  1. I've heard several reports of good fish being caught in that area the last few days. With the warmer water temps that may be where the bite is! Did you fish below the Long Creek bridge at all? Just wondering how the bite was in the clearer water. Thanks for the report.
  2. Nice one! What did she weigh?
  3. Good luck Thursday! Are you after whites, crappie or both?
  4. I hope this weather gets them fired up! My grandpa may be coming down Friday to fish with me and I'd like to get into the crappie and whites.
  5. Good job man! Beautiful day for sure and with clear skys and little to no wind I'd say you did quite well.
  6. Found this on the FLW website. Looks like their format has changed a little. Days 1, 2 & 3 - Professionals & Co-anglers Full field of professionals and co-anglers compete Day 3 - Co-anglers Winning co-angler determined by heaviest combined weight over days 1, 2 & 3 Day 4 - Professionals Top five professionals, based on heaviest combined weight from days 1, 2 & 3, continue competition Winning professional determined by heaviest combined weight from days 1, 2, 3 & 4
  7. I agree with csfishingfool. Spoke to a few FLW "Pros" on Sunday at Shell Knob and got nothing but respect from all. The entire group shouldn't be judged by the actions of a few bad apples.
  8. Looks like Kevin Vandam is leading after day one with 19 1/2 pounds. Anyone surprised?
  9. Great shots! All of them are nice but I really like the two cardinal photos. PS- sent you a PM
  10. With that kind of report I may have to make a trip to Bull myself. I wonder what area of the lake those big sacks are coming from? I like fishing around Lead Hill myself but would make the trip to the other end if that's where the bite was.
  11. That's what I was thinking! Kind of hard to compete with.
  12. I made it out Saturday myself without any luck. Water temp stayed around 39 and the shad were thick just about every place I stopped too. Here's a pic I took of my pointer when I got it back to the boat after a cast.
  13. Here's some articles from businessweek.com & Marketwire.com http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D9DKN8H01.htm http://www.marketwire.com/press-release/Platinum-Equity-Completes-Acquisition-of-Genmar-Assets-1110766.htm
  14. Very nice!
  15. When I crossed the Hwy 412 bridge yesterday morning there was a thin layer of ice starting to form on the water again but it was gone by 3 that afternoon. Water temp must still be pretty cold up that way.
  16. It looks like they haven't shut things down completely but they're not generating 24/7 any more either. Lake level is at 1121.29' and the plan was to get it back down to 1120.4' before they shut it down. Looks like the generators are running off and on throughout the day. Here's a link to their daily reports http://www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil/WCDS/Reports/Data/Beaver.htm As far as the fishing goes Sunday's forecast looks a few degrees warmer but we all know that can change!
  17. Got out for a few hours yesterday afternoon and fished from Hickory Creek to Blue Springs. Caught one short fish on a Pointer and that was it. Threw a wiggle wart most of the time and finally picked up the Pointer late in the day. First time I've been fishing in months so it was nice to get out. Water temp was 42 to 45.
  18. Thanks for the info, I was looking for megabass baits and couldn't find them on their site either. Maybe they just sell those in their stores??
  19. Does Bass Pro not carry the Mcsticks? I can't seem to find them on their website.
  20. Guess you could say I'm a collector of old warts...
  21. I'll give $10.50
  22. We were out that way this evening and took some photos around the Hwy 412 bridge. If you get out and listen it almost sounds alive with all the sounds the ice makes.
  23. I might have misunderstood them but it sounds like they're going to release from Table Rock as well so that it doesn't get to far above conservation pool. May be a lot of current in Table Rock for the next few weeks.
  24. Spoke to the Corps of Engineers office in Rogers today and it looks like they're going to start lowering Beaver on the 5th or 6th. The original plan was to start on Jan 4th running 2 generators 24 hours a day until the 12th and then cut back to 12 hours a day until the 20th which should put it back down to conservation pool. They said because of the recent rain they're pushing the start day back a couple days. Currently Beaver sets just under 1128' and they're going to drop it down to 1120' in just over 2 weeks.
  25. Lot of great colors that work real well on our local lakes.
