  1. Hey Hey, it was 2 posts. I posted my report right after his, lol. Like some on here I get frustrated when there's a thousand views and very little replies. I give a big thanks to a few of you guys posting on this crappie bite going on. If not for them, I'd never have went down there. I hope the bite stays the same through this cold weather.
  2. I gotta agree with that! Nice out there today, but there were to many people. One boat got a jig and slider across the whole boat and across his lap in the process. Needless to say we got sick of people going in front of us idling by when there was 100 yards of open water behind us. We had we ended up with 25 keepers with only about 5 shorts and a bass. I think the word is definitely out on the crappie!
  3. Wow that's nice. Those are sure fun to catch, especially when the ones that size and bigger starts showing up. I wish it wasn't so far up there.
  4. There are a lot of bank accesses from Barker Hole on down. It takes a little walking to some spots, but not bad. Just do a little satellite research and you can find roads dead ending at the lake. I don't know any names of roads, just how to get to em.
  5. It looks like a whale to me!
  6. This has got to be the longest thread on the Upper Bull Shoals section. Usually it's hard enough to get 1 reply to a post. By the way I was down between Beaver Creek and K Dock walking the bank for baits 2 days ago and saw a guy catching whites and crappie slow trolling soft plastics along the bank. I don't know if it was a fluke or if it was a legit bite to be found more than once.
  7. The river is still gonna be really high to.
  8. The only walleye I caught over 10 lbs was 10lb 12oz and it was 31 inches.
  9. That's disappointing. But thanks for the report. I'm thinking around Beaver Creek this year might be the best fishing till they start spawning. But I do know whites and walleye can be caught up in the park area before the crowds start coming. The last year the water was real low 2006? maybe, I done real well before anybody ever caught on that there were fish around.
  10. Most people go down into Beaver Creek arm of the lake to fish for catfish, especially if the water is at a high level. I've fished down there a lot and I've only seen 1 catfish caught from Barker Hole up to the dam. During the summer I wouldn't be surprised to see catfish in there for the cooler water maybe.
  11. I'm happy to catch any walleye over 18 inches. So I take all the advice I can find. Thanks Bry.
  12. What type of Berkley Gulp do you use for walleye? What size jig heads for suspended fish?
  13. If you're coming from the North, Yes that is correct.
  14. I don't know what semi private means either. I know you can get in trouble if you start parking on private land outside of the boat ramp parking lot. Anyways you take 173 north out of Cape Fair. Roughly a couple miles past Flat Creek, take a Right on S Walnut Springs Rd. Follow that around and after a couple small turns you will come to the boat ramp on the right side. You might want to use Mapquest and look up the map for better directions.
  15. Are you talking about going up the channel below the dam on the Tablerock side or at the headwaters of Beaver Lake? Thank you
  16. There is the Walnut Springs boat ramp. It's a small ramp with very limited space to park. During normal water levels it is very boatable around that area. Lots of people white bass fish that area when the spawn starts.
  17. A guy can't beat a Banjo Minnow, but those colors are very hard to find. It seems every serious walleye fisherman around has bought them up.
  18. My best color of Rogue is purple back, gold belly. They're hard to find sometimes. I do just as well on purple sliders with a jighead. This is all night time fishing by the way. The oldtimers down there I've noticed use a lot of plain bone white rogues with a red treble hook. I've picked up a couple on the bank and will be trying these this year.
  19. I think I need to take my buddies gigging boat down there just to find out where them walleye are hanging out at. I wonder if there's a lot of suckers up there. Anybody know?
  20. Well that's a bummer. I was really hoping that I had missed out and the fish were biting good.
  21. I can't wait to get your report, good or bad. I'm curious
  22. Apparently I've been missing out on some walleye fishing this winter. I usually wait till mid February to start, but this isn't the first time I've heard of a good bite. I would of thought with this low water, that the fishing would of been slower. I look forward to your report. And there are a few good spots to fish from. Some of my favorite are on the Forsyth side of the lake. And don't forget to post your success or failure! It helps us all when we share our reports.
  23. I was down around K dock today and there was some ice on the north facing banks, coming out maybe 20 feet or so in the shallow areas, but no ice in the deep water at all.
  24. Thanks, now that was something I wasn't expecting, lol.I never liked looking at a big bush anyways. And for that reason I guess that's the reason I've never seen or known anybody(thankfully) that has seen one of these almost extinct critters.
