Drove to the river on Monday. We intended to fish two days with Cranor's. We checked into the motel there and drove into Gasville for dinner.
We went out a 7:30 Tuesday morning. By 10:00 we had caught 6 nice, but not great, browns and two or three non-stocker rainbows. (pictures later.)
About then I began to feel dizzy, clammy, and the others in the boat could hear my stomach. I asked them to take me in.
As soon as I got out of the boat, I realized I did not have the strength to walk up the hill. I sat down, and they used the fourwheeler to take me to my room. Once in the door, I experienced The Single Most Disgusting Day of My Life.
I asked them to call emergency services, which took me into the Mountain Home Regional Hospital.
Food poisoning, which had caused the gastrointestinal attack which resulted in drastic dehydration. They pumped me full of 2 liters of fluids by IV and held me five hours. I am home now, a full day early. I know I will receive medical bills, and I have a badger of a wife wife lecturing me on hydration. I need to call the resort and pay them for the room. And tip the poor people who did cleanup. (No one ever hired on to clean that place up.)
Don't eat tamales in Gasville.
