  1. Eric and Wheatie, I hate both of you.
  2. I'd rather see my tax dollars going to burning some dinosaurs and our pilots getting in some practice rather than... oh, say Congress trying a baseball player for lying. Which I find to be not only a total waste of money but also highly ironic.
  3. TFM, there's plenty of water to fish for the warm water finned wonders. Take a Tuesday, rent a canoe, bring the long stick, some buggers and poppers and just chillax. They may not be monsters but at least you're out there. The trout will be there in the fall when the canoe traffic has diminished. Glad to see you around again. The little Mrs is never going to let you buy a drift boat anyway. Although if she does....
  4. Amen brother...
  5. I'm not sticking up for any fan of any kind of "entertainment", but there have been venues trashed by all types of crowds. Just sayin....
  6. Thanks Chris. We should try and get out soon. I went back yesterday with a buddy of mine and decided to throw the PMS after the topwater bite turned off. I caught 10 or 12 the smallest being a pounder. I hooked one really good one on the olive, but she threw the hook before I could get her to hand(barbless is the rule there). I tied on a natural/ginger one and came up with this...
  7. Glad you're "hooked". The long stick is too much fun. Pick up some beadhead woolies as well. Olive has been hot for me lately. Oh, and maybe some Chernobyl ants, black and yellow.
  8. Yesterday I joined the ranks of the unemployed, AGAIN. So this morning it was off for a little cure all. Went to my buddy's pond with the 8wt. Caught many in the 1-3 pound range. Apparently what LMBs really like on an extremely humid day in STL is an olive bugger. This was my best fish, around 17" and really healthy.
  9. I like a 5 miler out of Ozark Outdoors(formerly Keyes, yeah Bear is still there) in Leasburg called the Courtois Primitive. Takes you on the Courtois, Huzzah and the Mac. Plus you take out right at your car. The only thing I don't like is that they won't put you on the water before 8 or 830 or some crap.
  10. Its still sitting here in the box looking at me... I can't get the broken foot off to replace it, must have put lock tite on the screws. I think I may try the JB Weld idea, thanks Brian.
  11. SIO3, I think in the future you should ask ahead of time if the guide plans on fishing. The handful of times I've had a guide some have fished with us. I didn't mind, especially if it was new water and new techniques. The one time I had a guide on TRL with the Mrs I told the guide ahead of time on the phone that I didn't really care if I caught any fish but wanted the little Mrs to get into a good sized one. He delivered and was slick in doing so.... he hooked a good sized smallie, then acted like something was wrong with the Mrs rig and said "here, let me trade you rods" She had no idea there was even a fish on the rod he handed her. She had a blast fighting and landing that thing. That day I was glad he fished. We all had a blast and to this day the Mrs asks when are we going to do that again. So it was a win big time for me.
  12. Man! Wish I would have read this yesterday. Let me know how it went.
  13. Daaaaang! Nice going Gator!
  14. Is that seriously the thread title you chose? Respect? For fish? Seriously? Is this the new code for "Lets have a catch and release vs. catch and keep debate?" Oops, wet wool glove catch and release... I par cooked this one on the side of an aluminum canoe in the middle of July and released it so the next guy that caught it wouldn't have to wait as long for it to cook before he devoured it... I caught and released this one and he loved me so much he hung around for me to take his picture.... I probably should have waited for him to get away from the moss, rocks and gravel before I took the picture but I didn't know and apparently neither did he. Now I do, just gotta remember to tell him. I string my trout right through the eyes because they live longer they just can't see and I really enjoy it when one drops milt or eggs all over my waders before I slit em nape to neck and rip out their guts.
  15. Dude! That is awesome! Its the fly version of one of the best dollar lures ever, the beetle spin. Where can I order some Zach?
  16. I see a big red button in this thread's future if y'all don't "play nice".

  18. Good to see you on the board Zach. Hope your lack of posts is because you're fishing or sittin at the vise. Post some pics of your bass flies if you get a chance. I'm intrigued.
  19. That's funny Phil. Even better Wrench!!!
  20. What's with the third person? First "Trav" and now "Guru" or "zipstick" posts like they are a ghost writer or a caveman or some craziness. Take some lithium and get over yourselves. Sheesh! Atuk zug-zug Lana... Cheers
  21. Taxi, did YOU just correct someone's English? It was and I knew what you meant before I opened the thread. Cheers
  22. Well? You know what to do don't ya?
  23. In broad daylight! Who knew?!? Right on brother!
  24. Montauk/Current seems to level out a lot quicker than most of the other streams IMO. You should be fine unless there is a monsoon event.
  25. Well the $2k camera OFFICIALLY doesn't work weekends.
