  7. Jim Jeremiah Wright,I believe is a hate monger-the attached is verifiable proof. My question for Obama would be why did it take twenty years to distance yourself from this racist? Attachment: Wright married Barack and his wife Michelle. He baptizes Barack’s two daughters and has been Obama’s pastor for more than twenty years. He is even credited in Barack’s book, The Audacity of Hope, and the title actually came from one of Wright’s sermons. I have tried to gather and compile some of the more inflammatory remarks from Wright below. If I have missed any of his most outrageous rants then please feel free to drop a comment with it below. All Quotes Attributed to Pastor Jeremiah Wright “We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye.” “We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America’s chickens are coming home to roost.” (Sep 2001) “The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God darn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. God darn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God darn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme.” (2003) “In the 21st century, white America got a wake-up call after 9/11/01. White America and the western world came to realize that people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West kept on its merry way of ignoring black concerns.” (magazine article) “Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!…We [in the U.S.] believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God.” (sermon) “Barack knows what it means living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people. Hillary would never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a nigger. Hillary has never had a people defined as a non-person.” “Hillary is married to Bill, and Bill has been good to us. No he ain’t! Bill did us, just like he did Monica Lewinsky. He was riding dirty.” (sermon) “The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for over 40 years now. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community and wake up Americans concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.”
  8. I don't believe he was in the U.S. Senate to cast a vote, but Biden did, and I believe he was in favor of removing Sadam Hussien. Biden also was on the Foriegn relations commitee who heard the same information as Bush.I believe that looking at decisions in hindsight is easy and Bush as President bears responsibilty or credit for the progress made.Earlier this year all you heard was the troop surge would not work-it did!Over the weekend you had to search for information regarding the U.S. turning over the violent Anbar province to Iraq.Let me see the Dems VP pick made a proposal to divide Iraq among the Kurds,Sunnis and Shias -do you not believe that would embolden Iran.I would hope that if elected McCain would keep up the war on terroism.Since 911 we have not had a terror attack on US soil.
  9. I do'nt believe the credit or blame for that is Carnahan's but a Springfield businessman named Hancock it was an amendment that indeed allowed for surplus to be distributed to taxpayers. If you resaerch that I believe you will find that the state politicians put an end to it through tax reductions thus reducing revenue. After Carnahan I believe we had Bob Holden and Roger Wilson both Democrats.
  10. I went to the Springs this morning-it has actually cleared up quite a bit.I fished the bathroom hole and bridge-fish were close to the rocks and on the bottom -they were nice size. Good luck!!!!
  11. Troutringer- I am familiar with with the Springs-but not the name of the holes. Where is the spillway in relation to the handicap access or the Step Hole? Also were the fishermen in the water or was it too high? A friend of mine went 3-29-08 and said it was tough, very few fishermen by the Step Hole but was able to catch a few. Thanks
  12. B-Man What is BOSCO Bait??
  13. Gonefshn, That seems to be a lot fish-thanks for the info.
  14. I think my point was missed-Missouri presently has such a permit that allows you to fish year around and C&R in the form of a $7.00 trout stamp. One could utilize that below any trout park -Taneycomo and the numerous other springs/rivers.I believe that $3.00 and a wait in line is very little to expect from the enjoyment that I get watching families with kids catching fish at our parks. My other question would be that if that proposal were to materialize would the season be a year around deal?.After the final horn blows on October 31st,I have almost 25% of the year where presently there is not any fishing allowed for the frying pan. P.S. The concessionaires at Roaring,Montauk, and Maramec do truly a great job of getting my tag in a timely manner and for what it's worth the coffee is only .25 a good bargain.
  15. Tim, I thought on a hatchery tour at Montauk the conservationist said it was a little over a dollar to feed a fish to stockable size for the streams.I would buy a permit for catch and release but would also understand if the conservation dept restricted my use to zones that would be stocked for the year base upon C&R permits sold.I believe the formula they use are based upon permits and fishermen from a year ago.Hence if I pay $20.00 they will stock approximately 15 fish in the zones at the 4 parks throughout Missouri for my permit.I believe the reason fly, lure or those few bait fishermen who release fish have access to so many fish is probably the fact we are subsidized by the greater percentage of people who buy daily tags and are not catching the 2.25 trout stocked. With that being said if 500 catch and release fishermen bought C&R permits that would allow for the stocking of 7500 trout for our use in restricted zones. Thanks
  16. flyfshn I did not take that as a slam-the three types of fishing that is allowed in the park limits the opportunities for fly fishermen both those who are skilled as well as beginners.Until the time comes that Maramec Springs implements zones ,which may be never there will be frustration from bait, lure, and fly fishermen. I would love to have the opportunity to fish with you and cp and whoever else would like to at Cardiac Hill sometime.Let me know Until then take care.
  17. JobyKSU, You are probably right it is my security blanket. I will have to at some point take the plunge-not literally- and start fly casting in the stream. I believe the next time I go to Maremec Springs or Montauk I'm using my fly rod. Thanks
  18. I attempted to send my first post earlier and for whatever reason failed. I am a fly fishermen wannabe-I have evolved from using bait both homemade and store bought to lures and jigs to flies.I have posted my trips -some anyway on Missouri Trout Hunters site-very helpful for a beginning trout fisherman. My brothers and I booked a beginners fly instruction class in August of 2006 with River Run Outfitters.Carolyn Parker was both a very helpful and patient instructor. The reason I have not posted my trips on OAF is because I have not gotten to the point of being able to offer input in regards to fly fishing that I believe would be helpful(the blind leading the blind)to fly fisherman. I have had luck or should I say the opportunity to use my fly rod only once this year and that was at Roaring River and I did alright. While I live close to St.Louis I fish Meramec Springs on a regular basis-I have not felt that I could fish there with my fly rod without getting in some other fishermens way. In my walks around the park I believe if one was an accomplished fly guy or woman he could do quite well-I have observed many people having success. Until the time comes that my comfort level rises I will continue jig fishing and standing next to my kids using doughbait. After all I would rather watch my daughter catch a fish than myself.Perhaps the day will come when she too can fly cast and we will fish using fly rods. I would like to add this forum has been very informative and has helped in my attempt to fly fish-Thanks P.S.-I have seen replies and topics from Rich Looten and was wondering if this is the same fella that attended and facilitated our Sunday School class @ E-Free Church in Columbia,MO with my family.
