    Kc To Dam

Fished Wednesday, good bite of a football jig in 22-32 fow. Graphed a lot of different points and caught fish on about all of them. Pulled up on one long flat runout in Indian and saw them tight to the bottom on the graph. Spun the boat around and just flat hammered them for about 15 minutes. I had heard the smallmouth bite was on and I did catch several but I caught way more kentuckys than anything and they were magnums! Several nice 3-3 1/2 lbers. 5/8oz when it was calm than went to 3/4 oz as the wind picked up a bit. Just an awesome day to be out there, the fish were just a bonus! I really keyed on rock transitions and that's were all the fish were holding. Really have to pay attention to your electronics when they are that tight to the bottom. Best of luck, God bless.
  2. Do you peg the weight? I would assume you do or it would fall weird through the trees and on the deep fall unless you let it fall on semi tight line
  3. Do they not make a heavier jig?
  4. Every time I'm out I have to relocate these fish. When you find them it's on though! I'm catching almost all of my fish on 5/8 oz FB jigs, 3/4 if the wind picks up. I am finding the biggest concentrations on seemingly (no nothing banks). The fish are holding on small rock transitions or stumps in 15-26ft of water. It may take several casts to get the school fired up but when you do it's lights out. A lot of fish are up off the bottoms and hit the football jig on the initial fall. They are coughing up 2-3inch thread fin shad, I have caught a couple really nice fish that have had bigger thread fin shad in their throats. I have thrown a variety of shad imitators, swarming hornet/fluke, scrounger jig, spoon ect and I don't know why but I CANNOT get them to eat it. It is maddening because they are munching shad. Sometimes they come up just a few at a time and chase shad, I have seen some really good ones coming up but cannot get them to eat top water or any other shad imitators. Maybe I am just missing that bite. They should eat a spoon but won't for me. However they kill that football jig so oh well. I fished shallow some the other day and caught fish in 10ft of water or less around wood cover but they were skiiiiiiiiiiiiiny fish. Healthy fish have been out deep. Best of luck, I hope you really catch them. I have done a lot more ideling and looking with my electronics when fishing but it pays off when you find them.
  5. There are plenty of good keeper spots in the lake. I think that all these 13-14inch fish are just the result of that good spawn a few years ago. I'd rather have a 15-16 inch spot vs a 15-16 inch largemouth any day in a tournament. Those suckers are footballs. This time of year you catch some skinny largemouths. These spots are always fat and healthy.
  6. Wanting to fish this tournament so bad!!! I'll throw my money in one of these days! Lots of good fisherman and it would be exciting. Hope to see a guy like Stacy or Kelly win it. The river arms are pretty darn good right now so I would think that would really play to a guy like Kelly's strengths, he's pretty tough to beat when the James is on.
  7. Really like the vicious 15lb for most water conditions. I'll go 17 if there is any color or I'm fishing trees and lots of brush. That line is really tough and abrasion resistant and you can't beat the prices on tacklewarehouse for the bulk spools
  8. Fished the millcreek tournament Friday night and three boats mine included were running within 100yards of each other when a cigarette boat going the opposite way decided it would be kosher to cut right in between us. He was probably 50yards from me head on and I had to turn sharply and power down to keep from hitting them. I threw my hands up to which all 6 passengers gave me the bird. Frustrating and unsafe!
  9. Fished yesterday for the first time in a month or so. Ran from mill creek up the white, threw FB jig and worm in 15 -30 ft of water caught a lot of fish but most were shorts. Fished the mill creek night tournament and had a quick limit but just could not upgrade. Had 8 keepers most were line bumpers (not good). Had a great time fishing with my brother all the same, the moon has just looked incredible this week. Very little boat traffic other that fisherman which was nice to see. Fished mainly points, rock transition and brush piles. Fish were scattered and you would catch maybe 3-4 at every stop but never found a big school of them. Had a mixed bag of LM/SM/K's.
  10. Fished Saturday and they were scattered from 25fow to 1ft. Caught them on football jigs, buzz bait, DD crainckbaits and flipping. Only 4 keepers very tough day for me. Couldn't get them dialed in, never saw any good sized schools on the graph and really never found a stretch shallow. One or two here and one or two there. Figured they would get shallow with the lake on the rise. Best of luck sorry for the vague report but that was the tone of my day!
  11. People need to start looking for their gear to possibly show up on Craig's list. Hopefully these guys will be caught!!!
  12. I go through a few every trip. Keeps fin and feather in business. Lots of chompers 3/4 oz FB jigs are buried all over Tablerock because of me. Have a feeling I'm not the only one.
  13. I take my SHO to hydrotec. Great service!!

    Tube Colors ?

Agree I've seen color make a huge difference!
  15. Did you see many Bass? What depth? Size? Ect. Always wanted to dive!!
  16. Well keep the good reports coming! Nothing more fun than fishing be it tournament or not. Thanks for the info Josh!
  17. You need to be fishing some tournaments. 18lbs in late June is pretty tough to beat on Tablerock or any lake right now. If you are catching 18lbs per trip you have them really dialed in. Put some cash in your pocket, I'd be looking for a tournament!
  18. Kinda dirty for spear fishing in DC area

    Great Day

Great day yesterday, took a guy who hasn't fished a lot. Gave him a shakey head on a spinning rod and turned him loose. Graphed a couple big schools of fish on points up white river around Baxter. I was throwing a 3/4 oz FB jig fish were 20-30ft deep. Lots of nice keepers. Mostly LM and K's with a couple brown fish. After they stopped biting our bottom baits we caught them good on a drop shot. Lots of boat traffic but didn't hurt the fishing. God Bless hope you all catch em. Gonna be on Bullshoals pre fishing for a tourney this weekend.
  20. When I first moved to Springfield I fished Tablerock in the spring. I bought myself a custom painted rouge from fin and feather (on my college income). Whacked em probably had 23-24lbs including a spot that went over 5lbs. Hooked about a 3ft long gar that fought like a billfish. Ended up taking my prize rouge man was I disappointed. Still hate those things!!!
  21. When they pull water it makes a world of difference. It positions the fish in such a way that they become much more predictable. It is a lot easier to really find schools of bass that are bunched up. I think it really gets good when both beaver and Tr are releasing. No generation causes fish to really spread out. Generation positions the bait which positions the fish.
  22. Great if you have kids or an impatient wife!!
  23. If you want whites in June find them busting shad in the morning, once they go down stay on them with your graphs and catch them on jigging spoons. Pretty easy to nail down.
  24. Don't know why anyone would eat bass in a lake so full of walleye and crappie. It's like having your choice of hot dogs or steak. No brainer for me.
  25. Went out fun fishing yesterday which I haven't done much of this year. Not that pre-fishing isn't fun but went out for numbers yesterday. Put in around 9 am ran up the white looking for bed fish. Found tons of them in about every cove we stopped in. Had probably 60 fish on shakey heads and top water. Those fish were just locked on the beds tight. Green pumpkin on the shallow beds and white on the deeper beds (just so we could see). Lots of fat K's and Smallies, had one pocket where we caught several nice Largemouth biggest maybe went 4 1/4 best 5 12-13lbs but man was it fun and easy. Not a tournament pattern but if you just want to have a fun day with your wife or kids this is the time to do it. Saw several pairs on the beds. 3/16 oz spot remover, and probably any plastic that you wanna stick on it will work, 8lb FC on the old fairy wand. God bless and I hope you all have as good of a time as we did. On a more somber note I saw my first jet skier yesterday (so it begins)!
