  1. What a waste! What is wrong with you? You usually don't cave on things like this so easily. Whatever, hope you aren't one of the one that is "never fishing with anyone that wears felt". I just bought some new boots with felt. I did the research but I never heard anything good about vibram so I went with felt again. Yes, in some cases, felt is just as slick as anything, mud, snow, etc. But that is not what they were designed for. But for those big slick river bottoms there is nothing better. And you are right, I have never wore vibram on those same rocks to know for sure, but I can do research and figure that out on my own. Yes felt probably does harbor some invasives, but there are a lot of things that we carry that spread the same thing. I should use vibram and risk busting my butt, but I can still use the same waders, line, flies, belt, gloves, laces, uppers and nets without any concern? Something is wrong with this. And if the entire fishing industry is so against this, and it's such a bad thing to use felt, then why was I able to purchase a brand new pair of boots with felt? You can't just change one thing and expect everything to be a goody goody. But go ahead and pat yourself on the back for ruining a perfectly good pair of wading sandals................oh and adding all that smoke into the atmosphere. Retard.
  2. I didn't say that it was. I was seriously just curious. If there were a 180+ boats and you came in the top 25, then that's pretty cool.
  3. I can bash them if I want, I am one of them. I spend most of my time fly fishing. But if I come to a hole and there is someone else fishing it i will probably move on. If it's a big enough area I might even fish it. But just because I'm fishing a "superior" method I shouldn't expect everyone else THAT WAS THERE BEFORE ME to move on. Remember this? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Well when I'm fishing I would rather have people leave me the hell alone, so that's what I do unto them.
  4. So what place would you have been in? And believe me, I'm not trying to be a jerk (this time), I'm just curious how you did. Looks like a problem between you and AIA, have you contacted them? What did they say? I've never heard anything but good about AIA.
  5. And this ignorance is exactly why you are too stupid to occupy the same stream as me. What a dumbass. Continue on, I know nothing.
  6. Well what if that snagger thinks that you whipping your fly line around is hurting his chances? Should we ban flyfishing until the snagging season closes? Maybe you should just know when snagging season is and not go there during that time. It is and always should be first come first serve. Somebody pass me a natty and tell me a little more about this cavern.
  7. Show off!!! Very nice Eric. I'd rather fish that wooly though.
  8. I've had one for years but all I ever do is cobbler and biscuits. Wrench, I'll show you how to do some biscuits on Saturday. It's super easy.
  9. Hold up there Phil. We have rules about turning topics political on OAF. It's going to suck if we have to ban you from posting.
  10. I agree it's a horrible accident. But it's not about speed. It's about not paying attention.
  11. I loaded Photoshop Elements on a netbook. It did work, but it was slooooowwwwww.
  12. Not in all streams they don't. In the James River they are quite nice.
  13. Several years ago on an overnight trip we lost our campfire grate in a bad canoe crash. Somehow a dutch oven and a large cast iron skillet were able to stay afloat packed in a non waterproof duffel bag. Yeah I don't know how either. We had all our food and all the pots and pans so all we had to do was devise a plan to hold that stuff over the fire. We started trying to figure out a way to build a fire ring, but couldn't figure out a stable way to hold the skillet. Somebody finally says why don't we dig a trench just wide enough to rest the skillet on, on both sides. It worked very well. Nothing like a nice fat rib-eye fried in a skillet. We have gone back to carrying a new grate but we still dig a hole for our fire. It makes a very good place to grab some coals for the dutch oven, and when you break camp all you need to do is fill it right back in.
  14. That sucks about the boat. But since you can"t go out and fish, how about you drive over to Bolivar landing and tell me if I can unload there.
  15. Nice video as usual. Nice tune.
  16. I would say it's close enough and very good. Looks real nice. Heddon frog pattern? What are you talking about wrench? (somebody has been sniffing the octane booster again)
  17. Nice fish Lenny!! But you are still ugly!
  18. If they are not tagged I'd remove them.
  19. Look at an Echo Gecko. I've heard good things about them for kids.
  20. But how many more fisherman are fishing the bait area? And how many are keeping their catch in the bait area compared to the fly area? That's the only way you can make an educated decision based off of your information.
  21. Good luck. Fork is such a fun lake to fish. Been there many times and often wonder why I haven't been there in a long time. Look forward to hearing your report when you return.
  22. Why did I already know that name was going to be mentioned? Thought wheatenhiemer was going to take the brunt of it, but no, of course not. And Dano, what the hell are you laughing about?
  23. That would be great but my free time is pretty much non existence right now. Let me know when you want to go and I will see if I can make it work.
  24. I prefer Kerr Access to Galena. They are well below Hooten. James River Outfitters in Galena will take good care of you. But Shelvin Rock to Hooten is a good float as well.
  25. That's freaking awesome. Great job to the Doty family.
