  1. Its in front of the Ark, G&F comm to stock 22,000 stripers per year in Bull. due to the huge size the fish are growing to. The thought is the lack of over crowding in the species is what is allowing the fish to reach the enormous sizes. Higher O2 than Norfork may help with less mortality rates.
  2. Piebald deerand its not rarer than albino deer. I just did tons fo research from my wife to present to her science class. http://images.google.com/images?gbv=2&...eer&spell=1 Albino must be all white with pink eyes. http://images.google.com/images?gbv=2&...G=Search+Images I have apic of a piebald squrriel thats black and white I will try to upload in in the next day or two.
  3. Who has served our nation in the Military? US Army Retired. 12/07/1998
  4. Eurasian dove and some do have the ring, mostly male, females don't have the ring or so that what the bird bioligist says and the conrell bird dvd.
  5. Working on the new shop building benchs, had the doors open I thought time to rest and drink a Mt Dew. I look up and see a yellow jacket heading straight my way thru the door.. It must have watched some cartton as it hit me in the middle of the forhead stinger first, LOL. I have been killing its buddies and tons of red wasp the building has set empty for a couple years, with just a few months of being a beer store this summer all sort of stinging buzzing critters moved in. I will get even when the weather cools a bit!
  6. Water will probably still be up. they have been running 6-8 generators 24/7 to draw the lake down. Bank fishing the accessable places would be White hole, some at Cotter, Wildcat shoals, Buffalo City Bull SHoals State park below the Restricted area is restricted to Catch and Release until next year, due to Browns spawning. You might want to look at Norfork River, the have not been running gens until noon.
  7. How about those leg humpiong chihuahuas?
  8. I will get a good pic of this fish. for you to see. A young man 10 years old caught a 13 3/4 lb RAINBOW in JULY. Using worms dipped in Vienna Sausage BBQ sauce. Yes they kept it, I have it in the freezer now. 29 inches long and a 19 inch girth. perfect fins, awesome color. They were using a guide. I will be molding the fish so reproductions will be available. Yea, I know its said to loose a fish of this size, but its their fish and no need to preah about C&R. I did get a repeat of a another rainbow caught earlier in the year. its the same fish we are sure caught 100 yards from where it was caught before. It was photographed at the dopck and release and made its way back down stream. its 23 long and 22 inch girth. Its been released twice I know of and they have the pics. here the fat 23 inch bow
  9. White hole does not have a lot of bank fishing area, plus its beside the public launch ramp. I have seen some monster browns there but it has been under lower water. If you rent a boat, don't anchor or use a drag chain. The high water will sink you fast, so fast you will not be able to react. Fishing is about the same above or below Cotter. You can run up river to the Bull Shoals park and drift safley down and fish. If you need any info while you are there stop in Flippin at the Taxidermy Studio beside Wal Mart and ask I will do my best to help you out. White building on the left.
  10. You know it's not pleasent to shot a dog or even a cat. But why and the world don't people just put a buttlet in the animals head instead of dumping it off on someone else. I get a lot of dogs dropped off here for some reason. My horses pretty well take care of them, they stomp the dogs and the dogs either die or leave. But cats are worse. When I first bought this place three years ago I had tons of quail and some would come right up in the yard a male and female pair would almost crow every morning. Then one day I saw the male dead and a cat eating the female the next day. Now there no quail to be heard. Cat on jacketed bullets. http://images.icnetwork.co.uk/upl/liverpoo...53EF0DA0F83.jpg Kitten caught today. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v89/mhki...log/cat-gun.jpg I seldom shot a cat, not that I dont shoot at them. most are 100 yards and a .22 at lest puts them on the run.
  11. LOL. My Wife had foot surgery last Dec. day 7 after surgery we were on White River fishing. Did not slow her down much except for around the house. Plus she was on a walker for awhile. I would put the boat in the water, back the truck up to the bumper and she only had a couple feet to walk to get to the boat. Hope yours does as well as mine did. Someday when I have time I have some work on the foot the Dr needs to do but its not that bad yet!

  13. Sounds like some of the guides on White River. I have had that happen on the lake too. Someday someone will get hurt. Maybe its really time for the DNR and commison to make some rules on how close you are allowed to get to another boat? I hate more rules but rude behavior is setting a bad example for the younger fishermen.
  14. Several years back, we had cattle and as the town creeped to the edge of Grandmas Property (Homestead by my ancestors in the 1850s) the new people in the subdivisions would all turn their dogs out in the afternoon. Dogs will pack up and attack cattle, they had killed two calves and ripped ears off the cows. One day I followed several of them home. Maybe a whole mile as the crow flies. Dano knows where my brother lives and where the Wilson additon is in Harrison AR. Anyway I went back to the home and told Grandpa where the dogs lived, so we headed out and and grandpa told the owners the dogs would be shot if we caught them on the property again. The next darn evening as Granddad milked the cow I sat in the hayloft with a trusty old 30.30 lever action, here came the pack German shepard, poodles, wiener dogs and mutts. The leader of the pack was a sheperd, the owner had been warned. I managed to kill the shepard, two mutts and someones lap dog as they attacked a calf. Grandad still milking ask what I had shot, I told him, he wanted to know if I knew where the dogs lived. Told mt to take the dogs to the owners homes. So I did, yea the owners were mad mad as hell. We had reported the calf killing and cow mangling to the sheriffs office, Buck Green was Sheriff back then. He had told us to kill the dogs if we could. No lease laws then in the county or even now. Finally we ended up in court over the crap and we of course won the case. But dog owners started keeping their dogs under control. Still happens time to time. Guess thats why I hate dogs that are loose and their owners who dont control them.

  17. I have caught some smallies on the White and a couple three pound bass on seperate trips. Sunday was odd to say the lest. I hit the jack pot on Crappie, caught nine yes black crappie, they all had the stripe don the back to the nose. and along with that several largemouth bass but they were small (sport bass) as Trav says. All on my CD-9 Rapala. Its certainly an odd trip to catch more crappie than trout!! all between Wildcat and Cotter. Dont have any idea where they came from maybe thru the flood gates or maybe they are moving up stream with all the high water. I know there are crappie above lock and dam #1 at Batesville, but there are two more dams for then to get over to move on up stream. Plus this was the first time I have caught crappie!!
  18. Just be greatfull you are not down on White River!! They were running 8 today wide open the river even came up more while we were out. Trout fishing was slow, but I found crappie! CD-9 Gold Rapala!!
  19. Trout are used to replace the WARM WATER FISH the DAMS killed and the habitat the dams destroyed. Trout as you know will not live outside of their habitat. Wild horses, feral hogs, feral dogs, feral cats will live and reproduce and damage habitat that wildlife could use. BLM controls all wild horse popualtions and their adoptions are down, they still bring in horses and burros from the range but people are not adopting them in the number they once did. The Wild horse act of 1974 prohibits the killing of Wild Horses, so as they damage Elk and deer habitat so badly that elk and deer and Pronghorn are starving which should take priority? Which was here first? Native horses died out 20,000 years ago! So by your ideal I could have just taken the excess in my herd and turned them loose on Buffalo River, right?
  20. Sadly they are protected by Federal law. I agree that hogs are worse but niether have a place in the Americas. Bad thing is the BLM is left to control horse in the USA and people are releasing more everyday. Yes I am a horse lover currently have five had 24 last summer. I doubt the water quailty is effected much by any horses, humans are the prime source of coliform in the water. I am also a member of Backcountry Horsemen. I dont shoe my horses either as shoes are exptremly damaging to the enviroment. and with proper trimming a horse can go barefoot. I also agree that large numbers on trail rides do some damage. Feral is feral and every feral animal needs to be removed from the wild!
  21. That cat pictured was actually killed in Montana and mounted by one of my friends Who is a great big cat taxidermist. I have received the same pics in a dozen emails over the years of course its been killed in ever state. Was even sent as being hit by a train in Kansas. about 4 years ago.
  22. Nice fish, but the horses are correctly known as FERAL HORSES. They really need to go.
  23. http://www.patterico.com/2008/10/07/obamas...all-businesses/ Who will befriend these Obama or McCain? http://www.thethirdjihad.com/ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=a...vision&cd=1 Radical teachers get the grants! www.nationalledger.com/artman/publish/article_272623111.shtml
  24. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=B...mp;aq=f&oq= Just for you cheif! Ayers was released because of one illegal wire tap. otherwise I am pretty sure he would still be in JAIL. Ayers is a political pal od the Chicago Mayor Daily. http://beltwayblips.com/story/stanley_kurt...yers_chicago_1/ All you have to do is use google and you can find planty of eviednce that Obama does not have good judgement. So wopuld you go to announce your new political carreer at someomes home without researching who the sponser is? Now look at this for a minute. Several people on this forums have held Secret clearance while in the military. I held Nato Top Secret and I can tell you a couple things. 1 Obama used illegal drugs while attending occedentil(SP) College 2nd hanging out with Ayers would bar Obama from receiving any clearence, let alone one that could control the fate of the world! [b[Obama served as president of the board of directors for the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a large education-related nonprofit organization that Ayers was instrumental in starting.[5] The board disbursed grants to schools and raised private matching funds while Ayers worked with the operational arm of the effort. Both attended some board meetings in common starting in 1995, retreats, and at least one news conference together as the education program started. They continued to attend meetings together during the 1995-2001 period when the program was operating.[5] Obama and Ayers served together for three years on the board of the Woods Fund of Chicago, an anti-poverty foundation established in 1941. Obama had joined the nine-member board in 1993, and had attended a dozen of the quarterly meetings together with Ayers in the three years up to 2002, when Obama left his position on the board,[1] which Ayers chaired for two years.[10] Laura S. Washington, chairwoman of the Woods Fund, said the small board had a collegial "friendly but businesslike" atmosphere, and met four times a year for a half-day, mostly to approve grants.[2] The two also appeared together on academic panel discussions, including a 1997 University of Chicago discussion on juvenile justice. They again appeared in 2002 at an academic panel co-sponsored by the Chicago Public Library.[1] One panel discussion in which they both appeared was organized by Obama's wife, Michelle.[11] In 2008, a spokesman for the Obama campaign said the last time Obama and Ayers had seen each other was when Obama was biking in the neighborhood in 2007 and crossed paths with Ayers. The spokesman said "The suggestion that Ayers was a political adviser to Obama or someone who shaped his political views is patently false".[12] The New York Times reported that Obama did not have a significant relationship with Ayers.[5] According to several people, Ayers played no role in starting Obama's career which was primarily launched when Deborah Leff, then president of the Joyce Foundation, suggested Obama be appointed as chairman of the board of the six-member board that oversaw the distribution of grants in Chicago.[5] You dont sit on a board without knowing more about the members than BH Obama claims to know. Obama says "Words just words" thats scarey it pretty well proves he will not back his words up. Maybe even worse the Billary http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/World/O...how/3510943.cms http://www.news-leader.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...5/1006/ARCHIVES http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usvG-s_Ssb0 Hands is the till! http://purplepeoplevote.com/2008/09/17/oba...nd-freddie-mac/ I could post so many more links proving the wrong doing of Barak Hussien Obama. How and who is going to pay the increased taxes Obama is going to need for his plans? I know for state level and up I am voting against all demcrat that voted for the bail out. Someone miss managed money stole money and then gets bailed out. Wrong in anyones book! On the Dem website it says 90% of the people believe the Government is heading down the wrong track. Well the Dems are in charge of Congress, so that too proves their leadership is faulty. 90% Believe U.S. on Wrong Track According to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, 90 percent of Americans believe the country is on the wrong track -- the highest ever recorded since the question was first asked 35 years ago -- and President Bush received 23 percent approval, the lowest in 70 years of polling. http://www.democrats.org/
