  1. Just pokin' at ya, Fish. Nothing intended.
  2. Pretty smallmouth. Sounds like they are in their summer pattern already --- some're here, some're there. Glad you hammered out a few. Donna and I are fishing the Everett derby Saturday at Beaver. Got a feeling it ain't exactly gonna be a barrel of monkeys.
  3. Dang it, I knew you were a KS guy, Dave. Not sure where St. Louis came from. Apologies.
  4. Congrats on the new rigs, Jim. I know you're gonna enjoy them!
  5. Keep your eyes on this site. I see dtrs5kprs is back down from St. Louis; he will be posting reports daily and you can take what he says to the bank. You might want to look into getting yourself some Ned rigs and letting the boy drag those around. They will flat catch fish when nothing else will. Good luck. I haven't been up there in a few weeks so I can't speak intelligently at this point. Maybe never, in fact.
  6. Good lord, that is classic.
  7. I have a Gen 2 HDS 5 in my dash (it came with our 2013 Ranger) and as stated earlier, I added two 900 series Humminbirds. I do think the Lowrance 2D sonar is more sensitive, but part of that is learning how to set up the Humminbird. IF I'm not mistaken, the HDS 7 should have a built-in GPS antenna, so no need for an external puck.
  8. They saw you coming on that X4 Pro. Cabela's has em for $89.
  9. You still have a War Eagle spinnerbait hanging from a weather vane somewhere around Aunt's Creek, right? Courtesy of one of your lesser-skilled clients, of course.
  10. Great pics and a nice report. Too bad they are all going back to the bushes in the next couple of days. Gonna have to mosey on up there into the skinny water.
  11. Nice to share, indeed. Thanks, Jim.
  12. My absolute best four-legged friend at present and tied for best of all-time is this handsome fellow named Henry ...
  13. Ditto on 5bites' comment. I have a Humminbird 958 with downscan up front and a 998 with sidescan and downscan on the console. Love em.
  14. Iced tea, please.
  15. I just swing my treble hook fish back to Donna and let her take them off. I can handle the single-hook ones by myself.
  16. Lonnie, the silly thing is like a sinking topwater. Seriously. It looks like a smaller version of a Devil's Horse (props on both ends) with a very realistic paint job. You let it sink to the desired depth and then slowly reel it in. I own a couple but have yet to fish them. Here's a link where you can buy some. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Duo_Realis_Spinbait_80/descpage-DUOSPIN.html
  17. What a day, Bill. Give me a nasty ol' dark day in April-May or November-December anytime on The Rock. Power fishing paradise.
  18. Ned rig, Schmed rig. What a hoax. People have been throwing that silly thing for years under a different name.
  19. Good stuff. Very good stuff.
  20. I'm all about those patterns where the hardest part is not getting bit.
  21. Every now and then there's a good blade bite in the cedars. Usually doesn't last more than a day at a time. Sometimes not even a full day. But those can be special times because the fish are usually thumpers. You can put together an 18-pound bag faster than you can say War Eagle.
  22. Not for this guy. I like my sleep too much these days.
  23. Saw the best sailboat name of all times a few years back at Stockton .... Blow Me
