Garmin Updates
Targa98 replied to Maverickpro201's topic in Tips & Tricks, Boat Help and Product Review
Before I go out and buy a micro card and adapter, does anybody out there already have the updates on a card that I could just bring the boat and throw in the card and update them real quick? Figured it was worth a shot. -
It's been a while for any report from Stockton and this is more of the same. I didnt have alot of time to fish(9:30-1) bc of work and kids but I got up there for about 3 or 4 hours Monday. I knew it would be windy and that's about the only time thing weatherman is always right on. I knew going up itd be tough and I was correct. Took me about 3 stops before I found some fish. Found a Mega School of very Large crappie in the Ruark area but they were on the move. They would stay in an area but not stationary for sure. With the wind I couldnt get a jig down to them before they moved on and if I did, they did not seem interested. I tried 3 or 4 colors before I went to a little heavier Small spoon style bait. That was the key to getting to them but they were more interested in staying together than they were my spoon. The few I did catch did not disappoint as they were all over 13" with one 15"er in the bunch. Had to load up and get going but I'd say I could have caught plenty had I switched earlier or not had to leave. Lesson learned I soppose.

I 100% understand what your talking about. Because I know once I start it will go to swimbaits and crappie stuff and on and on. Then skirts and paints and jigs and blah, blah, blah. I have been very hesitant in doing it for just that reason. But everything is getting so high and hard to find what you want anymore that it started to sound like a good idea. Then....back to reality. Lol

If anybody out there is looking to part with a football jig mold , shoot me a message. Never made anything of my own so was thinking about playing around with some in my spare time

Some may argue and to each their own. This is on my very short list of hard to beat!!! Fresh Crappie and Homemade tartar sauce. Right next to fresh walleye and a nice ribeye. Something to be said about catching or killing your own food and reaping the benefit for days!!

count me in. Ill get the payment in this week -
Wish I had more to post but put in at Big M today and fished up towards Rock creek. Could not catch a walleye but Found a couple nice schools of crappie but they were very skittish. Only caught five all the same size. I would say over 14 in for sure. Small jigs in light colors is all I could get to work. They were all in 40 ft of water suspended around 20 by the time my jig would get to them they'd be gone and I'd have to chase them again. Oh well. Had 4 hours to fish and a meal to go with it so I can complain. Beautiful weather.

Not that this mattered but bait wrxs has a pretty good sale with buy 2 rapala jigging raps in #5, 7, or 9 and get 2 different styles free. I ordered a couple and will try the other style also. Just a little FYI. They're 12 days of Fishmas sale is one of the best I've seen.

I have no quams to anybody who would like to mount their legal catch or kill at all. I have 1 24.5" Rainbow that I caught at 15 years old that I would love to have refinished or fixed. It has been on to many moves and has lost color and has broken. It was not well done to start with 28 years ago so you can imagine. I also have 2 Deer done. 143" gun kill and a 130" bow kill. I have several also that I have done the Euro Mounts on myself. As well as this years to be added to the Euro wall.

Has anybody recently been to the CC access area? Not so much a fishing report but mostly curious about water level. I know everything is low but how is the ramp and is the water even fish able up that way. And if so if anyone been up there, how is it. This forum has been a ghost town so I'm assuming everything us pretty dead right now. It's been a month or so since I've had time to get around. Prob target a few Bass and crappie since I'll only have a few hours. I'll post my report once I test it out!

I'm with Andy on this one. Most of my jig rigs are currently spooled with 15 or 17. I do switch to 20 during bigger stakes events mostly just for the confidence factor but honestly I dont notice a difference either as far as catches. I just like how the 15 casts easier.

I dont blame you one bit. He is a pretty awesome looking deer. Anytime you can watch one like that and know hes safe only bodes well for the future. I was just scanning through and saw it so figured I ask. I always like seeing these kinds of things around on here. Breaks up the monotony on slower months. Thank you for sharing

Sitting in 5th after a rough one so I had to take a couple fliers that were lower owned. Hope it works out!! Good Luck to everyone and it was alot of fun!! -
Well that's not too encouraging, I was contemplating coming up myself this weekend.
-
I was hoping I could get on some deeper cranking or spoon fish also but I just didnt know if they'd be there yet.
-
Very nice. I will be coming up this weekend for sure to chase some green and brown fish. Hoping to get up early enough to find some top fish. Going to assume bushes will still be key

Anybody been up this week. Curious on water color around Ruark/Mutton as opposed to up North around the Dam. Gonna go up there in the next couple days and cant decide North or south. A little over an hour to get there so any help will save me looking time. Lol
-
I haven't been back up there in a little over a week. Is the water getting any better? I'm talking clarity from the Dam all the way down both sides. So if anyone can help, that would be awesome. Please and thank you! Im hoping the fishing picks up some.

Men's spring camp out and fishing trip done for 2022...
Targa98 replied to Steve McBasser's topic in Table Rock Lake
I dont mind either way or the other. I was only stating how it was funny that nobody bashed it like they do other guys. If I thought they tasted any good I'd do it too. But when I catch enough crappie and walleye to eat I dont have the need to keep them. That's also why I said to each his own bc they 100% have that right to eat whatever they catch if they so choose.
