Yeah I have seen those. Those are not restrictions, those are what you have to do so the animal can sustain life. I mean yes technically they are restrictions but as long as you keep out feed and water at least once a day, you are in compliance. http://chronic-wasting-disease.blogspot.com/2013/09/missouri-state-records-show-gaps-in.html Here is a good read for you and what is really going on. And nobody has clean hands with this. But we are getting away from the point of the initial post.

It is all voluntary at this point. And most don't participate with even the minimum of good stewardship. So if your friends did actually do all of that good for them. But even at that, that is just doing business. There are no restrictions on fencing. No restictions on carcass' or parts there of. It is pretty much willy nilly. It is somewhat split between the MDC and MDA at this point and that is causing some of the problems.

Uhh yeah its the same Bill. Its the Bill I am talking about. I see no reason to wait until the very end to try and stop this. With the current political climate, we could very well loose. You do understand that it is those very farms that introduced CWD into the wild population due to no restrictions? The wild deer populaiton brings in about $1 Billion dollars to this state. I can't see any reason to let a $20 million at best entity, with practicaly no employees, dictate the future of the thousands of mom and pops across the state.

What Would Be Your Bucket List Waterfowl Hunt?
Chief Grey Bear replied to JohnP's topic in Migratory Birds
I agree on the Harlequin!!! -
What this is, is an amendment to the constitution of this state that requires legislative approval of all rules and regulations of all state angencies. So like Chris stated, it won't matter what the biologist say, it will depend on what the money says. But you can also choose to live in the land of JD's world. Because that is the whole reason the legislature wants control. Because up to this point they have not been able to influence the MDC. That is why there is also a battle over control of Missouri's deer population. The republican controlled legislature is working to have deer come under the control of the Missouri Dept of Ag. Only so the 30 or so deer farms in this state, as I reported to you guy's just a few weeks ago, will not have to follow any regulations set forth by the MDC. For which they have no control over. Yet.

This is getting real! We are passed the "This won't ever happen" stage. I just received this email from a contact in the DU organization. I know over the years, I have been posting about this, and though there has been some concern, most here turn the other way. If you think the MDC is poorly managed now, you sit back and let this pass, it will be one of the biggest mistakes we as a generation have made in regards to conservation in this state. Regardless of what you think of me personally, I urge each and everyone of you to contact my letter or by phone your local representative. Below is the email I just received. I have been keeping abreast of this for the last month or so but I have not said much here. Now is the time to act my friends! This issue is getting serious. SJR42 passed the committee and is expected to go to the senate floor in the next 2-3 weeks. A house version has been introduced. Attached is a couple of sample letters; one by The Missouri Chapter of the Wildlife Society and the other by the MO. Chapter of the American Forestry Society. DU provided a statement at the Feb. 4th Senate hearing that took place at the capital. Anyone who disagrees with a rule or regulation put forth by MDC could bring it up for review. I could see how daily bag limits, length limits for fish, deer regulations, etc. could all be challenged by the legislature. For waterfowl regulations, we didnt know what the Feds would allow until August, so it was always tight to develop season recommendations and get them to the Commission in time for the seasons to be set announced and published. I have no idea what would happen if someone decided in September that they didnt like the waterfowl regulations. It would be a real mess.

You are right Ollie, they are long overdue! I think there's a lot of regulations that are long overdue.

I agree on the trotline Jug line issue. But I' on Grand lake especially, what about the dock styrofoam? That crap is everywhere too. But you can also blame GRDA for that. They prostituted themselves out for revenue. And the lake is paying for it. And another issue is all the big catfish coming out of that lake. It seems to keep on producing but, I don't know how. I remember in the 70s going with dad and his friends to the city park at Miami. It would be solid fishermen on both sides of the river. We didn't start spoon billing out of a boat until in the 90s. I can remember both sides Neosho and Spring being full of boats. Of course some of them were white bass fishing too. But I think you're right over the last few years the popularity seems to have also grown.

You're correct the term extinct is extreme. But if you look at the restrictions that have been placed over the last decade on the paddlefish on Grand lake, the population must be plummeting.
-
Proof that they have raped that resource almost to extinction. Maybe they should take some of that money that they are stealing from the citizens and stock more paddlefish.

Favorite Wiggle Wart Rod?
Chief Grey Bear replied to Bluff-Bassin's topic in General Angling Discussion
There is one fella on here that uses two different rods depending on if he is using 1/16 oz or 1/8. You know what they saw about a fool and his money..... -
I have an I phone and don't use any apps. At the bottom of the page you should see where it says "Full Version" or something like that. Click that and it will look like you are on your home PC. Now you can post pics normally. Although sometimes they will rotate on you.

My Spinning Reels Keep Working Loose
Chief Grey Bear replied to Ham's topic in General Angling Discussion
Toothpicks and even matchsticks have worked. Folded paper has too. -
I have had quite a few PM me for the scoop floating my area. They want spec's on what stretches, baits and all kinds of details. I tell them I'll do them one better. That we can meet up and float together. But all they want is all the details. No dice! Unless I know you.
-
I really enjoyed the whole video. It's not any different the the way I or some of you float now. What I really found fascinating was the last 5 minutes or so and the interview! How I would love to take a news crew on a float there, or anywhere now. What a great opportunity to share the current state of the rivers and trespass laws and what needs to be done about them.
