  1. You're killing me. I literally just got on here to look you up about this. I just bought a pond prowler with a 50 lb minn kota a minn kota battery charger and a new yellow top optima for 300. Only problem is, I need seats like you have. Was hoping you had a lead on where to find some. If I'd a known this was for sale I may have got it.
  2. was everyone fishing the flooded shore? just curious if it was possible to fish the original shoreline?? and if that would even help
  3. how often should the garden (raised beds) need watering? things are looking a little rough in the garden. I assume it is from the cold nights???
  4. I hear you. I am having issues suddenly with my 798 and am going to attempt to troubleshoot it first. That may speed up my upgrade decision. lol
  5. I have one that I may be looking to get rid of soon. It is currently in my boat being used, but I am planning on upgrading to a new helix soon which would mean I can't use it. How soon do you need one?
  6. I will be there once again.
  7. Planted our garden yesterday. Tomatoes peppers corn potatoes zucchini onions strawberries cantaloupe watermelon herbs still have to put in cukes and green beans
  8. The bourbeuse river in st james is right down the road from me. Question is, is the river open for public use (fishing, mushroom hunting etc) or is it typically privately owned?
  9. I am going to have to familiarize myself with the chicken and hen of the woods. never had one
  10. I can't for the life of me find morels this year. Usually find 100-200 this year.... 9....I walked several miles of creek bottoms tonight where normally find them. And not 1. It is actually embarrassing.
  11. all I know is that I wouldn't have been able to give away the rod I built the way it looked.......functional and I do still use it and it works fine, but that craft is not a simple one.
  12. I did this once. Had a buddy get a whole bunch of blanks for $10 on a going out of business sale and he gave me one. I used mudhole.com and swamplands tackle to get what I needed. Did it once and let me say I will not do it again. mucho respect for rod builders, not much money to be made there. that is a skill
  13. Well I have chants everywhere. Last year I could walk a 20 yard radius around my golf cart and have 2 walmart bags full in about 10 min. Zero morels.....kinda bums me out
  14. Is there any correlation between the location of Chaterelles and Morels? I mentioned before I bought a new home with 40 acres of woods. We moved in last summer. I harvested a LOT of chaterelles last fall, but not found any morels yet this spring. It looks good, May apples everywhere (heard they grow in same types of areas) and seems to be about every other species of mushroom. Just curious is there is really any correlation to speak of?
  15. Well haven't had any luck on my new property. kind of doubting they are there. I am in Rolla area, are we still a bit early in the season? seems we are a little bit.
  16. great video. thanks for sharing
  17. pm sent.
  18. Just moved to a place with 40 acres of woods last summer.only been snooping around my land trying to find them. None yet, but is seems promising. wet weather creeks, may apples all around, mossy spongy soil in many areas. I would love to not have to travel to hunt these little morsels. have every other type of mushroom on the property. The chanterelles in the fall are super thick and those are delicious too.
  19. OK, I'm revisiting this again. I can get a Denali pryme dock rod 7ft ML, Mod Fast from a buddy for cheap. It is technically a crappie rod and he uses it for shallow jerkbaiting for crappie. I was thinking it could be a decent ned rod??? I am looking to have a rig dedicated to it for when I need it, when I can't get bit on anything else or when the wife is fishing. I don't want to spend a high dollar
  20. Nice fish. Sounds like a good day. Love Pomme
  21. good advice from wrench. The basic rules of thumb for LOZ that I use are after the spawn you can follow fish on staging areas back out from spawning spots. Then in about June once they typically start generating water at the dam, I simply hop points and fish the current with deep diving cranks, jigs, etc. and usually do this until they really slow down generation, when they aren't generating water become familiar with brush piles. I run that pattern until they start following shad in about Sept./Oct. transitioning for fall. In fall find the shad. Then once it really cools I fish the typical winter type areas until spring comes and fish start to move back to spawning areas.
  22. Would the Fenwick medium light spinning be a decent ned rod?
  23. like mentioned, the impressive thing about this bag of fish is that no A-rig was allowed....
  24. Thanks for all the tips. I am positive we will catch fish. It is an informal laid back derby so no real pressure. can't wait to get on the water
  25. Just saw this thread. the new place we bought has about 12-15 raised gardens and one that is 100ft x 6ft. I have some work to do.
