  1. At weigh in yesterday someone was telling a story that someone cut a point too close and tore up a brand new bass boat pretty good.
  2. I fished all weekend, ice was not an issue if you just drove smart. I was actually surprised how much open water there was even a few miles into some of the arms. Coffman, Shawnee, PB2, Alhonna all open as of Sat morning. Fog delayed take off yesterday for Joe Bass for 90 min, Bass World said screw it and sent em out into the abyss at 7am. Some real good bags brought in both days. The 65* rain last night completely eliminated all ice in our cove, which I walked on and guessed at 5" thick 3 short days ago.
  3. There's plenty of maps you can google with mile markers on them.
  4. The crappie are hammering if you get on top of em. Limit in just over an hour yesterday, and surprised how shallow they were under the ice. 2 weeks ago it was nothing but blacks, now they have disappeared and it's all white's.
  5. Anyone been in here? Drove past it leaving Bass Pro last weekend on 44 but didn't have time to stop. I'm surprised they don't have a website.
  6. They're holding out for management positions!
  7. I'm lovin it!
  8. No way. A bass boat wake has almost a zero % chance of damaging anything. A 40' plow or wake boat will flat tear poop up.
  9. They stopped me 4 times last year, never got a ticket. One was for running without my lights on at dusk, I know I had them on I think my knee hit the rocker switch when we hit a wake.
  10. Shipped?

  12. darn! Tennessee Tech Fishing Team 11 hrs ยท Everyone, I am saddened to announce, but our coach and team advisor went fishing today and has gone missing. Please keep Scott Northrup and his family in your prayers and pray for the individuals trying to find him! We will keep everyone posted as we find out.
  13. A one fiddy is more than capable of spearing a wave as well. Unless it's on the back of my boat with water in the wells and over 1/2 tank of fuel.
  14. You have to be going a certain speed to spear a wave, and that speed is "too fast"
  15. darn https://scout.com/outdoors/bass-fishing/Article/Day-Two-of-Costa-Series-Cancelled-to-Search-for-Missing-Angler-113244316
  16. I think Joe Bass rescheduled for 1/21.
  17. It's true, they did. Guess I'll have to chase some Crappie.
  18. 1st: I'm not doing 50 mph at night no matter what. 2nd: No way I'm trusting electronics to tell me where I'm at while under power. In fact, at night I either shut it off or tilt it down til I can't see it to get the light out of my eyes so I can focus on whats in front of me.
  19. Couple of them, anyone getting out? Forecast looks iffy, and they keep flip floppin as usual. Cold I can deal with, cold and wet I'd rather not. Boat hasn't been started in 2+ weeks I'd really like to run the cobwebs out.
  20. Ya, I was pretty sure they had the gate locked up.
  21. Isn't Pa He Tsi closed for the winter?
  22. For sidescan I almost never use both sides, I will full screen one side of the boat for whichever side I'm looking. Finding cover or structure over 12' I will split screen sonar and DI, shallower water I will run SI and sonar split as I prefer not to get on top of them. I have learned to like the white spots on my Garmin
  23. I thought the same way before really trying to learn and understand what I was seeing. I can't guarantee what species it is I'm seeing, but I can certainly weed out if it's likely the target species or not by size on screen and location or depth in the water. Several times this year I would criss cross a point with sonar and downscan on, locate fish on bottom and pitch out the back of the boat and catch those fish (bass) and they are not always on a boulder or brushpile, current can and will position fish and we can't see current in a lake usually. For the crappie fisherman you can go from spending hours to find productive water to just minutes with sidescan. I have idled past 10 docks showing nothing and then bam...find a shool of 50+ tight under 1 corner. Without sidescan I would have spent 5 minutes each at those useless docks not to mention the time trolling between them. It's also pretty clear if I'm seeing panfish, or larger fish like bass under docks by size and location.
  24. I just picked one up at xmas. Currently have a Garmin Striker 7 at the helm with DI and SI but no mapping. PITA but will probably move it to the front and mount the Lowrance at the wheel for the mapping.
  25. Waaaaa? There's not a piece of ice anywhere around us in the Glaize. Just yanked a few crappie out from under a dock.
