  1. Heavy rains predicted throughout the watershed for both lakes the next couple of days. Prayers that no one suffers property damage or injury.
  2. I've seen them get on that pattern up there but not sure I've ever done that well. Very good job. Nothing quite like a consistent topwater bite for pure fun.
  3. Very good one, Terrierman. My kind of humor. Short and to the point.
  4. Others more in the know than me will surely jump in, but I would suggest the June full moon, as I do know that bluegills, bream or whatever a person may call them are known to bed on full moon periods during the summer.
  5. Been known to be a butt myself. That's well documented. Return apology extended. As for being passionate, hey, that's a plus on both sides.
  6. Thanks, bo. The one I'm holding was close to 4 pounds. When you're my size, you tend to make fish look small.
  7. Fished 6:30 a.m. to just after noon, when the storms arrived. Had 26 total with 5 keepers for 13-14 lbs. Topwater, jig, Ned and dropshot from mouth of Kings to just above Baxter.

  9. Very cool, lots of fun and great eating.
  10. Compression shorts. Who'da thunk it?
  11. Mr. Flysmallie, you are a distinguished professor of that subject.
  12. abkeenan set that whole thing up with the "out of gas" boat to keep you from hammering his fish. He's resourceful like that. Bet that boat had 25 gallons or more.
  13. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Been a small fish year since early spring. The Oakley Big Bass derby had 600 entries and only one fish over 6 pounds. Even 4's and 5's have been hard to come by. Glad you guys had plenty of action. Sometimes you just have to settle for enjoying frequent bites and getting your rod bent.
  14. Glenn, I think the Ned rig has something to do with pre-Rapala. Don't hold me to that, though.
  15. Ah bo, come on. I gave away my best hole the other day. "A big pocket between Eagle Rock and Shell Knob." LOL The more I hear about folks sawing the sides off our bass, including quite a few forum members, the less I'm inclined to help them catch em.
  16. The fish are using them to call each other from one area of the lake to another.
  17. Very cool, Okie. Just more proof that the little guy is one fish-catching bait.
  18. Ham, you're welcome to climb aboard my Ranger anytime. Just say the word. Got nothing against BassCat anyway. They've been made in the same neighborhood for a long, long time.
  19. Very well said, T. I, too, have eaten bass over the years, although very few from TR because of the 15-inch limit. To me, the clear drawing line is that TR doesn't receive any supplemental stockings of bass from MDC.
  20. Thanks for steering me away from wasting my time. You guys are the BEST!
  21. Got that right, trapshot. One of the prettiest creeks I've ever seen and one of the young teaching pros out there tells me it's full of smallmouth and K's. Donna and I are gonna try it someday.
  22. Point made, Seth. Should have said: Speaks volumes about the author of the comment.
  23. I understand every word of this. More than you can imagine and all the way down to the vision/putting part. I'm just not smart enough to stop the insanity, i.e. give up my relentless/ignorant pursuit of perfection.
  24. Hands down, the most ignorant comment made yet in this Frankenthread. Speaks volumes for the catch-and-kill crowd.
  25. Ham, driven to choose between the two, I'd probably have to pick fishing, too. But living in Bella Vista, we have 7 golf courses within 5 to 20 minutes of the house, so we're fortunate not to have to travel very far to play. There is also a very nice driving range/full practice area 10 minutes away. Still, it's hard to fish and play golf, too, and do either at a level that is satisfactory to a perfectionist like me. LOL
