shoal and I was sitting there in the dark with the door open dropping a deuce. I heard foot steps coming quickly toward me and it freaked me out so bad I started yelling at what ever it was, in hopes of making it stop. Not a chance. It kept coming and I was kind of crawling up the back of the toilet with pants down trying to get away. Well I had a little mess going back there when it finally came into view. It was two armadillos running side by side right towards me. They split up and went around each side of the johnny and kept going. You would think it would scare the crap out me but I never did finish my business in there. SIO3
  21. Thanks Bikehikefish, the guy was my dad. SIO3
  22. The guy who had the heart attack while clinbing the hill back to the parking lot, for which the area is named, died back in March of this year. SIO3
  23. I got the Flystart outfit for my 11 year old and the reel is pretty good actually. The floating line sinks and the rod is way to slow. I regret getting it. But like I said, the reel is fine. If I had it to do over, which I will because the rod sucks, I will go for a faster rod. Those entry level rods are almost useless. SIO3
  24. A couple okd ones. New ones to come when I have time tomorrow
