  1. Launched at Ruark ramp 11:AM. I decided to try something different (for me) just for giggles, so I went Southeast until I spotted a decent sized creek. I trolled the creek a short ways and caught a nice crappie. The heck of it was I wasn't where I wanted to get to to start serious fishing but if one crappie was willing maybe there will more. And there was! 20 -25 Ft, trolling 2 mph, fire-tiger #7 flicker shads or basically a shad type bait that would reach about 12 ft. An occasional drum would hit also just to stir things up. I ended up with 10 keepers (had 4 shorts) with most in the 12" + range. Some inhaled the bait taking both trebles so they were hungry! Another good thing...only snagged/lost 1 flicker shad to those submerged wood villains of the deep! Cloudy and cool early on but...it became sunny and very warm. Water temps; 80.7 degrees Wind; SE, nice light breeze Water clarity; Good and improving each week Tight lines to all.
  2. Great report and... good job on getting those walleye figured out!
  3. Launched at Cedar Ridge at 1 PM. Beautiful bright sunny day with an occasional light ESE breeze. The water was almost smooth and in my younger days I would have described it as "perfect" for skiing. I seldom fish the Little Sac or East side but today decided to give it a try and it wasn't kind to this newcomer. The drum, bluegill, and 1 small-mouth were willing to consume crawlers from my bottom bouncers but not the Wally's! Fished 20'-28' depths from Cedar Ridge to the main lake with the same results. However, it was just a great day just to be on the water and ignore the fact that the lawn needed to be mowed at home! Water was clear and temps registered in the mid to higher 70's.
  4. Launched at Ruark, 1 PM. Predicted light and variable ESE wind was more like 10-15 mph. Water temp was 68 and was dingy in the twin bridges area. Headed North and found water clarity improved North of Mutton. No logs or heavy trash were observed floating on main lake. Fished channel points and a couple of windy secondaries with bottom bouncer/slow death rig. Wind made boat control challenging and at times very frustrating but 30+ ft was the producing depth when I could stay on it. I caught a mixed bag of 6 with 2 being keeper walleye. Tried Dan's method...switched to pink blade on the B/B rig and it produced the 2 keepers. Thanks Dan! But...obviously I still need a luckier fishing hat, old or new!

  6. What's the shaft length and approximate age? Your selling price would be helpful also. Thanks.
  7. Good Job, and report!
  8. Good job!
  9. I've been a long time reader and recently joined OAF. My conscience has gotten the best of me so I'm attempting to post my fishing experiences in an effort to repay all I've learned from this great site. Thanks to all who post here. Here goes my first attempt... Launched from Ruark west about 1 PM. Wind South/Southeast about 12-15 mph. Water temp 64. Fished channel swings and points with bottom bouncers. Used crawler harness, fire-tiger blade color, red slow death hook, 20- 25 FOW. Fished until 4 PM. Caught 6 Wally's, 3 being keepers, and 3 bass. Lots of boats on the water and the overflow parking lot at ramp was in use. I hope to go again Thursday and will try casting a jig/crawler at the same type of locations to see if that method will produce as well. Tight lines to ya!
