  1. I've got to go try this. I love catching bluegills and have never fished for them on the Rock. I am also needing to go after some crawdads.
  2. I understand where you are coming from. I drive a large Lund tiller and I throw much less wake with more throttle than I do scaled back as it then really plows. That said, at idle, with gears just engaged... I can ease thru an area fairly easily. I understand the dilemma and am doing what I can to help situation. Good fishing to all.
  3. Shallower. Same as when the water muddies up. Less visability (with waves) means braver, SHALLOWER fish.
  4. Have a Garmin 240 Depthfinder for sale. Black & white. Just bought a new color Humminbird so I took this one out of my Lund. Works great most of the time. Occasionally the connection on back jiggles loose and you have to jiggle it to get readings again. Comes in original box. With transducer. Has Speed, temp, and depth readings. Know its not at 100% so will sell it cheap to someone who wants it and could use it. Comes with all books and a VHS tape of how to run it. PM me if interested. Loo10
  5. I have a couple of 4 wgts that I would consider parting ways with as I tend to fish mostly 6 wgts for trout and 8-10 & up for bass, muskies, etc. Frankly I like a fighting butt. Each has been fished with maybe 2-3 times max...maybe not that much. One is a Sage. The other I won. Message me and I'd be happy to show them to you if possible.
  6. That's about the time you want to take a pump shotgun out, shuck a shell into it, and loudly state, "All right, this will be fun...and the first one who hits my boat gets shot right where he stands. Good luck kids!" (Not that you would but it'd be fun to watch them scatter!)
  7. Four of us made a road trip to Wisconsin several years ago to chase muskies with our flyrods. We tied a bunch of awesome flies and hit the road. I knew a guy who was a guide and we met up with him and fished the Chippewa Flowage. Over three days, we caught some muskies and drank a lot of Leinenkugel beer. In fact, we visited the Leinenkugel brewery in Chippewa Falls on the way up. Nothing like Berryweiss ON TAP! Wow!!!!!! I'd love to do it again!
  8. I understand his dilemma...he probably has trouble finding waders that fit too. ha-haaaaaa
  9. This is so tragic. To be done with your float trip and have this happen...so, so sad. My prayer is that this young man was prepared and is now in paradise. Make sure you are right with the man upstairs...you just never know.
  10. PAIN + TIME = HUMOR I'm laughing now but wouldn't have been at the time. Too many thoughts of "You boys sure got a purty mouth. If this'n moves again, shoot that one."
  11. Are the big 'gills doing anything in the larger lakes? Table Rock, Stockton???
  12. Very good and thorough advise.
  13. I fish Taneycomo almost exclusively and I own a Lund; a 1700 Angler with a 75 hp tiller Honda. I can fish anywhere and it is very safe for me and my passengers. You will not be disappointed. Congratulations on a wise choice. I will look for you on the water. Shout if you see me...my Lund is gray and silver. Good fishing. Loo10
  14. Not crazy at all with the new look. Will make do...why the change?
  15. Big fish but not as pretty as the ones I see taken out of the White River system. I know it's probably a different strain but I like the orange spots many of ours have.

    Stolen

He was in the backyard on a riding mower and his garage door was open. I guess someone just pulled up, walked in, and stole it. Major marbles that's for sure. Love for this little fishing network to catch him!!!
  17. Have a friend of mine who had a 3.0 hp Gamefisher outboard stolen right out of his garage while he was mowing the grass this past weekend. If you hear of someone who just "happens" to now own a small motor... how about sending me a PM???? Appreciate it. He's brokenhearted that it's gone!! Thanks.
  18. I can say no more.
  19. I have owned several FlyLogic reels for over 10 years. I have no complaints whatsoever. I still own them and they are now my back-up's or ones I loan to people. I had a reel seat break on one of them years ago and the service was fantastic. They truly wanted to take care of the customer & make me happy. They offer decent equipment at fair prices. I wouldn't be afraid of anything I bought from them. Service is better than most companies on the market. Hope this helps some.
  20. Did you look for the cameras? Bill, sounds like you got punked! Guiding ain't for everyone. I did some of it years ago. Wasn't my cup-o-tea. People think if they give you money that they can do whatever they want to you...your boat...your gear. You handled it better than most would have.
  21. Best drum fishing I ever did was below Bagnell Dam on the Osage. We'd drop a white jig down near the bottom and drift with the current. Our intent was to imitate the dying or dead shad. We'd drift the seams and WHAM!!!! Caught lots of huge drum, some big cats, and wipers. It is an amazing time when the fish are feeding and the water is running. We never knew what we had till we got it up off the bottom, and once hooked, they did NOT want off the bottom!! I ought to go do that again.
  22. Yes, timing is so important! Your experience can be summed up in one word.... "Youjustneverknow".
  23. The first fishing shows I ever watched were Virgil Ward's. It just happened to be on. He just grunted and moaned as he reeled the fish in...like he had on a real "hoss". It was entertaining. Years later, I happened to fish alongside him at Bennett Springs and did much better than he did. My ego got stroked BIG TIME that day. These days, I watch the ones that are fishing a technique or body of water that is going to help me in some way. I too, occasionally watch "North To Alaska". But frankly, my favorite segment is "Cookin' with Smokey Joe." I don't get too much enjoyment watching people crank halibut off the bottom over-and-over. But, as Mr. Lilley knows, I appreciate a good salmon recipe. HA Lately, I have been watching Hook-N-Look. This program shows them fishing and then they scuba to show the structure. Unique concept. Personally, I enjoy the occasional video that both Phil & Bill (or is it Bill & Phil?????) or Jeremy Hunt puts out as much as any. It's fishing in my backyard and it's educates me to be better on the water. The videos of the guys fishing when the water was coming over the floodgates gave me the HUEVOS to try it myself. I knew what to expect and I caught ALOT of big fish after that. Thanks alot fellas. My one request.......MORE!
  24. That had to be a blast! Congrats!
