I recently received the below information in an E-Mail from Lisa Schlueter at Westover Farms. The good news it will stay open to the public. ==================================================================================================== Westover has great news to share with you. We are no longer owned by the FDIC, our new owners are Bob and David Glarner from St. Louis. They want to keep the property running as is and plan to make improvements throughout the property where needed. This last month (especially the last 72 hours) has been very turbulent and confusing. Some of you were told that Westover was going to close and become private. At the time you were informed, this was what we (the employees) knew to be true. To add to the confusion, the FDIC issued refund checks to everyone that made an advance deposit on a room reservation, or to anyone who had participated in our Frequent Fisher Program. This decision confirmed in our minds that Westover was going to close to the public. We are happy to say that this will not be the case! Westover will remain open! For those of you who have been issued a refund for lodging, your reservation is still listed on our calendar and we are looking forward to having you as our guest. Please contact us to confirm your reservation. The new owners will also honor the Frequent Fisher Members for the rest of this calendar year even though you will receive a refund check in the mail soon. So, maybe you would consider bringing a paying friend with you the next time you come down and fish with us. We are very excited about the future of Westover and look forward to the upcoming improvements and changes. We will definitely keep you posted! Thank you so much for all of your support, prayers, and kind words these last couple of months. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon and have a great week! Sincerely, Lisa Schlueter Westover, LLC 573-743-6284 lisa.schlueter@westoverfarms.com ========================================================================================= Later, FFM

How Are The Crowds In Mid September?
flyfishmaster replied to stream stalker's topic in Current River
stream slalker, I really hate to pop your bubble but Sept 17 would not be a good day to fish the Current River. Did you know there is a Trout Fishing tournament on the Current River that day? Here are the details: Current River Tournament Now if you wish to participate in the tournament that would be great but if you are going down for pleasure... not so good. Later, FFM -

Catching Report 8/11 & 8/12
flyfishmaster replied to flyfishmaster's topic in Bennett Springs State Park
KSBass, I still use your furled leader on my 8' 5wt rod. I have never taken it off since to sent it to over a year ago. That is one rock solid product you got there!!!! No Luck and I have a lot of the same fishing style. Midges, Midges and more midges. The water clarity was a bit off so the smallest midge I used was sz 20. I usely like to use 22 and 24s when the water is real clear. Heck in the morning I was getting away with 5x tippet on my lead fly. Sorry I missed the both of you guy, I'm sure I will get back down there in Sept some time. As far as my neice goes she was grinning the entire time. My daughters are still a bit young to get our there in the current but I will see in 3 years if they want to try it out. I forgot one story. On Thursday down by the Suzy Hole, it was my youngest B-Day and she wanted to fish. So all three girls had water shoes on. I had them standing in about 2" of water. My older daughter landed a fish so the B-Day girl came running over and her feet hit a slick rock. Feet were in the air and she lands in the water on her butt. She gets up crying and told me she never wants to fish again. I still had to chuckle a bit. Later, FFM -
Well I was finally able to get back into a pair of wader, first time since Febuary. So I took my family down to BSSP for just a few day and stayed in one of the condo units. I started fishing on thursday at the morning buzzer in the "Pete's Blue Pipe Hole" aka High Banks section. Catching was consistant though out the morning not big numbers but consistance. I never really found a pattern that was catching a lot of fish, so I was changing flies ever 5 - 10 minutes. I was evan able to catch a few on dry flies too. After a swim in the pool, I took the kiddos down to Zone 3, I did not see anybody catch any fish except our kids. And this is the first time they have fishing in a steam so they had no clue about how to cast with the current of the stream. I guess the 5+ year old power bait was the ticket that afternoon. On Friday I got out for the buzzer again, and again I went to the High bank area, not a soul close to me. Today the catching was ridculus. I did not change the two flies for two hours (a peach "FFM Sloppy ball" & a sz 18 green scud). I went back to the room to help pack up then I returned with my neice to the High Bank area (again we were the only people there). This was the first time she fly fished in a stream. I gave here the rod an few instrustions and with in a minute was had her first fish on. She hooked 10 fish total in about one hour and I was able to land 3 for her. She was very excited. It was a great day and tons of fish released. We left just 30 minutes prior to the storms hitting so we go out of there just in time. Later, FFM

Garage Sale...webster Groves 63119 8/13/2011
flyfishmaster replied to Gavin's topic in Buy - Sell - Trade
Gavin, Just wondering if you called one of the charity pick up services yet. If so which one did you choose? We have over 400 girls items (clothes) from size 0/3 months - 6T of which 85% of it is name brand stuff we need to off load. We have had one garage sale already where 200+ items were sold but as you can tell that was only 1/3 of all our items. Thanks, FFM -

Judge Timmy has made the ruling and this case is now closed , plus the jury has been sent home after hours of deliberation (and at least 4 - 30 packs of Miller Lite) Tune in tomorrow when Judge Timmy makes a ruling on "Does the Rainbow trout truely have a rainbow of colors!" Stay tuned for details... Later, FFM

mic, Will you be fishing the last day of your trip? If so, you are just S.O.L. Other wise you can ask the hotal for a few extra blankets and wrap your waders up in it over night to allow most of the moisture to be taken out, then you can finish drying them off by hanging them near the A/C vent in the room. That has worked for me one time in the past. Later, FFM

Yeehaw, I thought the signs at the park do state that as well (one one brown / day). Since I have not seen one of those signs on about 8 months (if not more) I do not know that for a fact so I was going off the regualtions off the MDC website: MDC Link to regulations If in fact it is only one brown per day, I should would not be post pictures of the the daily catch. Later, FFM

Leonard, I was thinking the same that there was a one brown trout per day limit, but I cannot not find that fact anywhere. It appears an angler (in any of the 4 parks)can keep as many as 4 brown trout as long as they were over 15" long. I did not know that. My learnig for today is now complete. Later, FFM

Well as long as he is only keep one day all is good. I have to agree with some of the other postings, this person has it down and knows where to locate these larger fish. What time of the days does this person catch them? LAter, FFM

Avs Says There Are Viruses On Ozarkanglers
flyfishmaster replied to Phil Lilley's topic in Messages for, and from, the Admin
Phil, Have you added any new advertisment links to your site since 5 days ago? If users start seeing some thing happen to their PC, you can go back to that date and find out what change was made. I the I/T world, this is called "Change Management". We have to keep accurate records of everything that is changed in our production enviroments/networks. Just in some thing goes wrong, we know who to blame. Later, FFM -
Great report Rob. I have driven over that creek countless times and I still have not stopped to fished it. I may have to get donw there to check it off my lsit. Later, FFM
