Congratulations on your retirement. I feel bad for the fish.

So I use mainly a 50 plus 2 method. Put a no. 7 flicker shad on. Let out 50 ft of line then put a 2 0z trolling weight on, then how much ever line my precision trolling app. says. To get me to desired depth. Usually I use the 50 plus 2 method for my outside rods and the 25 plus 2 for my inside shorter rods that go strait out the back of the boat. Right now I am using the bass pro depthmaster and the bass pro prodigy trolling rods. The depth master rods are cheap so if I break one I dont feel to bad about it. But I haven't broke one in 3 years of using them. Hope this helps. Everything else I do bottom bouncing, jig rap, jig crawler/minnow, or jig plastic. I use the lmtout-fitters rods. Lol

I trolled cranks on last Thursday. The last hr of my guide trip. Caught 1 keeper walleye and 6 keeper crappie in short order. When u went thru a school of crappie u new it 2 or 3 rods would go down. Trolled flicker shad in the natural shad color and flicker minnows in pink lemonade. All rods caught fish. Using snap weights to get cranks down into the 20 ft range.

I have a question for you bass guys caught this about 3 weeks ago on Stockton it measured 19 1/2 inches. Not positive what flavor it is. I guessed it as a mean mouth.?

I'm the owner of Lmtout-fitters Ed Callaway. If your wanting a guided walleye trip on Stockton we can get you out. Give me a call 660 890 5262. Thanks

The walleye bite on Stockton has gotten pretty good. Move around on points until u find the right pod of fish. Some fish u land on won't bite but keep moving. Yesterday 8 to 12 ft was best for us. Not sure if it was the good wind we had or cloud cover in the afternoon. Could have just been lucky to find them when the were ready to eat. Over the past 2 or 3 week 10 to 15ft has been much better than 16 to 25 ft. Combinations of gold amd green has been our best Colors with fire tiger close second. Jigging rap bite is ok a lot of chasing the bait but not aggressive enough to hit it. Tight lines Ed

Thank you it was great meeting you both. It is always nice putting faces t9 the names you have chatted with over the years. It is the best part of what I do, meeting the awesome people I get to meet. Glad you had a great few days of fishing.

I finally pulled the trigger on a new ride. Got it out Wednesday last week and it catches walleye as well as the zv18 did. Ended up with a nitro Zv 20 with a 300 pro xs. Really love the boat and ride. Maybe a little too much motor for this guy. Also just got back from lake Erie the first stop on the National Walleye Tour finished 10th out of 140 boats as a co angler. So pretty darn good week for me.

If I can sell this one I may have one...really can't say at this point.

My 2017 Nitro zv 18 is listed in the buy sell trade forum if anyone may be interested

I bought the garmin force last August. I troll bottom bouncing...mostly. Have had no problems except user error. I love the foot control when I'm pitching jigs. I am probably going to be switching boats this fall and a garmin force will be on the new one.

Lol. I don't have a place next to the mile long bridge.. my wife and I have never had kids together. Must be someone else's place. I live in Clinton.
-
That's a great job. Congrats.
-
How did you do last weekend? Pulling cranks and bottom bouncing on stockton.
-
So when you were bottom bouncing out 25 to 30 ft deep did u still have the slime? I have been doing all my fishing south of 215 bridge where the water is not as clear so not as much slime. I figured the 10 to 20 ft up north of there would be hard to stay away from the slime.

Why didn't you tell me you were rootman... lol. I had no idea. Have been seen your post on here for years. Lol. Maybe if I didn't talk so much all the time you would been able to tell me. Lol

While the walleye haven't been just jumping in the boat. With some patience and work. Have been able to put quite a few in the boat over the past 2 weeks. Averaging around 13 or so a trip with 6 to 11 keepers per trip. We have been bottom bouncing in the 20 ft range with slow death and harnesses. Water Temps anywhere from 57 to 62 degrees. If you get on the right pod of fish u can do some damage quickly. Other than that it is one here one there. Wishing you all best fishing.

Would love to see this so I don't have to drive so far. Would be a fun series.

Good to meet you down there the other day. Have been catching a few walleye but got skunked Wednesday.

Does this guy know what he is talking about?

I don't use them a lot this time of year but in the summer they can be deadly. That time of year I work them much more aggressive than Kent is in this video. I also do not follow the bait down. I let it free fall to the bottom. On my up swing I also hit it on a slack line. So it pops off the bottom. When it settles on the bottom I hesitate just a beat then rip it back up. All different retrieves will work, just have to find what the walleye want on that day. Last year had clients out and we were on fish but after 10 minutes we hadn't got bit. I turned on the livescope and the fish were reacting to the bait but weren't getting the bait in their mouth. We switched to the next smaller size for a slower fall rate.... we immediately started catching. I am a firm believer in confidence in your bait and what you are doing makes a huge difference.
