  1. Yeah! Why not? Somebody certainly is!
  2. Ha ha, ok ok.... Are you teasing me? The backstory is...Ham gave me a tiny fly and tiny tippet to tie on, so I could try for the Dollar Sunfish. After I had lazer surgery on my eyes a few years ago, my near vision is much worse than before. My distance vision isn't great either. I make do, and try to avoid tiny hooks. So...trying to tie a tiny fly on tiny tippet... I worked at it for quite awhile. Eventually, Ham tried to rescue me and tie it on himself...and then determined the eyelet was glued shut. So... it wasn't all my fault...was it?
  3. Chubs are sweet! I'd love to catch chubs THIS size!
  4. Shad are pretty cool and all... but can't I just jump directly to tarpon? 😜 I worked my way up from Gizzard Shad to Goldeye to Skipjack Herring already... And since I've already caught Creek Chubs, I really feel like I can handle just about any fish! Creek chubs are pure adrenaline.... 🥱
  5. Right? The mouth is shaped VERY similar to a tarpon. I haven't caught an actual tarpon yet. Maybe someday...
  6. Can you shake my fish?
  7. c'mon...you can ALWAYS buy walleye! 😄 https://www.walleyedirect.com/category/walleye.html
  8. The bigger one sure fought well. They never seem to tire or give up. Eventually, they just get bored.
  9. Thanks fellas!
  10. Flyfished for a bit on Saturday 6/16-2021. Caught a largemouth bass, a skipjack herring, a couple shortnose gar, 5 small grass carp, and one mid-sized grass carp: A few hours after getting home, we had a nice storm pass by.
  11. Sorry to hear about your Mother-in-Law. I hope she beats the virus.
  12. I found some pointers. Sorry, I couldn't resist. 😁
  13. I can understand that. Plenty manage to shake free. I'm glad to catch something, but I have to admit gar are distracting...instead of fishing for bigger fish that might be hanging deeper, I take the easy visual gar target. At some point I'll probably start to ignore them. Buts it's so fun!
  14. Some have jumped. But I never know how well they are hooked, and so I'm usually keeping a LOT of pressure on them to help prevent them from throwing the hook. So, that probably makes it harder for them to get the momentum to jump. But some still do.
  15. Caught another Longnose Gar.
  16. (FND31) Kentucky Spotted Bass:
  17. Livie should make it her goal to beat Steve! 😃
  18. Wow...that's impressive!! For those wondering what all 13 Lepomis species are (I wanted to know!): I still need 3...Redbreast, Northern, and Spotted.
  19. Dang. Every parent's worst nightmare. I'm sorry for your loss.
  20. Walked around it yesterday, saw plenty.
  21. Interesting! Yeah, I struggle with the Goldies there. There’s so many, you’d think competition would make them very aggressive. But they aren’t. They are more aggressive at other places. Those bullheads are always willing, tho!
  22. I thought of you the instant I saw it was a Skipjack.
