  1. I agree, it's a costly rod. Heck I wouldn't own one if I hadn't stole this one out of dads garage.
  2. I have a CR722 IMX that is the best casting floating worm rod I have ever used. A floating worm is going to be a little lighter than a senko though. I love this rod.

  5. Not picking on you Gavin but I have a comment about this quote that seems to be repeated on here in different fashions. If you go to a casino in the hopes of winning money you are an idiot. Plain and simple. It's just another form of entertainment. Some folks go to Branson to take in a show and I feel that's the biggest waste of your money that there is, but as long as they enjoy it then so what. I'm happy that they are happy. I'm not a big casino guy but my Wife enjoys it so we go maybe once a year. We buy a tank of gas in Springfield, we stop in Joplin for a nice dinner and then hit Downstream. Maybe grab a soda and a snack on the way home. That is ALL money that we wouldn't have spent in these businesses had the casino not been there. And lots of people are doing this. Crime? Haven't seen it. The thing that's really funny to me is that this country has one of the biggest casinos in the world that a lot of people play. It's called Wall Street. Just a different form of gambling. Good thing there though is that if you are big enough and lose your butt the government will come bail you out. What happens to that same little old lady that loses everything she owns in the stock market????
  6. There are always a few around Bennett Springs and Roaring River. Took one of my daughters to Roaring River a few years ago just so she could see a bald eagle. I think we spotted close to 20 before we even made it to the park. There is also at least one resident pair on the lower James. First saw them nesting a couple of years ago and saw them again back in August.
  7. I agree with the pirate. Biggest crappie I have caught on a river came from the Finley just below Linden. It was a little over 13" and took a gurgler off the top.
  8. That's cool. I like the shape as well. Round, but square. Good idea.
  9. Here's a picture I took of my dad fishing on Pomme de Terre at sunset yesterday.
  10. A lot of the businesses that sell canoes frequently have days at area lakes where you can try different canoes and kayaks. Just call ones in your area and ask if they provide this.
  11. The trout are put there to be food for us and you destroy a life that can't compete? You have some screwed up logic. Seek therapy.
  12. I hear bull sharks love spots. Maybe we can get some of those in there. Cuts down on the party floaters too.
  13. That's cool. I really enjoy the stories around the hive.
  14. Me and my girls used to do it, they really enjoyed it.
  15. Done it. It happens. I'm an equal opportunity basser. Would I rather catch a smallmouth? Well hell yeah, but I don't mind catching what's available. And not all of our streams are full of baby spots, in some rivers they actually grow up.
  16. Kevin Wheat? Yes he is pretty invasive isn't he.
  17. Well that's gross are not really much fun. Table Rock does have some pretty amazing spot fishing so I guess that helps out the rivers here.
  18. Come fish the lower James and you will be loving them. It all depends on where they are located.
  19. I can understand the frustration when they seem to take over a smallmouth stream, but I still like them. There are some nice ones in the lower James and they fight just as hard as the rest.
  20. If you C&R a couple real quick they tend to scatter and stay away. You gotta get a solid hook set though.
  21. Well if you need a good place to practice casting the rec center pond in Willard is a good spot to play.
  22. See you still cant think logically. You really should go into politics. You would be perfect. I'm done with it if you can't figure out what I'm saying, let's just go fishing.
  23. You need to go back to the article and read it with your head out of your butt. There was already an ordinance from letting anyone put fliers on vehicles. But since they are the KKK the ACLU decided it would sue the city so the KKK could get permission. If we have to afford them the same freedoms then why in the hell don't they have to follow the same laws. It doesn't matter if the city feels as if it's a battle that they cannot win, it's bullshit that they have to fight it in the first place. Most towns do not have the money to fight frivolous lawsuits and that's all this is. But we were afraid to fight and a judge was too afraid to do the right thing, so the KKK gets to place fliers on vehicles and then after they are done it's still illegal for anyone else to do it. And YOU call that freedom?
  24. But they haven't been granted permission. There was a city ordinance against this. But the KKK and the worse group the ACLU found them a fight. I bet if little Suzy would have been handing out flyers about her lemonade stand we would be prosecuting her. But the city government was forced into allowing it because they didn't have the money to fight this ignorance. It's not that the KKK and ACLU are the scum of the earth, it's that they make an issue out of it in the first place. They know these towns do not have the money or will not fight them. So these jackasses get their way. That's what you call freedom?
