Its natural to hold it out in front of you. It is supposed to be a picture of the fish. The person is just in the pic as proof of him/her holding it. Otherwise why not hold the fish behind your back. Nice fish Jeremy.
So when there is 4 units running and 4 spots to fish near the outlets there should only be a 1/2 dozen fishermen in the trophy area??????I guess you also want it restricted to fur and feather flies only too. How about only bamboo rods. And silk line spun fresh off a spiders behind.
Lets be real here.
Next time get about 60 feet out at 50 mph and then shut her down trim it up and push a tidal wave past the boat in the channel. Wave as you roll by nice and slow. The next time they will pray that you keep enough speed to keep it on plane.
Drop a submersible light over the side at sundown. Wait a few hours and usually you will have a giant ball of shad under you. Drop your bait under the baitfish and catch you a crappie or white bass. Jigs , sonics . grubs, or even better net some shad
After the end of May I do my crappie fishing at night. Find some trees in about 40 feet of water on a bluff and drop down a light at sunset. Filets by morning. Just down from gages marina is a good spot. Left side as you head up towards cricket. Use swimmin minnows vertical or net the live shad.
The only good thing was that all the trout I caught fought hard and were fat. Really big guts. This was a 17 3/4 inch rainbow that had moss coming out both sides. Look at all the junk in the water.
If you have time drop some lights down. I caught some big ones near long creek marina this weekend. One was 15 1/2 inches rest were from 12 to 14 1/2. best bite was first and last hour of darkness.
The fishing on Tuesday was great from fall creek down. The big browns were giving good chase at the jerkbaits. Had 2 hooked that were at least 7 pounds. Both were on the rear hook and one made it to boatside and released himself with a 3 foot flip. Wednesday I had 2 trips and we caught fish all day long from just above lilleys to the college,.........some really nice rainbows were mixed in. Jigs and rapalas all day.
Bill,
They bit great for us all day too. They did lay off for a while during the thunderstorm(even though we fished it out).. We didn't even have to bug a bedding bass as they were hitting enough to keep us busy. The smallmouth were right on the bank on out to 8 feet and the k's were from 10 out to 25. Half the fish we caught had one the same size or bigger accompany it to the boat..Slider head w/4" finesse..grubs..and dragging split shots for us..
Anyone who is looking for something to eat should keep some of those goggle eye.....mmmm those are better than a spawning bass any day.
I never have a problem finding minnows or shad anywhere on bull shoals. The lack of food in my opinion can not be the reason. It has to be something with the spawns. Could something be eating the eggs? Silt/sediment smothering them? Comes along with pollution? Maybe some of those giant man eating crawdads are getting fat on white bass eggs.
It would take a full time officer just to police the restricted area. They could make more than enough to pay a full timers salary off of the violators.
Every time I have said anything they just give the deer in the headlights stare and give me the who are you......treatment
Find some wind and they wont be pullled out. Jerk, as long as the water temp gets down, well on this half of the lake..........Jerk,Jerk,Jerk........Well maybe a little slower but you get the idea. Once it gets back to 60 I'll go draggin.
Hey the smallmouth are on in the Dam area. Grubs, Split-shot, Carolina rig. Got out in the heat of the day from 10 am to 2 pm and still did well. 1/2peagravel 1/2 chunk rock. Went out with a friend for fun today. Here is the proof.
