  1. That is where I like using them too. You can have a blast tossing them all day on a smaller creek.
  2. Bullbutter!!!!!!!! It goes the law of physics that a bass with its head half out of the water, will not create some motion of that water.
  3. I understand that being a flat lander prohibits normal concentration, so I will try help you understand. God willing of course. Let's say you posted about a trip you just took and you posted some pictures of that trip for all to see. And let's say that some of those pictures were actually some that you had really taken, say, a couple of years earlier. Only you didn't say they were from a couple of years earlier. Is that dishonest??
  4. What if someone uses pictures in a report that were taken years earlier inconjuction with pictures taken on the actual trip and leaves the perception of the reader to believe they were all taken on the same trip????
  5. Just thought that beared repeating.
  6. Not any more. I see the discription of the photos on the site has changed. Exactly.
  7. He was one hell of a man and a true blessing to the fishing world. I spoke with the new owners of his shop a couple of weeks ago and news of his decline was deeply saddening. God Bless Mr. Jim Rogers.
  8. North Fork is really a warm prairie stream. It is locally known as a great catfish stream. It flows through a lot of row crop territory. It has high mud banks on both sides. Just about everything opposite of what a smallmouth would like. Actually for some odd reason, it is actually called Muddy Creek where it flows through Lamar. I think you are asking.... When are you and I going..... I don't have any vaction time this year but, I am game anytime to wet a line with a fellow Smallmouth Snob. June is a great time for some brownie fishing over here! What 2 accesses are you looking at on Spring River?? I know one you are looking at is at La Russell. If your other is Kellogg lake at Carthage, the access to the river is City owned, as well as the lake. And for that matter the lake is not a part of the river. It is a big 25 acre pond. Near Talbot, the river takes two different routes that create a huge, many, many hundred acre "island". There are two parking lots within the vicinity of both arms of the river but no actual river access.
  9. From Springfield, just pic a direction and go. Find running water and you will have brownies. There numerous smaller wade creeks and float streams all around your area just waiting for you to toss a line! Now get out there and get busy!!
  10. North Fork (as it is called by us locals) has niether smallmouth nor MDC access.
  11. I thought you was going to say "When I was a guide on Kentucky Lake.....
  12. Hey Mark, holler at me any time and we'll get a float in. It doens't seem if there is much interest if getting a float going. mitch - bring that jet on over here! It'll be a blast!
  13. If you plan your vacation time to check out new smallmouth water......you might be a SMSNOB! If you roll your eyes at a trout fisherman, even though you dress just like him.....you might be a SMSNOB
  14. Hey, don't kock it. The more that go there means less on my rivers!!!
  15. I guess we could if we have enough interest. They had started doing them over east, so I was just gonna kinda lay back but, yeah, if you guy's want to head over this way, we sure as heck can. Anyone want to start signing on??? I know a pretty famous section to float if you guy's want????
  16. Not much of a story really. I was turkey hunting with my uncle and my son, well they hunted, I fished. As always, we talk quite a bit and at great lenth about numerous conservation type issues. This year the main focus seemed to be the smallmouth. The main subject was a report on a study on SBBSMA's. We just didn't quite agree on all the interpitations of the data. Which in reality he is right but, i just don't agree with the end results. Anywho, it was all in jest. I will wear the title proudly and know that it is much more fashionable than being a trout snob!
  17. Speckled Kingsnake. I haven't seen a whole lot of them over the years. Nice pics.
  18. Heck, I missed this some how. Anyway nice going. Loved all the pics. MMmmmmmmmmm, smallie steak sammich! I love'em that size!!
  19. ...called a Smallmouth Snob! And after I thought about it.....I had to agree. And today, as I was thinking about it a little more and enjoying my new status.....I thought I would have a license plate that goes.....SMB-SOB. I think that says it all.
  20. Webworms- https://www.google.c...iw=1084&bih=442 Bagworms - https://www.google.c...iw=1084&bih=442 Just for info.
  21. Bagworms are found mostly on evergreens. Mainly juniper bushes found in front yards. But occasionally you will see them in other areas.
  22. I love watching Jerry. I used to watch his show all the time. He showed one of his vintage films from the early days and warned and profusely apologized for his friend in the film who smoked. Heck, even Andy Griffith smoked in Mayberry. Its just the way it was. I hope all of watched this film. It is a great study in the life of a smallmouth bass with some outstanding footage.
  23. I really enjoyed this film. It gives great insight into all of the exhausting work and great lengths the MDC employee's went to for our moments of enjoyment. I hope you all enjoy this.
  24. Don't know of anyone that called those "bagworms". Those are "webworms".
