  1. Fished the Kimberling area today for a bit. Tried to make them eat a jerkbait but only managed 2 doing that, one keeper. Cranking took up the rest of the day. Caught 8 with 4 keepers on a RK in brown. WT 51.
  2. Channel swings main lake is where I have been focusing must of my cranking. It's not a huge numbers deal usually but you can catch some decent fish.
  3. Any day fishing with good friends is a great day. Fishing was just a little off for us. But we'll pay them back eventually. Had a great day Sprint
  4. Sorry Dutch I was the one launching right after you.
  5. Yes that was me Dutch. Next time I see you I'll stop by and talk a little longer. There sure were several boats up in that area today.
  6. Fished the James all day, caught 17 with 4 keepers. Caught all keeps cranking and caught 2 shorts on jerk. Fished from mouth of flat creek down almost to hideaway. Just one here and one there. Caught them on wart as well rk. Brown and mo craw. Good to see you Cheese and talk awhile, have s good New Year everyone. Sprint and I are at it tomorrow at Baxter, if you're out and see a blue and gray Phoenix come by and say hi.
  7. I didn't get to far up the river. But very similar to what you have been seeing just didn't catch as many. Need to go up above cape I think. Or at least above wooly.
  8. Went out for an little while this afternoon. Went to aunts and ran up the river. Caught 4 cranking channel swings, cranking keepers. Nothing big just keepers. WT 54.
  9. Don't sore mouth all of them Sprint. Merry Christmas to all of you.
  10. Thanks Dutch, I've fished that stretch several times, I like it too. Just didn't know about going up that river. Would like to try and find some crappie too, fished several trees on bluffs the other day and nothing. Thought I might get one dumb one.
  11. I fished from Lead Hill to the ferry. Thinking about going to K dock sometime and run up from there. Never put in there.
  12. Made it over to Bull yesterday. Tried for walleye with the jerker only managed one short. Cranked most of the day on channel swings, main lake. Tried 5 different colors of crawler and brown was the best. Had 8 keepers, all on the crank. Caught around 7 shorts. WT 54 about everywhere. Merry Christmas everyone.
  13. I totally agree Champ, it is not Rambo fishing when you fish shallow like I do and we do. Sprint and I share alot of information with each other, we fish the same bass club and we do some fun fishing together when time allows. I've learned alot from guys in the club, not necessarily they telling me what they are doing, but if you pay close enough attention, you will always pick a few things up here and there. Yesterday I was cranking the clear clear water at Kimberling, and fishing bluffs with good ledges, did not need wind, as they will set up this time of year just under or on top of the ledge, you have to finesse that crank down there, and just pull it along and they will eat it. Earlier this year I took a Lake of the Ozarks tip with a spinnerbait and for several months just caught some real nice fish almost every time out. While others were throwing the plopper, I was spinnerbaiting. Worked good for me. Wish I knew more about deep fishing, have a caught some here and there when I go out and try it, but shallow is my comfort zone. This forum has been great over the years. It reminds of me of the bass club, pay attention to the posts and you will get more out them than just the typed information. Now living in Kimberling City, and this my last year at Cassville Schools, I am retiring. I am having a great time finding areas on that end of the lake that I can do what I like to do. Anyway, I will quit rambling. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy the season. Fish
  14. Fished KC today with the crawler. Only fished for a few hours. Caught 7, one on jerk bait ready cranking. 3 keepers. Brown craw was best color, all ate it good. WT 55. Channel swings..
  15. Check you inbox
  16. Have to agree with Champ, I just purchased a Kovert cranking rod. Very good rod, used it last weekend at Bull, handles great.
  17. No it was Dustin blevins so I have no idea.
  18. Fished club tourney out of Lead Hill. Not a lot of bites, but managed to catch a limit cranking. Weighed 13.13, and I was happy to have it. Caught 7 bass all day, just trying to chase a ripple. Really flat most all day. Wind picked up around 1:30, but Sydney help me. Fished bluff creeks and longer cuts. Did pick up 3 walleye in jerkbait. 19+ won it. Followed by two 15 lb bags, another 13+ from Sprint. Good luck when you get to go. Headed there next Saturday.
  19. I agree with Dock, I use same set up. I have a pair of Danner and rocky and both work well.
  20. I will also add that I will throw a spinning rod only when I throw a spoonbill rogue. I believe fishinwrench posted that some time back. That bait calls for a spinning rod. Wrench was totally right about that.
  21. I have 3 jerkbait rods I use, 2 lews 6'7", really like them with my lews reels. My favorite is my 6'4" Cara. Had it for a long time probably 15 years. I throw all my jerk baits on 8lb mono. Switched over 2 years ago, and get bit more throwing 8 than any other. That's just my experience.
  22. 76 last I saw didn't turn my graph on much.
  23. Fished from 7-11 this morning. Caught 10 with 4 keepers. All on blade. Fished shallow and back of pockets. Beautiful morning to be out.
  24. That was a great day love to hear they hit a jerker.
  25. It was a very hard 8 hours. I had 7 bites all day as well. Fished shallow all day all the ones I caught were on spinner. She was probably in 10 inches of water on a lay down. Pulled that spinner over it and here she came. WT was 74 most everywhere I fished. I fished from cow to aunts. Just a hard old day.
