  1. Sorry Chris... had to laugh even though Iโ€™d heard the story before.
  2. Absolutely... be glad to have you.
  3. Any quality 5/16 or 3/8 ounce finesse jig with a collar cut skirt in green pumpkin/orange or brown with a green pumpkin Zoom Lil Critter Craw trailer (pinch off two rings from the main body) will work as good as anything day in and day out.
  4. Spot on and well explained.
  5. Prob better to release those deep fish immediately than to measure and photograph. Just hate the see those big spots die.
  6. I believe you may be right.
  7. Get better soon. Prayers your way.
  8. Throwing them on 6-pound test like I do, it's a good practice to re-tie frequently. Only takes 15 seconds total to snip off and retie a Palomar. Just sayin. Everyone has their own methods.
  9. I've gone to these too and am a big fan. Bought my first two from Big C's recommendation and have been sold on them ever since.
  10. I know a guy who catches MUCH bigger bass on Ned rigs than any of them little minners you post. Read it on another thread right here on TR forum so it has to be true. ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜‚ And how the heck does one go fishing without a Redfin in the boat?!!!
  11. Why not just glue up several before you get on the water and then just change out head and all when you want to change colors?
  12. Working on 12 years as a member here and none of the guides has ever given me a bum steer. Also been fishing 20 years on TR and have never heard of this Chris Gibbons. I'll stick to gathering my own info on the water and taking my online info from proven sources.
  13. I too love the swim jig rod. Itโ€™s my go-to stick for a fb jig and other dragging baits.
  14. Tell you guys right now, I canโ€™t even pretend to get mad enough to tackle 1 degree temps. Thereโ€™s a limit to even MY stupidity. ๐Ÿ˜„
  15. Same Ned bite at Beaver... very soft, mostly just a notion that something fishy is going on. ๐Ÿ˜€
  16. Tim painted some Predator blanks for me a couple of years ago and they caught fish as well as anything I've ever thrown, including Vision OneTens and the RC STX. I've also caught fish on the Wiggle Wart blank made by Predator. I'm a fan.
  17. You aren't gonna rev me up, Mark. Blue or red side, you're one of those good folks.
  18. Welcome to the forum. Happy to have you.
  19. One last option is to buy the Predator 110 blanks and have your favorite lure painter fix them up for you. Even paying for custom paint, you'll likely come out cheaper than buying Megabass baits. Predator makes both the standard depth and the deeper-diving +1 model. My favorite ar-teest is our own Tim Hughes, who is known far and wide in the bass fishing world for his talents. His handle here on the forum is Hughesy.
  20. Really glad to hear that I'm not the only one who finds that Ray Brazier irritating as chicken pox and German measles combined. #goawaycharlieandray
  21. He cheated. That's an A-rig fish if I ever saw one. Royals warm-up is a dead giveaway. Rangers rule! (In both boats and baseball). ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚
  22. I bought a new Pro Blue the other day but haven't taken it out of the package. Also, I don't know if it is actually "new" or one that's been on the rack awhile. Sounds like they must have changed blanks. Sure hope they didn't mess them up because Quillback can tell you, the older ones will catch the heck out of em. Sure, you get one every now and then that isn't quite right, but for $8 each, I can live with that. Appreciate the heads-up. I'll check it out. Did you get your wider one from TW? I do know they messed up the paint job on their Purple Green Apple color a couple of years ago. The green is much brighter now whereas the older ones were more subtle.
  23. Donna and I are in.
  24. I'm a big fan of the Vision OneTen in GP Pro Blue, Elegy Bone and GP Skeleton Tenn. I know that Babler catches loads of them on the Stain Reaction in the +1 deeper diver. If you want to save some $$ and catch them just as good, buy you some Rick Clunn STX baits in Pro Blue, Black Stardust or Herring Bone Chartreuse.
  25. Yep, that cold rain shut down any kind of active/shallow bite Saturday at Beaver. Had to back out (for me) into 35-40 feet of water and keep our Neds fairly still and on the bottom in 15-25 feet. Only caught four but they all came in a short time. As I said in another post, I spent too much time trying to shove a jerk bait down their throats.
