  4. your blasting down lake with 300 hp and then this blows past you like your in a jon boat with a 10 horse
  5. only saw one in our area and thats near the old atlas powder property in jasper co, they have seen them around that general area from time to time, most all of the property in no trespassing but if you ask and sign a waver you might get in, the one I saw was warming itself on a cool October morning... prob a den area, knew someone who bought a house near atlas and they where told to be on guard for rattlers...you don't hear that said in SW Missouri much
  6. lets see flip pallot...dave whitlock...lefty kreh...Kevin Morlock...Phil Monahan....Mike Sudal.... John Merwin from what these guys say, bigger better stronger than bones....did you not watch the vid? here steve hoffman of in fisheman fame
  7. The eagle rock area was always a big fish spot, cooler water and trout to munch on, I know of several 9s and at least one 10 from that side of the lake
  8. Sept-October is prime time there...also Fellows lake in Springfield has nice Muskies
  9. Lots of rain brings organics into the bays and gulf and take up O2 with weak tides and calm winds this can cause a fish kill or sometimes a "jubilee" where many species of crab and shrimp, as well as flounder, eels, redfish, mullet, ETC will leave deeper waters and swarm—in large numbers and very high density—in a specific, shallower coastal area of the bays. I grew up on Mobile by and got to experience this a couple times filled a few octets with flounder and crabs , shrimp redfish and specs its a free for all
  10. last time I was at RR I saw people using live night crawlers! WTF???😮
  11. it would be interesting to have a tourney trail perhaps an inshore gulf coast delta event have 5 species redfish flounder speckle trout upper midwest like WI or MN Northern pike Muskie walleye could be interesting the possibilities are endless gigging and Bfing goes against the conservation paradigm, it would be like having a kill bass tourney,...
  12. I would love to see and sure many others would want to see a contest on who was best, now we know who the best bass anglers are and someplaces walleye anglers but toss other species in it and who would come out on top? our area could host such a tourney over say 5 days the angler who would do best would be top dog perhaps a point system on finishes of each species Trout on Taney one brown and one 'bow can be counted Bass one of each species SM/LM & spotted this held on Tablerock or Bullshoals also on TR or bull shoals walleye one fish weighed Common carp and you can only weight in fish over 12# Stripers held on beaver and only one fish can be weighed and it must be over 10# would be interesting blind draw on what days and what species the anglers could go for I am sure it would be a great event to watch bait would be allowed for walleyes, common carp and stripers I can think of 3-4 known anglers who would love a crack at something like this
  13. Guiding is HARD work and like most jobs dealing with people, there are clients that are a pleasure and others well you know... Anglers with little time to learn a water are best served hiring a guide
  14. if it kills common carp its bad.....
  15. dang I hate to hear this....I hope they find out why
  16. Just when I read how explosive that whopper popper strike was, mine brain goes back to my youth and trolling for Kings...BTW don't thumb the spool on a run just saying
