  1. Darn Brad I need a lesson, we only had 15 keepers in two days of fishing. We had planned on coming to the weigh in but I had it in my head it was at 3 instead of 2 so looked wrapped up when we drove by a little after 3. Was wanting to hear reports. We caught lots of shorts but very few keeper. Most came about 20 ft in brush .Maybe we can make it up the next time. g
  2. plan on camping Thursday evening until Monday hope to find a crappie or two will let everyone know. g
  3. Right now Ponnca to Pruitt would be a drag water is too low or I would be on it rather than this computer. The strech from Carver to Woollum has some extremely long holes. Anywhere from 65 bridge down is usually floatable. If you are committed to 2 or more days the run from Rush to the White is excellent fewer folks but no take outs, with current generation on white would have to float down to Shedds bridge or North Fork to take out. check http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/state-summary/state/AR/ as they keep current on water levels
  4. What are the shoals like? just depends on generation, but one of the best places to fish in the world. Just talk to Gary he will hook you up.
  5. This time of year I would add a yellow sallie and maybe a olive damsiel emerger, the caddis and parachute adams are always killer extra oxygen is handy.... have fun g
  6. this problem can be corrected: http://springfield.craigslist.org/spo/1732529362.html
  7. Larry's folks may have been from the ozarks....bless his heart he is at least interested....
  8. I would also suggest Ernies. It does not take long to swap units. The only difference on my is the prop motor was built with shift in handle and did not have the manual shift lever on the side of the motor, that is what the jet attaches to for fwd and reverse, but on mine there was a plug and I was able to add a shift lever. I have both units complete with water pump assembly and can change them in about 30 min. I like to take the jet down onece a year and adjust. It does require about 5" lift, the problem for me with jack plates is weight on the hydr. http://www.jetdoctor.net/index.php Have another info spot will try to post later. g
  9. Do you think a person could use them one handed or with limited use of one hand as a helper? My oldest son has CP with limited use of his left hand. He loves to fish but has to have help to retie or change lures. Currently I will rig him 3-5 rigs at home then he does what he can. Davy Wotton showed me the Davy knot one handed, but my son has not been able to master it.
  10. Well found a 5th Wheel, have a cash offer from a dealer will take Monday if no one needs it.... $11,950 til then
  11. My wife is wanting to go to a 5th wheel, as no interest thus far I will list on Craig's list today at 12500
  12. I am not much of a salesman, but the travel trailer is in excellent condition, we have spent very little time in it. NADA Avg. retail is $14,330 I am thinking 13,250 should be a fair price.
  13. left one out
  14. Going to try the pictures:
  15. Sorry running late, will be Friday before I can get it done. g
  16. I think a put a picture on, it is light built to be towed by smaller vech. Will try to furnish more info Thursday. g
  17. Hi We have a 2006 Coachman Captiva 22EX, it is 22f. long with a rear slide so the bed slides out giving you more room. It has duct heat and air, the oven has never been used, it has never been lived in or smoked in. I will be back in town Thursday evening and could email pictures etc if you are interested. We traded our Sub. for a pickup and would like to get a 5th wheel. Would rather sell to an individual below book than hagle trying to trade with a dealer. g
  18. Have not floated the Buffalo or Brothers canoes but sure they are good boats. If you are wanting a boat to use both tandem and solo I would suggest an old town camper 15, big enough for two, but light enough (57#)for one to handle and can sit backwards in the front seat makes a decent solo, or can load up for overnighters. A discovery 15 8 is less expensive but has the molded seats (that can be replaced with web for abot $50 on ebay) to allow sitting backwards in the front seat during solo. It weighs about 80# so still manageable for most solo on off portage. I run an old town pack for solo day trips and use a discovery 158 on overnights and tandem day trips. If I had the $$ a camper 15 would replace the discovery but not worth the differnce right now to trade. I am sure brothers or buffalo have similar boats, but I only want to talk what I know not what I might think. If you are even considering allum. spend the money and rent one and a abs or royalex. Most people who love allum have never ran a good canone. I had 2 allum, but rented an old town discovery one day on a trip, came home and sold them bought my first old town.thats my 2 cents. g
  19. Paddle Jon's (key word Paddle) and Jets do not belong in the same sentence. As the paddle jons are uplifted on both ends to allow handling and floating it does not allow the jet to work under higher power as it dows on the flat bottoms or river jons. The other problem is the smallest jet I am aware of is a 25hp power head resulting in a 18-20 hp jet, most paddle jons that is about double its motor rating. I have tried my 25/20 merc jet on both of my paddle jon's (17 & 21 ft) it did not work well, too much motor weight on the 17, and turned the 21 into a plow because it raised the front too much when it pushed the slope at the back down. I have spent too many hours rasing lowering, jacking etc. if you could run a hydralic jack plate I think it would work excellent, but then too much weight. g
  20. If you are looking at only one boat, and only smaller rivers the Blazer Paddle Jon is the only one I am aware of on the market that will float similar to a canoe. That said, I have a 17' lowe paddle jon, that handles and floats similar to an alm. canoe, however I would not put more than a 5 hp motor on it, think it may be rated 7.5 but too much weight, I generally run a 4 hp. on it. I have a 21' x 36" big river john, it handles the 9.9 just fine, is at home on med. rivers to lakes. g
  21. Might also try the Greene County Libary Republic Branch, they recently moved to a new facility and may not have the meeting room booked.
  22. I picked up one of those 35 gallon plastic barrells at a junk shop, air tight seal, my tent, clothes etc. stay dry, easy to open and close sits in the middle of the canoe fine best dry bag I have ever owned. Plenty of snake bite medicine, just in case.
  23. How early do I need to show up,what do I need to bring? may be a test of will.
  24. My goal is to fish more and more often. A bad day fishing is better than a good day working. And maybe float at least 70 miles on the Buffalo.
