  1. I'm glad you asked. I knocked over the glass I was using to cut the biscuits. It broke as I was grabbing for it and sliced my palm really good. But I haven't slowed yet. As you can see by the can, I'm getting supper going in the crock. Pork is seasoned and sizzling for pork tacos!
  2. Today is my wife's birthday. So I rolled out some biscuits, made some gravy, and served her breakfast in bed. I'm headed to the ER!
  3. Wonder why they call it Flexseal then?? I used it on some duck waders. Flexed pretty good. My bad. I called Flextsteel. It's Flexseal.
  4. What do you think about Flexsteel on this? Its not the bottom. Could work and its only $12 a can.
  5. Dang!
  6. I love the TV Salisbury steaks too. Every so often ill buy the box of just them and make my own mashed potatoes. Usually no left overs.
  7. Some will recall I shot a Goldeneye the other day waterfowl hunting. I had never eaten one until today. Im not a fan a eating divers since an episode a couple years ago when Dylan and I tried eating a Coot he shot. Nastiest dang bird I ever tasted!! Just absolutly foul fowl!! Yuck! So today I decided I would brave eating the Goldeneye since I'm by myself. Dylan is hunting with some friends and mom and daughter are at Volleyball practice. My favorite way to eat any duck, next to Duane's Duck Poppers, is to just fry in skillet with S&P. Quick, easy, delicous! Just a few moments to quickly sear the outside and you're done! So that's what I did and it was great! Goldeneye will now be in my rotation of great tasting fowl!
  8. That's all great. Believe what you want. But when the favor is returned, you shouldnt get all butt hurt over it. I don't know anything about you missing a payment. So don't say I called you a deadbeat and it's some BS reason they do it. It shouldnt have to be explained to you why you should take responsibility of your responsibilities. Spin how ever you want though. That's all you ever do. Spin it to where you are always the victim of the big bad government. Yeah Wow!
  9. I've always head from those that study this, humans seem to only be able to survive for just a few short moments in frigid waters. But what do they know. Just a bunch of do nothing money wasters.
  10. You are just someone that no matter what the facts are about them, the hatred runs deep. So please continue to say whatever you want about them. Just know it will be returned. The MSA is an awesome group of outdoorsmen. They do a ton of conservation work on the behalf of the Ozark Smallmouth.
  11. I certainly agree that colder water has more oxygen. That has been proven in the scientific community. I have a differnt thought on your second point. Or maybe it's more of a question. But being fish are cold blooded, do they have to expend more energy to get the same or equal "movement" if you will, as they do in warm water conditions? And this only applies to warm water species such as bass, which though can live and survive in cooler spring waters, are not designed to live in cold water areas like trout. When hooked, is a bass actually burning more calories and energy to attempt the same escape maneuvers? Sure we on the other end of the line may feel a difference in the amount of power of the fish, but is he actually using more enery due to the fact it is colder? I think you are right that they return to their place of shelter and begin the recouperation process. And I too think the colder water conditions aid in this process. One other point I think that helps is the reduction of different bacterias that could harm them. One thing to consider when fishing these conditions that you touched on is that these fish will spend far less enery foraging. Meaning they will eat far less often. And one reason is that to do so takes much more energy since the main diet sources are also scarce. As for your second point, I really don't know. I haven't researched that part of the equation. Interesting discussion though.
  12. I have a hard time not preparing that like skillet steak. Flash fry with just salt and pepper.
  13. I have taken the time to explain. And I am not the only one. There have been many others. You just continue to argue using baseless, factless opinion as it were the gospel. If you actually spent a tenth of the amount of time researching your wild claims of massive mismanagement, stupidity and laziness of the MDC as you do roaming the Internet boasting of your superior intelligence, you might learn just a little bit more. But here's the deal. Bash the MDC all you want. It's easy to do when they ain't around. But don't start crying when it happens to you.
  14. Knows more about the MDC than the MDC. Cant read and understand a simple chart.
  15. Cleaning out the freezer today.
  16. Dang!!!
  17. Looking good Gav! I have my grill fired up today too! Taters, cauliflower and carrots at the moment. T-Bones on deck. Found this the other day and have been eating it by the spoonfull today. Wow is it good! If your store carries the Ott's brand, look for it.
  18. Thanks fellas. We have enjoyed 18 years of hunting, fishing and camping. And we're going for a 100 more! You are spot on Rick! That memory will live with me forever! And it will be shared over many campfire meals!
  19. I had some time off this week and did some hunting with my son and my uncle. I scouted some areas Monday and met up with my uncle on Tuesday and scouted some more. Honkers everywhere, not so many quack quack. So we decided to head to Schell-Osage and try to draw. We forgot that the North Zone closed the day before! It was packed! We had Dylan pick the pill and a poison pill it was. There were 55 parties vying for 33??? spots. He drew 53. See ya later. So we head to Truman. Not a lot of action but Dylan did score one drake Mallard. And what was really cool about that was after he shot it, he looked at me and said "I should have let you shoot that." A complete roll reversal of a father-son conversation. He said that because I had picked up a 912 Veriomax this year and had just got a choke for it and hadn't shot it yet. I just smiled great big at him and said don't worry a thing about it. He can take all the shots he wants! The next day we went to Stockton to see what we could stir up. Not much. A handful of Mallards but not reall workable. Most had other ideas and the others would look but not commit. I did have one Goldeneye come in. He left in a bodybag. We called it about 11:00 and went to town for some grub and drifted back home.
  20. That is how it's done! Memories never to be forgotten were created and will be shared for many, many years. I would also venture to say an outdoorsman seed was planted and will grow prosperly. Congrats Marty.
  21. 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the hills The kinfolk were drinkin' and tending their stills The longjohns were hung by the chimney with care No stockings were found, just underwear The children were nestled so high in their bunks Their quilts made of skins from rabbits and skunks Granny with her false teeth and gun on her knee Was waiting for Santa as she sat by the tree From out of the barn there arose such a noise We thought it was Grandpa drinkin' with the boys But what to my wandering eye should appear It was just cousin Cleatus in mama's brassiere And then from the rooftop we heard it at last Like the sound of thunder or a shot gun blast We have Christmas dinner, it's finally here Granny kidnapped Santa while we shot his deer Venison all covered with onions for stew And even old Santa enjoyed some too His belly was full when he walked out the door But he couldn't resist when we offered him more Well that's the story of our Christmas here Merry Christmas to all 'til the same time next year Note: No Hillbillies were harmed in the writing of this poem...
  22. So I can expect some pics of grilled fish tacos coming up later??
  23. Ha ha!! Youre right! I'm double cool! James Coburn/Steve McQueen cool! But I like you. I'd love for you and Ness to join my elite club of coolness! Have any suds yet?
  24. Thanks Jere. Glad you enjoyed it.
  25. Right here I was with him
