I must be getting alzheimer's, because I don't remember that, and thats a far cry from an african with a spear.....more like a Nethanderal (also a european which it seems we all have anywhere from 2%---5% of their DNA) -

some fish get nicknamed just like people...one caught from a small lake near KC was just named "fork face" because one of its barbles is forked like a snakes tongue... it carp related threads bother you there is an IGNORE feature you sure clicked something that was obviously "carp" so your intent is obvious... I don't see the bass guys yatchin about the walleye catches or the trout guys about crappies.... I am sure that something giving you a heck of a fight, you thinking its the next state record and once you see "it" only a carp..forgetting the incredible fight you just had....fish dinner people I can imagine get pretty salty... most of what I post, I write or have written in the past....as far as picks would it be better if someone posts a pic they got online of the whopper-plopper they use or do they have to post one they own? it pains those to realize that the myths they think as fact are not....its like a child who learns Santa Clause isn't real and mom & dad lied to him. like it or not ALL americans besides native americans owe their roots to somewhere else..you mistake my passion for carp fishing as un-american and with that you would be wrong wrong guy dude..don't think it was me who posted anything of that sort... just because I don't think its cool to shoot a 30# carp or 8# walleye or gig smallmouths in a stream shouldn't have an effect of your skill at bow making or their use Ill gladly give you some coyote chunks to munch on if you like...I get called Peta type person all the time yet that would be a wrong assumption....people like me who like c&r fishing for trophy common carp are no different than those who c&r muskies or trout, bass ETC... I think I have posted the links to those studies some are from the USA too....I will do some more research and locate them again for your reading pleasure... I think you and a very few others are overwhelmed at 3 things 1) common carp are not the boogie man you have been told they are, and removing them can't guarantee better game fishing,...new evidence is mounting it may make fishing worse by removing a better food source 2) carp are a better fighter than almost every other option we have in freshwater, and its a challenge to fool the biggest ones. 3) interest is growing here and across the USA..and its Americans..not foreigners or illegals...but people like me who can bubba with the best of them...its not poor people, its not people with no other options...its people who love a challenge and love the pull of a big strong fish -

Not everyone is keen on the abuse "carp haters" are so keen to dish out...many lurk and never post ever on here or even sign up yes I am pretty thick skinned...it only causes me to work harder to further my "cause"... A To gain acceptance of the carp as an exciting and challenging sport-fish. B To become better carp anglers, assist others and encourage them. C To treat the carp with respect, promote the release of trophy-size carp and encourage others to do the same. D Most of all: go fishing, share with others, and have fun. -
dang haven't been there in a while..they charge now?

so explain how this works..... -
I have some links to studies done in an eastern european country where they feed ducks fish eggs and some are viable after defecation....I am sure Ducks Unlimited isn't keen on any studies to that end...not that blasting every duck to keep zebra mussels at bay isn't realistic...it has happened in the past for different goals.... but if some sky is falling "group" on invasives could make a industry from water fowl annihilation you can count on it happening

Invasive species can be plants, animals, and other organisms (e.g., microbes). Human actions are the primary means of invasive species introductions. For more information, see our Vectors and Pathways section. On Invasivespeciesinfo.gov you can learn about the impacts of invasive species and the Federal government's response, as well as read select species profiles (animals, aquatic species, microbes, and plants) and find links to agencies and organizations dealing with invasive species issues. https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/whatis.shtml -
some remote bodies of water have some how become "inoculated" with critters..I don't think someone is dumping a bucket in uncle zebs 1/10a farm pond thats 1 mile hike in any direction.....something as simple as sticking to the belly of a duck.....not going to stop that

The co-founders don't need money...they could just travel the country or even the world living a life only handful ever get the opportunity to enjoy, yet they wish to share the things that have made their lives full, perhaps it is the attitudes of the carp haters that warrant such efforts. I am sure the Lindners got into fishing because hey loved it, the fame and fortune...passion not greed drives this.....I also respect the show of faith that the Lindners have chosen in resent years I can tell you the bulk of Euro Carp Anglers in the US are born here and like you grew up fishing for bass or trout, crappie the typical things most fish for,... everyone has their "how I got hooked on carp" story........ numbers wise, out of our 4 state area I know of only 3, our Missouri CAG state chair is Kirk Stoudemire, he is also the head Veterinarian for the Kansas city Zoo an interesting person and keen to share his passion of euro carp fishing ...the majority of the Carpers are not Milwaukee's best swilling, rummage sale lawn chair sitting, stereotypes of carp anglers of the past The same can be said of most all people in the USA, I am sure your roots go back to Europe...and we have several invasives here in Missouri, you can look them up on the ICNU list Brown Trout (Salmo trutta) Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Largemouth Bass(Micropterus salmoides) are listed as some of the worst world wide, Ring-necked Pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) ironically from China are also on the list...... Biggest prize paid out to my knowledge is $250k in 05 or 06...in the USA...every summer their are contests in the carp "pay-lakes" in on the east coast, payouts over $10k.....too many to keep track of....it should be said its not the competition like in our bass tourneys here that drives people to fish for carp..its a whole different animal...its closer to why people fly fish for trout (and carp)...its a personal challenge, chasing named fish that become so wary it may only get caught once in a decade...commons can live 50 years under ideal conditions....the timing of this relaunch is clear we have grown to a tipping point....so much has changed since my first euro rod I bought from Cabela's all those years ago -
Not if you know what your doing I don't think I have ever gut hooked a bronze back with this method, a lot more to it than first glance would say.its a big fish method, just don't catch many fish under 2 pounds that way..as far as fisheries management well that another thread or 10 soon I'm sure

Hardly They have been active, carp tourneys, some others growing the importing of Carp Kit as they say the timing of a new "push' so to speak is pretty much outlined by their mission statement The American Carp Society was formed in 2002, with the goal of promoting and educating the public on the sport of specimen Carp Fishing in the USA. The Common Carp (Cyprinus Carpio) is one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish in the world and is now being pursued by anglers of all persuasions, from fly fisherman to dedicated Specialist Carp anglers as a sport fish. The American Carp Society is a membership based organization and is responsible for promoting the sport and ensuring careful stewardship of both the specimen fish and its environment. -

in the UK in some of the HIGHLY pressured waters the fish become extremely educated, it takes a pretty savvy angler to land some of the infamous fish like the Parrot that was 1st stocked in Cranwells Lake, UK in 97 at 12 pounds, the fish is now 68-1 the UK record... last time it was caught was in may of 2016 by Dean Fletcher a local a greengrocer...sometime angler will wait days or even weeks for a single bite...weather in Europe is pretty rainy and cold mostly so gear or Kit as they say evolved just like our trout or bass gear has here -

there are more carp anglers in the US than Muskie anglers...but to be fair way more places to land a carp than a Muskie and a few famous faces might be in the crowd..... an a soon to be televised big name bass angler doing a little euro carping.... Can't find the pics but Al Linder & Mike Iaconelli chase a few big carp..and release them too -

October always was a big fish bite on smallmouths....flyrod and live craws always produced my biggest bronze-backs for the season, for some reason spinning gear with the craws was not as productive as the floating flyline combo, perhaps the presentation was more to their liking
