  1. I thought you asked about worms. He answered your question.
  2. Thanks, Sprint. That's becoming more the plan the more I think about it.
  3. Dead shad flipping? Now that's a trick.
  4. Donna and I have a team derby Saturday on Beaver. I went the other day. Fished 5 hours. Not a bite. Water was 42-43 then. I expect it will retreat back toward the high 30s by Saturday. Lord help us. Thinking of tying on a couple of spoons and going after five 12-inch spots. Probably make a check with 'em.
  5. This.
  6. My opinion is that Edwin showed his true colors at the ramp. Sorry, just not a fan. And that's pretty good to be able to eyeball lost fish to the half-pound. How many of those were captured on camera? LOL
  7. Absolutely spot-on, Mr. B. I should hope that anyone trying to cheat the system with any species of OUR (taxpayers and license buyers) fish will run afoul of Officer Vanderhoef, a very nice gent whom Donna and I met a couple of weeks ago at Eagle Rock. Incidentally, our affairs were in order.
  8. Sounds like a hoot and just what the doctor ordered after all of this sucky weather. Have a large time.
  9. BFL will take way more than 10 pounds, which was the average per day for the Central Pro-Am. Not only is the A-rig in play, BFL will have a heckvua lot more than 38 boats.
  10. Nothing more disappointing than a short walleye.
  11. Personally, Donna and I were happy to see an outspoken Christian guy win. And obviously a very nice and gracious guy. And one who has paid his dues over the years. Some of you may recall the incident a few years back where Swindle ran (on the pad) VERY close thru some boats that were fishing and got his catch for the day disqualified. It was Howell who he ran closest to (less than 20 feet) and Howell just grinned and said in his Alabama drawl, "He ought not to have done that." LOL
  12. If you are sight fishing, it must be hooked in the mouth. Otherwise, doesn't matter. Of course, state law supercedes BASS rules. California, for one, requires that all fish be hooked in the mouth so BASS has to follow suit with their Cali events.
  13. Pro Guide. Go see Duke at Battery Warehouse on 102 in Rogers. He'll fix you up with just what you need.
  14. Heckuva day, Bill. World class. Word has it a bite cannot be bought just upstream on the other side of that big concrete thing. Beaver, they call it. Of course, that's nothing new.
  15. Old Plug, I haven't noticed any brown ones but then I didn't know to look for them. I'll pay more attention and let you know if I spot any.
  16. Grand is covered with pelicans at times. Seems like I've seen them there year-round. If not, definitely seen tons of them in fall and winter.
  17. Let's throw out some numbers, guys. While I think Guntersville is a great fishery, I'm not swallowing all the hoopla about giant bags. I'm saying 58 pounds, 14 ounces does the trick.
  18. I hear the grass is now coming back on Ouachita from the latest Corps attack. Not sure how far and wide it has spread yet, but I did hear it was back in the Blakleys area and uplake toward Brady Mountain and Crystal Springs. DeGray remains barren, I hear. Need to get back down to Ouachita and check things out. I have a lot of good ol' memories from that ol' pond. Need to eat some chicken strips at Mountain Harbor and gaze out over the lake.
  19. Good idea to PM him, QB. No telling if some ****wad troll might take your well-intended info and go blast one.
  20. If water temps are in the 30s, it will take quite a few nights of low temps not much under 50 and days of sunshine to bring it up appreciably. It doesn't happen overnight. That said, Guntersville is full of big ol' fish and more than one of these guys will figure em out.
  21. Will absolutely look for it on the TV guide. Thanks indeed for the heads-up. Rayo was well liked among the people I know who knew him.
  22. Oh, you know that's right dtrs5kprs. Always the case. Heck, I could order one of every color and someone would knock them dead on a custom paintjob.
  23. What color(s) were you using? I just ordered a couple of them in Ghost M Shad and Lucid Wakasagi.
  24. Sorry, QB. Didn't get down that way last weekend. I do know that Eagle Rock is good to go.
  25. The one situation KVD struggles with is having to slow down, and if water temps are really that cold, I don't look for him to be a factor. Personally, I think Christie is as good as anyone in the sport right now. He has a better cold-water record in local/regional stuff at Grand than anyone, and if you can catch those fish in cold water, you can catch em about anywhere. He also knows he let a Classic get away from him last year. I grew up with Mark Davis. Wrote some of the first articles anyone had done on him in the old Arkansas Gazette. Whatever you've heard good about him, it's true. He's a champion fisherman and person. Same for his wife Tilly and his three sons. I wish him the best and I think he could have a shot, especially if there's a deep grass bite. He knows more about fishing deep grass than any of em from the years he spent probing it on Ouachita and DeGray (before the Corps killed it all). Gonna be interesting. Alabama guys Steve Kennedy, Randall Tharp (recently moved to Fla.) and Greg Vinson could be tough, too. The following is just my opinion, but anyone but Palaniuk. Please. BASS seems determined to make him their poster boy. I don't get it.
