  1. I'm still amazed you don't have your own top shelf fishing show.
  2. Way to go! It can be rather entertaining fishing that river on a weekend.
  3. Sadly, we have finally lost her. The flooding we had a few weeks ago was just too much. I paid my respects to her and now christen her the Robert E. Lee Natural Bridge.
  4. Very nice! Nothing rates higher than getting kids involved in the outdoors!
  5. Poachers are going to poach. Whether that be over limits, undersized fish, gigging, or closed seasons. All the enforcement in world is not going to stop it. One only needs to look at the War on Drugs. The question is, at what rate is this poaching happening? Is it out pacing legal harvest? So will adding more restrictive regulations be a positive move even without an increase in enforcement? Most definitely. For every poacher I'd lay good money there are 1000 honest fisherman that will abide by the regulations.
  6. I think the 5 is s good all around size. I like those and the 7's.
  7. I have no illusion that locals do the bulk of any poaching. But to what extent? This thread derailed long ago, it's just nobody knows it.
  8. And that's exactly what everyone should do. I applaud you! But when we start flinging unsubstantiated claims at Jim Bob and his fictitious posse, we loose all credibility.
  9. Well here come the stupid statements.
  10. I think they will work just the same. I haven't tried them yet.
  11. Ain't nothing better than a fried, smoked Bologna sandwich! If your Bologna stinks when you fry it, it needs to be buzzard food anyway!
  12. You are not far off there. Some people put way more into looks than the fish do.
  13. Well I have to admit I like poking a stick every now and then. Glad I haven't posted those Bologna and cheese sandwichs I've been eating!
  14. For somebody that hates this thread so much, you sure spend a lot of time here.
  15. I almost don't want to use them they look so good!
  16. Stunted? From everything posted on this forum, it's the Northern strain that is stunted. Haven't you been reading over the years here all the crying and complaining against the MDC because they won't institute a state wide C&R on the hallowed Smallmouth because it is not able to artificially obtain it 25 inch potential? Nobody in the native waters of the Neosho is crying the blues. But it was nice of you to toss that out there.
  17. The more you keep posting, the more it mirrors exactly the things I have said over the years. I hope you get further along than I did.
  18. Only on Bourbon Street.
  19. Yeah, those were excellent deer hunting story's the last three months weren't they?
  20. The vast majority of material in the Conservationist is submitted by the readers. Feel free to write up all the stories you want on stream smallmouth or lake management for largemouth for publication and present them for consideration. Growing up, we had a yearly subscription. After moving out on my own, I have contiued my own yearly subscription. So for the last almost half century, I can say without any concern, the Conservationist is not biased towards any one demographic of the outdoor world.
  21. I don't know anyone that has given a bonfide conservation group that actually practices conservation, as you have stated, the finger.
  22. If the MDC doesn't say you can, then you can't. So I'm safe.
