  1. Speaking of flurocarbon, how often does everyone change out their line?
  2. I have used Bass Pro XPS for years and have never heard that it loses 1/2 it's strength after a few weeks. I would have to see the test results on that one.

    Grove Lodging

Looking at fishing the BFL in March and they are launching at the Grove City ramp. What recommendations do you have for lodging in Grove? Thanks for your input.

  5. Looking at a new drop shot rod and thought I would get the input from some of the top drop shotters in this part opf the country. I have several G Loomis rods and have looked at the G Loomis Drop Shot special spinning rod. Any suggestions/recommendations? Thanks Gents.
  6. Great Report!!!
  7. The criticism of the show is definitely warranted. Who wants to see some fisherman in the Branson Five & Dime acting like a buffoon and going around town showing you pretty much nothing of interest. I DVR'd the show and they said one angler was catching them on DD 22's. The crankbait he just caught a fish on was not a DD22 nor the color they said he was catching them on. I paused the tape and looked at the crankbait. I was thinking the same thing on the segment on how to set up a bass boat. It was laughable and a total waste of time. I learned nothing from that segment. I also hate it when they show an angler standing in front of the camera tipping his cap and nodding their head with a silly smirk on their face. Just looks stupid. The producers of the FLW shows need to look at their shows and make some constructive changes.
  8. Great input. Thanks guys.
  9. Which one do you recommend as a co-angler. Thanks for your input.
  10. I really like the Jewel football head jigs. Consistent quality and great colors at a reasonable price. I have also recently tried PJ's Finesse Football Jigs. Great hooks with painted eyes on the head and great looking head colors.
  11. Great report as usual. Thanks!
  12. Fishing the White Nov 9-11th and haven't been there in two years after five years in a row. Can't wait to get on the river. Any input on what flys are working, areas, etc., would be great. Looking forward to the next fishing report posted. Thanks for your help.
  13. Has anyone stayed there and if so would you recommend? We decided to stay up closer to the dam because of the high water and heard it was getting stained and trashy below Rim Shoals. We will be there Nov 9-11th. Thanks for you assistance.
  14. Thanks for the input guys.
  15. We are looking at a mid November trip to the White. What places would you recommend staying at? We have stayed at the White Buffalo several times and really like it but it is quite a ways down river. What about Stetson's or the White Hole? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  16. Thanks for the post Bill. As usual, very thorough and informative.
  17. On June 7th I posted a question regarding fishing in this area since we were staying at Big Cedar this week. Well, I had no responses, so I thought I would give my report to help out others fishing in this area. I fished every day the 9th through the 12th and started with a topwater. Fished points and pockets every morning starting at 5:15 till around 6:30 with Spooks, Red Fins, and Ricos with no luck. They just wouldn"t take the topwater bait. Most of my fish came on Mojo rigged green pumpkin and watermelon seed fish Drs. in 16-24'. I mainly fished Beardsly, Indian Point and Clevengar and caught numerous K's and smallmouth, mostly unders, on the Mojo rig. My best fish was a 4lb. Smallie on a point in Clevenger at around 18'. Yesterday morning caught some chunky K's 12"-15" on boat docks in Beardsly dropshotting Ymamoto 4" cut tail watermelon worms and Chompers brown and purple drop shot worm. Several guys I spoke with at Big Cedar Marina said they caught some on spinnerbaits and swimming grubs from Big Cedar to the Dam area. I tried grubs but had no luck. I also fished Long Creek some and the Brushy Creek area with no luck. Table Rock is a great lake and the folks that get to fish it regularly are very fortunate. Hope this helps.
  18. What's your favorite topwater bait for smallmouth on the Rock? What colors? Thanks.
  19. Great fish. Thanks for letting her go.
  20. Must be reading this wrong. But what is the normal level of Table Rock? I can se what the current level is but I must be missing something on the website. In other words, how many feet high is Table Rock? Thanks for the clarification.
  21. Conming to the Rock June 8-13th for a family vacation at Big Cedar. Dad gets to fish in the early morning while the girls are still getting up. What will be the normal pattern regarding bait selection/presentation? Also, is there a decent topwater bite that time of year? Thanks for your input..
  22. Great report. Very thorough and informative. Thanks.
  23. I can't believe the drop in boat numbers over the last few years on the Central Pro-Am. Thjey used to consistently have over 100 boats in their tournaments.
  24. Atta Boy Crappie. I totally agree with your comment on the Numbnuts in Washington.
  25. Crappie: Lighten up for cryin out loud!! On the vulgar scale that didn't even move the needle. Your "Holier Than Thou" comments were totally unecessary and put a bad light on a great post. I am sure the guides have other things they can do with their time besides help us out with useful fishing information. So please, lighten up.
