  1. Brian: Great job on the video and the music always is a great add. Justin: One positive of this video, you are finally on the right end of the camera! Things are looking up.
  2. JGarland: PM me I have a suggestion.
  3. Talked to Amy last night (Tues.) around 8pm they are doing ok....water in the Dead Drift Fly Shop, but everything removed before the water hit. River House has water, and I think in the little cabins.........know they will have a lot to clean up once the water drops. I don't know if they had rain today, but here on the IL side of St. Louis it started raining around 12pm and was still raining around 745pm. One of the guys at the Hargroves fly shop said he talked to Amy this am and had about the same info I had...............
  4. Nice Job.............Enjoyed the video and you were on my favorite river which we were able to fish the last week of March..........Amy and Justin words cannot describe what these two do to make your trip one to always remember............
  5. Could bring in some good pipe welders and place some extensions to the existing pipes, it could be a stretch but MIGHT hold, lot of pressure from the current.......prayers to all!

  7. Did I just wake up from a dream...this is 2011 and not 2008 seems like dejavu
  8. Hey Justin.......Will the Dead Drift Fly Shop be dead in the high water? Man it sounds like 2008 all over again, I feel for all the people that perhaps will go through some tough times again. At Taney on the 15th for some wade fishing and the 16th for drift fishing with 2 units. They still were doing work from damage caused in the 2008 flood, especially around the condo's at Fall Creek. Then I hit the Norfork tail on the 17th-19th guess it will be awhile before there will be any wading on the rivers............Hope everything works out for the positive, you guys are in our prayers.......Larry
  9. They say Lambert will be open Sunday at 70%, not a pretty sight.........hope your car is safe, some vehicles turned over with lots of damage.
  10. Commander: It was a GREAT TRIP which I enjoyed with some great people young and old, me being the older...............I was not blessed with with one of the fish worthy of the time to photograph..........Heck! I wasn't even able to be on the wrong end of the camera like Justin.....but you usually end up like Justin when you fish with young Conant. He loves throwing the big streamers and I get tired of being hit in the big of the head when I throw them ........I guess I need to start if I plan on getting some bigger fish!
  11. Hey Trout Commander! Got my "Dead Drift Fly Shop" decal on my 1/2 trailer on April 3 when 3 of us from T Hargrove Fly Shop were down for 6 days.............is that hard to take or not? The only problem was watching Justin and Chris Conant come in with pictures of the bigger fish caught on streamers...........oh well better to be on the waters than not!
  12. Gee! Justin if this keeps going on you will be able to walk to the other side of the river............on top all the heads of fishermen lined up catching (try)BIG browns.........We should have a little contest in late May with Chris Conant, and Brian Wise fishing from the same boat with you on the oars, should be interesting. Great job Brian and crew!
  13. Muddy: Thanks for the info........
  14. Planning a trip to Norfork soon and we plan on using our Pontoons from the ramp at Quarry Park to Roses Trout Dock does anyone know of someone who will run a shuttle for our vehicle?
  15. Norfork of the White? Sure you can fish with a drift boat........I assume you are talking about NF of W located in Southern Mo. Sunburst Ranch is located on the river and they do shuttles. http://sunburstranchcanoe.com located west of West Plains Mo.
  16. Enjoy them while you can Brian, before you know it they will have their own families and you will wonder where did all the years go!I'm sure there will be many family fishing trips in the works over the years...Enjoy
  17. Bman is right about the Pentax Optio W series....mine is older W-20, still does a great job, great under water pic's plus great on pic's while on hiking trips to the mountains. Also great to carry in vest small, reliable.............
  18. Bought my new license last week and it still is on the yellow water proof paper, so I guess the new stuff comes later........
  19. Wake up Creepy before you go in
  20. I'm with Justin on the TMB, can't beat it on the big water of the NFofW or the 11 Point. I don't think you will find another float which will not mess up your cast, float high with lots of weight, and is very sensitive to the bite. I have also encountered some slight kinks in my leader which after a few fish usually works itself out. I know people who use the small TMB on fine tippets and they really notice no more slippage with the TMB than any other float on fine tippets. I remember first time on a drift trip NFofW and broke off and my friend gave me a rod with a TMB attached and I thought what the *%$@@&#%% if this mickey mouse set up, changed MO in a hurry.
  21. DaddyO I use the same powder paint Thom mentioned and it really does better than anything I have tried in the past.....I add one last step which has helped a lot with the paint chipping when worked near the bottom and bumping lots of rocks..I apply a coat of Salley Hansen's Hard as Nails. I buy it Walgreens,I always feels a little strange standing with the women trying to find what I want in the nail polish display.
  22. Heck! You can go to the Norfork tailwaters and we can watch you fish up/down river from Gene's Trout Resort web cam that update I think every 20 seconds.......I do get the urge for fishing when you see the water is turned off and in the early evening all the risers out there getting a few bugs before they get to the surface
  23. As far as I know you can anchor but cannot drag a chain to control the speed of your drift like you can on the White River.
