  1. I think Blazerman pretty much summed up what I consider the sqeaky wheels of the forum, lol. Sometimes when the rules listed above get annoying to me, I go out and get me a smallmouth for dinner, but I use live crawdads instead of minnows. Welcome.
  2. In this day and age with all the roads and such around. Just walk out to the nearest farm road and follow the road out and find a house or someone driving by. Within a couple hours the couple could get a ride to their vehicle and be safe. It'd be a lot better than camping in this weather, unless they were completely prepared for this weather with all the gear they need. Just walk out. It's simple and easy.
  3. There are probably 10,000 fold more perch than walleye, but which one will people throw in their cooler first? It's all a matter of perception. There should always be more prey available than predators otherwise the predators starve. Being less noticable doesn't makes ones life more important than the others, unless they are endangered.
  4. Nice picture. It's funny how people like to express their beliefs on stuff. The population decline in rabbits and quail is spot on with the crash of the fur market in the late 80's. With less predators killing = more prey populations. It's pretty easy to comprehend, but some people can't imagine killing something so beautiful, which I understand. But what puts a bobcat above a field rat? All animals have their place in the circle of life, and unfortunetly now humans are the main factor in that circle. Before and even now it is disease and stavation that controlled populations. Thanks for sharing the pic. It's not everyday you see a pic of a bobcat in an ice covered tree.
  5. Oh ok, I guess that makes sense because I Counted 12 and not 13, lol. I thought maybe I missed one.
  6. It's probably a long shot, but I think I saw that flock fly over me roughly a week ago while I was bowhunting in Nixa. They were definitly swans and they were headed south. When did they show up down there? And where are you?
  7. Yes either or both.
  8. If the weather will ever cooperate and not flood, I plan on trapping most of the Finley this year. I just hope the theives stay away and let me do my thing. Linden down to Ozark is notorious for thieves on the river.
  9. Isn't River Run the side that they just remodeled all around the boat ramp with chunk rock? Surely they're not closing it.
  10. I haven't been down there to see the water. Do you know how low they are gonna get it under normal? And what days are supposed to be lower?
  11. Gosh the river sure looks nice. You picked a float that usually isn't to busy either. That little island sure is a giveaway for your float. I wonder how long that has been there.
  12. LMAO, now that is funny. It's just as much fun as catching the fish I'm sure. I'd put money down that says it's not the first time that seal has done that. One time years ago I was fishing down at Powersite dam on Taneycomo side with family and it was quite busy with other people. There was a black lab running around just as freindly as any other lab visiting everybody. Some guy right next to us reeled in a real nice rainbow and landed it. As soon as it was on the bank, the dog runs up, grabs it and took off straight towards the fence by the road. It knew exactly where to go to get under the fence. Everybody was looking around like Who's Dog Is That?
  13. I think you may have posted this question in the wrong part of the forum. You need to post it into the Upper Bull Shoals section to get the best results. Me and a buddy was down around Forsyth on Bull Shoals and caught a couple short walleye while bluegill fishing with worms. The walleye fishing down here is probably not as good as where you're from, so be patient is my advice. And yes the same techniques should work. Stickbaits are popular down there also.
  14. Thanks for the additional info guys, I knew there had to be some personal experience with these.
  15. You forgot to mention where you were fishing, i'd like directions, lol.
  16. Thanks for the info Jeb, it appears nobody else knows anything.
  17. I'm looking for all of guys opinions on what type of CO2 inflatable life vests. If any of you have any experience with them I would appreciate your advice. I would prefer to get a strictly manual vest because I plan on using it while kayaking and fishing the lake shores during rain and such.
  18. I think the correct name is the Finley Creek, but for the size of it, it's more like a river. To me anyways. But like was said I usually call it the Finley also. Seems like an irrelevant thing to talk about lol, but good question. Now Bull Creek is definetely Bull creek. I like that one cause there is always no one floating it and it's bigger than it seems.
  19. What does O3 mean you guys? I'm not real familiar with that area other than fishing at the dam.
  20. That's a nice looking smallie, looks like a keeper. I don't think that turtle is an alligator snapping turtle though. I caught one a couple years ago and it didn't look like that! They have an extremelly thick shell with a HUGE head and a real spike shell.
  21. Wow that stuff looks pretty amazing. Thanks for sharing.
  22. I've been trying to wait on my stickers for when I see you on the water, but that never seems to happen.
  23. Just upstream from Crane creek on the right side there's a gravel bar that's on a bend in the river, which has a deep hole with lots of catfish. It's my favorite camping spot and the owner is a great guy. He's a dentist I believe and an avid fisherman. He even cast netted us some minnows for fishing that night. It's over half way to your destination.
  24. Funny pic man. Going down there and killing a gator is something I've always wanted to do.
  25. Wow, from 160 to Delaware Town is a long float, especially the first half. It's no wonder you didn't catch much with having to paddle all that way in 1 day. I've done it before the first time I floated it, but that was before I knew of all the access points along the way when I was still in high school. That crappie would be a shocker for sure. I've seen several that got gigged around the Delaware Town access before on the river.
