  1. Well at least you didn't get skunked.. The hunting around St. Louis has been slooooooow.. Seems like a lot of ducks are still North of us.
  2. Very sory for your loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your friends family.
  3. Thanks guys. She was caught on a lead eye bunny leach. Natural and white.
  4. Thanks Laker67

  6. I was the person who caught the rainbow and know that the fish was kept in the water in the net then on a boga, a few fish pics taken and a measurement.. what seemed like 5 minutes maybe more but every effort was made to keep it alive. The fish did swim off on it's own and I dont believe the fish Chuck picked up haD the same measurements (33" x 18.5"). Does anyone know the length of the one Chuck found? I wasnt aware the boga weight would put so much stress on a fish but appreciate the tip. Also, the fish was caught on 6lb maxima and the fight was as what it was.. a big fish isnt going to just give up.
  7. That is crazy and very cool..
  8. Thanks! Just grabbed 4 of these shipped Site to Store.. Would be handy in the kayak as well.
  9. I have to echo Laker67... Lunker rainbows are hard to find outside of the normal stocking weekends, opening/derby.. Browns are hit and miss.. some below the dam, in a few spots in Zone 2 and some in Zone 3 depending on the time of the year.. Yes there are some browns in zone 1, but they are spread out a little more.. My friends and I are now limiting our visits to Bennett to the C&R season..
  10. I am jealous, being in St. Louis.. Sounds like a great day.. Our ponds, lakes and rivers are all froze up. Well the rivers are open but have tons of ice.
  11. I second http://lilleystackle...ome.php?cat=269 ... you could also try http://thumpitjigs.com/ for some oddball type stuff.
  12. I have a little bit of everything.. I will second the Togen hooks. Especially big hooks for streamers or double bunnies.
  13. I have never floated under 2 feet so I have no advice but let us know how it goes.. Should be a great time to be down therer. .
  14. Thanks guys..I appreciate the information and opinions..
  15. Thanks for the reply.. That sounds about right. What could I expect if I upgrade to a better performing rod? I guess what kind of options are there for rods that fit the Current, and Taney fishing?
  16. I purchased an Orvis Henry's Fork 5wt, second hand about 7 years ago.. This has been my primary rod for fishing the parks and the one a year trips to Taneycomo.. I am looking for what type of rod and performance this rod was made for. It is great but I am wondering what type of fly fishing this is best suited for. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Anyone know any additional details?
  18. I took my fiance to the stretch above Hudson's Corner Saturday morning for her yearly attempt at trout fishing.. Got there just before the syren and left an hour after while only seeing 5 other people in that stretch. She managed to catch 15 in 45 minutes on a tri colored glo ball slow reeled in (her technique).. They were loaded in that stretch.. I spent the rest of the day fishing with Dad in the C&R and the upper fly water. I managed to land 3 large rainbows in the C&R, one just under 6lbs and two at 4lbs.. Saturday was good, Sunday was the opposite..
  19. Thanks Jason! I will definetely hit that spot tomorrow..
  20. Thanks Gavin.. Looking forward to this weekend.
  21. Was anyone down at Montauk this last Sunday/Monday/Tuesday? Is the strea running normal and clear. I was up in Northern MO and got alot of rain on Friday/Saturday. We are heading down on the 7th and just wanted a heads up on what to expect.
  22. What are those certificates?
  23. I'll have to keep one and try it this spring.. Thanks..
  24. Yeah the IDNR has closed the Chain of Rocks to snagging to protect the Sturgeon.. I loved that place, especially from a boat. I planned to make a trip to Howell Island this year as the MO looks high already.. My dad used to go over there and he said it can be good but it is also difficult depending on how high the water is. You stated you eat the chinese carp.. What method do you use to prepare them, fillet, bone and fry? Never kept one..
  25. This is a slow forum, so I thought I would put out a feeler.. Anyone snag for spoons on the Mississippi river.. It is right around the corner now.. Time to pour some weights and sharpen the hooks..
