No doubt it has gotten to be a real rip off. $14 per night for a tent spot is ridiculous. It might be a little more palatable if for $14 they provided decent rest room facilities, showers, water, electricity, swimming beach and so on but, for a primitive site where the only amenity is stinking toilets with no lights, running water or paper products $14 per night is way out of line.

She already bought a lifetime membership to the WalMart Shoppin club and to the Payless shoppin club and the JC Penny Shoe Sale Club and I wish she would quit buying those memberships. The memberships aint so bad but all the junk she buys........sheez. Seriously I have a great wife. She lets me go fishing whenever I want to. In fact sometimes she even encourages it and she isn't all that hard on the wallet.

I stand corrected and am humbled in the presence of TB's greater wisdom. I heard there was a terrible accident involving 4 fly fishermen. They were apparently heading for the local fishing hole with two in the front of a pickup and two in the back when it went off in the creek. The two in front opened the doors and waded to safety but the two in back drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down. Any truth to this rumor?

Its that way when I take my wife fishing. She catches all the fish. Me I get to bait hooks, tie knots, untangle line and so on and so on.

Sure is. I am going to try it again and hope the weather is more cooperative and hope a lot of people can make it.

I don't doubt for a minute that officials arent in the know. It is just hard for me to think there is a big "don't tell about the Ecoli in the spring river" conspiracy. Not as long as people want to eat it isn't going to stop. I was raised on a farm. We had some cattle and hogs but mostly we raised crops. Farmers are business people and fertilizer is expensive, I don't know any farmer who spends more money on fertilizer than is needed. I have however seen people put more fertilizer on yard in one season than we would put on 40 acres in 5 years; so I have to agree that most yards are WAY over fertilized. The biggest part of the excessive fertilizer runs off when it rains. Most of the time these same people, who are over fertilizing their yards, are the ones pointing their fingers at the farmers. Again, I have to agree with you on this one. Same here. What I have said on this subject is simply observation.

Seems to be some kind of a shotgun technique to me. No one knows for sure what the problem is so just start blasting the hell out of everything in site until the target is hit. Sure glad my DR doesn't practice that kind of medicine.

When it gets hot in the summer you can find all kinds of frog chips on the highways. It takes two fly fishermen to gather them tho. One to scrape them up and one to watch for traffic. After gathering enough frog chips then it is time to hunt up a dillo that has been pre softened by traffic and heat. Time to dig in. MMMMmmmmm good ol frog chips and armadillo pate' Season is almost here. Feral hogs? Or Crows? I've known a lot of people to shoot crows but never knew anyone to eat them or do anything else with them for that matter. How about all the pigeons that are routinely killed and dumped in large cities for being pests?

It ended being a wash out so we actually did very little fishing. I don't mind the rain (I always carry rain gear) but when the lightning gets to going that is a different story. I dont see a lot of percentage in waving a fishing rod (aka lightning rod) around during a lightning storm. Anyway I got to meet Kansas Fly Fisher. He is a really nice guy and I hope to get together with him when the weather is more cooperative. I am thinking about planning another outing this fall.
