They are actually very different in that they are a native river species that we have prevented from spawning. Being from the hatchery is the only similarity they share. The trout never would have been in the white river at all without the dams. The spoonies are native in the Mississippi, Missouri, and tributaries.

I tell that story all the time! It has happened a few times since with cell phones.

It works but I use the cheap rebels.. They work just as well on it.

I think that the ease of fishing the lakes comes into play a little too. The average bass fisherman cant just head out and catch a decent limit quite as easily here at Tale Rock doing the same thing as they do at "home" lakes. After May especially.

If you are going to use Big Cedars canoes you wont have to worry about boats. They no longer let you out into the cove past the docks and have extended the no wake area anyways. Id just run behind the last dock and throw topwater & then throw a NED. There are plenty of fish up in the cove for you.

Man I really dont get the negative comments? We are all fisherman. Does Jerry make his own lures? Or just buy them like everyone else. How tough is it to buy what everyone else does? Do you custom paint your own baits? If not then whats the use.. This foum should be a place to celebrate fishing and to help others do well to promote our sport. I love going where the fish are uneducated just as much as the challenge of figuring out the fish that are tortured.

I for one would be happy to go catch some giant bass in a managed lake, farm pond, or anywhere.

Try under lights on a timbered bluff. Works in the Long Creek arm. You may have to work around a bunch of pesky whites though.

Is Beaver being mentioned so much because as far as tournaments go it is the "striper" lake that TR beats in the Black bass? I would tend to argue with TR being superior to BS in the Largemouth category. Not saying this because I want em.. Heck I think that the high # of tournaments can do as much direct damage as limited Stripers would though. I'm fine with the lakes on either end getting em. Beaver and Bull are close enough. You all are a sensitive bunch!

Do you really think they would ruin the Table Rock bass fishery when both Bull Shoals and Lake of the Ozarks have them and rank (if I remember right) higher than Table Rock Lake? I wouldnt put my $ either way though.

Bull sharks do not live and breed in the fresh water.. They merely migrate and feed into the fresh water. Im not saying they would have prospered in the white but If they had historically been in the lower white it seems reasonable that a few could have made it upstream and gotten impounded. It wasnt always a frigid trout fishery before these lakes were built.

It would make sense that they were at one time at least in the lake. Once it was a river & far downstream there is alligator gar water. They are in the Mississippi. Which means they WERE at least in the White. WATERSQUATCH!

Switch to a broomstick with an alabama rig and some heavy braid and start cossing every line they have in the water. See who wins the tug of war. Or ignore them and take the high road.. I know which would be more entertaining though. Oh and great pictures!

Wouldn't a little supplemental fish stocking go further than dumping brushpiles? Just a thought...Or spend the resources on additional game officials?

Phil that was my meaning by that airport comment too..(just a comparison) I could complain about the noise but then again those jets are bringing people and $$ to the area and helping to keep our local economy strong. Less people = less work and less$$.. Take the tourism away and that would be something to complain about! Same view I have on the Bowfishing tourney.. I say Bring em in once a year! .. We should count our blessings and just be glad we arent lined with sea walls and bars or famous for drunken rafts of hundreds of boats. The loud nights are the exception and not the rule.

Heaven forbid the Branson Airport ever catches on and gets consistant late evening flights...Wahhhhh Im in the flyway. Sounds like life to me. I can think of worse things to complain about.
