  1. Ok next Fall if you see them go to roost, go in hollering throwing rocks. Scatter them. Go there before first light, they will come in to a Call. Shoot a Bird, set for a bit then call again, you will be able to get your second Bird. Took many Guys out, got their Birds then got mine. I like #6 Shot, just because it will kill and there is more shot. I use an old Muzzleloader and 25 yards is my limit. oneshot
  2. BS I see far less Deer than in the '70's and seen more Turkeys in late '80's than now. I remember seeing true Herds of Deer and Flocks of Turkeys. Haven't seen either for years. oneshot
  3. Ok if your fishing a Major Lake and can drive to where you are fishing would you rather fish the creeks running into the Lake or the Coves? From the bank. oneshot
  4. Ok in Spring after a rain I can pick up Night Crawlers by the hundreds. Figure go below the house catch plenty of fish for me at my wife. Like I told my wife the Lord has a way of taking care of us. oneshot
  5. Russians in Springfield? oneshot
  6. Oh man Hog Molley take Scale, fillet and Score, take Corn Meal, salt and Pepper, work down in every score and Deep Fry. Oh man that is good. I'm thinking on Smallmouth they was cut down to one in possession and not sure on length. My wife says with me there is not much that an't food. Seen a Guy one time catch a bunch of Largemouth before season. Throw them back of his Pickup. Went to his house week later and they was still in back of his Pickup. No I'm serious not messing if it's Legal and I put it on the Table that is just me that is the reason I hunt and Fish. Lots of people don't care for Squirrel, heck I found easy way to clean and cook them where they are tender, always welcome at my Table. My Father in Law thought I was trying to poison his Daughter and Grandkids some of the things we would eat. Hey just have to know how to fix them. oneshot
  7. Ok I know they changed regulations on Smallmouth but having trouble to find. I'm thinking 15 inch , limit 1. Someone tell me for sure what they are? My wife fried the fish up yesterday and the best eating in a long time. Kind of makes keeping the Cabin by Truman Lake something to reconsider. Getting Nightcrawlers after Spring Rains don't have to worry about bait. Nothing to go out and pick up a few hundred. oneshot
  8. You know I found they cut the limit down to one. An't that a bunch bull. Caught it on Worms below the bridge. Oh forgot when they quit making them out of meat. oneshot
  9. Didn't catch but one meal. Caught one 18 inch Smallie, Goggle Eye and a good size Hog Molley. Couple other Guys down there fishing, they weren't having much Luck just catching Trout. oneshot
  10. I haven't been down but I think they are biting because been a bunch fishing . You do know they have to be 7 inches now? oneshot
  11. Catch a few Smallies while I fish for Suckers but can only keep one now. oneshot
  12. Didn't see any Suckers which should be at the Top. oneshot
  13. Well not sure if KCfisher was down there but there was several fishing just below the park today. oneshot
  14. Not able to Deer hunt so I shot these by the house. Actually the Squirrel wasn't any Good. The Rabbit was ok. oneshot
  15. We like Suckers over any other fish. that is what I've been fishing for lately. Carp are fun to catch but not the best eating. I've intentionally fished for them but never spent too much time. Just Bait up Hook, no Hair Rig. Regular Medium Action Rods. I fish mainly for meat so like I say mostly fish for Suckers but also Catfish and Brim. oneshot
  16. There has been Buffalo Bow Fished over 40 pounds. Most Bow Fishing hit the shallow water in the coves. Me yes I chum, wait for them to start feeding, then cast in the deeper water and I use 3 plain Medium Action Rods with 12# test Line. I fish more Creeks they are the real easy ones. I start out with 3 rods doesn't take long to back off to two. One picture is my Grandson at the Creek by the House. We had been Catfishing with no Luck. Told him I could have him some fun. 10 minutes had his first small Carp but he was hooked. I was in the process to move pictures from Photo Bucket. And for some reason I can't get all my pictures. We can Carp mostly. When I was young we would bait Jugs for Catfish and Carp. Most these are out of small creeks by where I use to live. Now I fish by my House for mostly Suckers, Goggle Eye and Trout. oneshot
  17. Pomme de Terre but I'm sure Truman is just as good but haven't seriously Carp fished it. In my life I have only seen two others seriously Carp Fishing there. Lots of Bow Fishing at night. oneshot
  18. 35 pounds is the biggest but 20+ was normal for that lake. My Grandfather where he was fishing would catch much bigger. Some places average around 5 pounds. oneshot
  19. Back in the '50's there was Pay Lakes where a person paid to fish for Carp. And you would see Carp in the Meat Counters at the Grocery Stores. I find carp easy to catch around here if I fish for them they are for the Table. oneshot
  20. Well caught one Trout this year that had been Gigged. Knew a Guy years ago in North Missouri he would drive once a year to Taneycomo would come back with an Ice Chest full of Trout. Said he drives all that way he was going to make it worth his time. But he got a Ticket one time for passing on a hill. All he had to do was pay the fine but didn't. Lost his Drivers License for a year. oneshot
  21. Be nice not so many people around. I'll still fish the river. People need to remember State Wide 7 inch length limit on Goggle Eye. We still need to Winterize our Cabin at Warsaw. oneshot
  22. If I could find a few acres over by Pomme de Terre Lake I think I would sell both my places. The one by Bennett Springs and Truman Lake. Even though I really believe Truman Lake is better. I had 5 acres by Truman Lake but the Guy that sold it to me destroyed it by first selling all the Top Soil. then many other things. oneshot
  23. To fish the river he would have to buy Trout Permit instead of the $3 Daily Tag in the Park. That is if he is keeping Trout then all he needs is a Fishing Permit but he still needs it in the Park. oneshot
  24. Spend a few more dollars and fish the river. Les crowds and don't have to worry about the Whistle. oneshot
  25. oneshot
