  1. I did while I was running trotlines, but I only caught 3 fishing out of Aunts Creek. My motor is blown up and I only could use the trolling motor though so that's my defense. I know once you find them that they can be caught one after another. I was just unskilled and unlucky. Lake fishing is not my strong point. We did however catch 70+ bait sized perch everyday to rebait our lines with.
  2. Like was already stated, I looked it up. I thought they had all went extinct in Missouri, but apparantly they're stocking them in SouthEast Missouri.
  3. That's the wrong species of gar to have been from Pomme. Probably from Texas or Louisiana.
  4. Wow what an impressive catch. I can only imagine how many fishing lines that thing broke. I'm surprised somebody would keep it though. Thanks for the picture.
  5. That would defintely been a time it's a benefit to being a "Knifer" so I could have defended myself
  6. 5400 dollars sure seems a little steep for me considering you can buy a good fishing kayak for around $500 that only weighs about 50 pounds instead of 200 pounds of the Mokai. That's over 5000 dollars after tax, plus shipping I'm sure for a jet motor.
  7. Dang, I never seen anybody put up a reward for a lure, It must have been a special one.
  8. I checked it, I almost bought one of those new years ago. I need something that I can abuse a little bit, more for hunting purposes. Nice boat though.
  9. Ok thanks. Is it on Craigslist?
  10. How much do you want for the motor? I may be interested in replacing the motor on my boat.
  11. You know I even disagree with this. I think these people feel this way even if you keep 1 bass. I personally have never kept a limit of bass. Only 1 or 2 at a time for a meal. I understand their point of somebody that goes dailly and keeps a fish everyday, but I seriously doubt that there is very many people that do this.
  12. A knifer is somebody who doesn't belong to the organization called PETA. Also known as people who eat meat. Most likely to be using an aluminum boat instead of a huge fancy top of the line fiberglass boat going from post to post and causing controversy.
  13. Where are you fishing at?
  14. Yes a bluegill tournament would be a neat idea.
  15. Thanks for showing. I've always wondered what the upper end looks like. I always seem to be driving around it, but not ever through it.
  16. Go back and look at my 600+ posts before you made stupid statements. It's not been till recently that you few loud mouths ruining peoples posts and trying to bully others into your mindset(OR LEAVE) that I've ever argued or posted anything in a negative manner. And I think you're the one Camping, lol. I can't believe I've lowered myself to this crap you spew out of your mouths and argue with you. I understand, as well as everyone else on this website that fish, or all animals and natural resources are in need of being recognized of needing to be maintained at a healthy level for these resources to remain healthy. I don't keep nearly all or half of what I catch, but I also enjoy eating what I fish or hunt for sometimes. All I ask for is to tone it down some and let people be. Make your point, then leave it be. Not bash on every post and start arguements. I just don't understand the mentality of attacking others at every chance you get. Don't you have something better to do? At least Occasionally?
  17. Wow, you few guys have made your point made on EVERY POST having to do with people who eat fish. Tolerance is not a word any of you understand or can possibly conceive. Why not just keep your mouths shut for once and let someones post just be something for people to enjoy and appreciate? We ALL know you don't believe in murdering poor bass. We got it. We heard it. We know. Just DROP it!
  18. This doesn't surprise me one bit. But congrats on a great catch and I'm glad you're on them. I was running trotlines down there last week and (I'm not kidding), I caught more bass on the trotlines than I did catfish. It was ridiculous, and annoying, lol. I was using live bluegill for bait.
  19. It looks to me that the ramp just needs a little crack filled in, lol.
  20. I feel at a loss of words, his posts were always intelligent and full of common sense. It's sad to lose a person like this from everyday life.
  21. Oh no, If we beg for forgiveness will you please reconsider?
  22. There was a line in a movie called Centennial. It has a line in it that I live by sometimes. "You can't reason with a maniac, you have to overcome him" This is what I think of everytime I see a post of these bass lovers thinking the bass are holy and deserve special treatment over every other fish in the lake. It's kinda like the people overseas who worship cows for whatever reason. It's beyond their comprehention because they're obsessed with it. If a person was to go try to catch a fish in Tablerock. Perch would be the fastest and Bass would be next to catch. They're defintely not endangered or even close.
  23. Add me to the list. It's gotten really annoying that people think bass are the best fish and the most important in the lake. It's an ecosystem in which ALL the fish are important.
  24. I agree with releasing some of the female crappie. I'd rather protect them than bass. I get so sick of hearing about the poor bass being kept and the way people are attacked for keeping some to eat. I fish a lot, but not more than some of you. I fish to eat. I also fish for fun. Most of the time I have a goal of catching a meal for the family because we love to eat fresh fish and we aren't real picky about what it is usually. Some days i just release everything when I get to thinking about how many I've kept. I wish they would lower the limit on crappie to 10 total or up the size limit to 11 inches. It'd be more fun fishing for them if they were more reliable to catch more often.
  25. I'm guilty of the same thing. Watched a storm roll in down at Forsyth one time by the dam and thought I knew what I was doing, pushing it a little to long when all the sudden lightning struck the metal tower and sparks fell in the water by me. Probably the most scared I've ever been. i almost left my pole and everything to get out of there. I feel bad for the guys family who this happened to. Like you, I know them fairly well. I work around there house quite often for the land owner. They are great people and I feel very sorry for them. It's such a sad deal.
