  1. 6000 more fish have been stocked, and 50 more lunkers were put out in the past few days. I saw two that would go 8lbs easy, I was told there were two over 10, I couldn't find them. The water is up nice and should be in great shape for the tuesday opener.
  2. Dyna-King professional for me, been tying on the same one for over 30 yrs. Dyna-King makes some nice vices for 200$ and less.
  3. I sell Al's flies in my shop, they work great don't they PM me if you want some.
  4. As soon as I get back from France, I'll be down on Crane, the next day
  5. I hate that, Chuck was a really nice guy, I met him the first time 30 years ago down at Roaring River, I sold his wife, her first Triangle taper Lee Wulff line, really sorry he is gone, we lost A good fellow fisherman, oh well he is in a better place, with his wife, and I'll bet the are down on the river.
  6. Crane has been nice all winter, a bit low for my taste, still in decent shape. MK & Russ have been telling me all winter they were going to come down and show me how to fish Crane. MK was going to show me how to catch a big one out of Crane. Glad you had a good trip, the pics looked great.
  7. Roads are fine, parking lots are still messy
  8. It will be fine, just don't drive like an idiot, the roads were fine when I left at 3, but it was snowing and it still is, 5" expected tonight. I will be there in the morning, in my little Subaru, so I'm sure your Yukon will make it.
  9. Very low
  10. I caught this nice trout on one of Mark's 7 1/2 1 wts, the rod casts and fishes well, great lite rod for the money.
  11. Go see Charlie Reading, he'll fix you right up, he has a great selection to choose from, I think he may have a little bit of everything in that shop.
  12. I've got one of his 1wt rods, and it is a nice casting rod, reminds me of the older IM6 loomis rods, great rod for the money.
  13. Yep fished there this morning, water very low. No trout anywhere, go fish some where else Nothing but creek chubs.
  14. This is what it looks like before 14 trout, and after 14 trout BWO's have been good most weekends this winter season. #22's like this one have been best for me on most days.
  15. It has barbell eyes, rubber legs, and it started out white, lots of trout and time in the Water turned it sort of cream colored, I tied it, so you'll have to tie one, if you want one like it, it is tied on a #08 hook. Apricot, and lt. Roe eggs are working best for me.
  16. Fishing has been good all weekend, caught a lot of trout on caddis and B.W.O's I caught a lot of trout today on eggs, and bunny leeches, I caught this one just as I was going up to eat lunch, caught it on my 44" Abercrombie & Fitch banty outfit. 6X tippet, and a whitish colored bunny leech. This rod is a 5wt and I landed this trout in less than 2 minutes, quick pic and off it went back to be caught again. Older vintage glass rods can be a lot of fun.
  17. Yes, next time you are down I'll tell you where it was, nothing there now at all.
  18. TFO rod, 109.00 decent reel 39.00 or down, line 20.00 (333 cortland) leaves quite a bit left for 2 leaders, 3 spools of tippet, and a packet of silver rings, which will make the leaders last for 3 or 4 months each, you can do it eaisly for 200.00, skip Cabelas and BP if your needing real help, go to your local shop, you'll get as good a deal, and if something messes up, you'll get better service.
  19. Crane creek is fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it every time you get to go.
  20. Glad the rod worked out for you, blue wing olives were the ticket for me today, I think I landed around 30 today, most on bwo's. Dry fly fishing was great today for me.
  21. You are so very right.
  22. My new years resolution is to try to fish more, and not gripe about not getting to fish enough.
  23. The tippet rings work really good with dries or nymphs I just ordered 2000 more of them I sell a lot of them, I use the 2mm size, but the 3&4mm will work
  24. fishing is fri, sat, sun, and monday 8-4
