It's weird Al but I just haven't heard many good things about those Nikons. And a lot of what I have heard has came from dedicated Nikon users. I had been looking at the Nikon AW1 mirrorless, which is just basically a mini DSLR but waterproof, and now I'm afraid to pull the trigger on one. Good of info on the gaskets. They do require some extra maintenance.

That's the most important question any tournament fisherman has to answer. Sometimes you make the right decision and feel like a fishing god. Other times it reminds you of how stupid you really are. It's not an easy thing and I am glad I no longer need to make those decisions.

Yep I have a GoPro. wonderful camera for what it is but not very practical to use as a point and shoot for fish pics. Have a iPhone too and have been using it more lately just because of ease of use. The water proof cases for it take away from the usability. Have a DSLR with a variety of lenses that I carry in my canoe and I get some awesome pictures out of it, but again not very handy when you are fishing. All I can figure is that I need to keep buying cameras. Not sure my wife has the same feelings but I don't understand the frequent trips to the nail salon so I guess we are even.

I would choose the Olympus over the Panasonic in the waterproof models. I know people that own both and it seems the Olympus models are just a little easier to use. And even though I'm a Nikon guy, avoid their waterproof models at all costs. I have two friends that have bought them in the past year and both had issues. My next one will be one of the Olympus Tough models. Not that I need another freaking camera to lug around but I do need one that will fit in my waist pack and can take the abuse of being wet.

Me and a friend of my dad's bought some $1 bin CC crankbaits late one Friday night at Walmart in Bolivar. I spent a couple hours in our room that night painting them up to match the one we already had with nail polish. They looked like crap. The next day we took 1st place and big bass fishing those stupid crankbaits. 2nd place wasn't even close.
