  1. A couple of years ago I went through a lot of trouble and several months of time trying to get an answer on using a float tube on either lake. At that time the answer was no. It could have changed. I have been pulled out of the water on Fellows. That guy seemed really upset that I was out there. Even after I explained the whole concept, he kept telling me there was no swimming in the lake.
  2. That's cause they are gross!!! :P
  3. Plus when you set the minimum length limit at 13" then you lose some of the quality. But don't worry, there are some very nice fish in that lake. Yes you will catch a lot of small fish, I always have. But this time of year you can expect to catch some nicer fish if you can find them hiding amongst those young ones.
  4. You can't say that here! I'll tell Phil!
  5. Don't say float tubes and strip pits in the same sentence to me. You are driving me crazy. Cricket, I have a gun.
  6. You can keep that kiss from Cricket. I heard he has a lip fungus that hasn't been identified yet. I grew up fishing in a float tube. My dad had me in one when I was 7. We used the paddle pushers, but after I got older I talked him into buying me fins. They worked great for fishing after you were in the water. Yeah you go backwards but you could go a lot faster. I bought another one just a few years ago but the lack of smaller water caused me to sell it. I used fins with it too. Had it out on Stockton a couple of times and it worked great. Well until you wanted to walk!!
  7. You might try calling the company that made them. Their website is gone but you may be able to reach someone on the phone. Fishmaster Manufacturing 4521 SE 142nd Oklahoma City, OK 73165 (405) 794-0800 www.fishmastermfg.com Makes paddle pushers, float tubes, tackle boxes and rod holders.
  8. Welcome to the forum. My only advice is to enjoy the river, it's beautiful. Hopefully the weather will be good and the river will be at a float-able stage. If you are into hiking then you will be happy with the area around Kyle's Landing. Maybe even hike up to Hemmed in Hollow.
  9. Well apparently you should try. Because as usual nobody knows what the hell you are talking about, including you. Get over yourself and either do something to help or shut up.
  10. cricket I don't think anyone gets your point after that. I ask again, what is wrong with you???
  11. I think they should put up some advertisements on that bridge. Be a nice place for a viagra or godaddy.com sign.
  12. Didn't we put up a fence?
  13. I'm not worried about it at all. Just seems like it's the place to go lately and everybody seems to be headed there. Pretty soon the fear of snakes will keep out the sissies and then it will be back to it's normal quiet self. Which also makes no difference to me because it's bass time.
  14. I was thinking the same thing.
  15. Gary sounds like you have everything under control, nice job. I will be there April 1st (and I'll still give you a shout about breakfast next week). Chief, I don't see the problem with having the meetings in Springfield. But if we had enough interest in your area then we could have monthly meetings in both places but meet once a quarter as a complete group at a place in between or take turns making the full trip. (That was a very long sentence!!) It would be nice to also make the drive to St. Louis at some point and TAKE OVER...er......I mean meet with the other members.
  16. The access to the trail that you are talking about comes from the little road that runs just east of 65 between the interchange and almost all the way to Battlefield. To get there you go west of 65 on Battlefield and take a left on S Ingram Mill. Ingram Mill will turn into S Mentor Ave, keep going south. Take a left (east) on E. Gasconade St.. That will take you back over 65. Just past the bridge you take a right (south again) on S. Brunswick Ave. You can follow that down about 2/3 of the way back to the bridge until you come to the gate. It's all on foot after that.
  17. A couple of the accesses that Al is talking about were not closed by rich property owners. It was done because of the amount of partying that went on in these locations. It was definitely not some place that you would take a kid or leave your vehicle. You can still access the river at most of these locations, you just can't leave a vehicle there now. Not that you really wanted to in the past. A buddy and I floated a section last year, his wife was dropping us off. A Sheriff deputy stopped to see what we were doing but never tried to stop us at any point.
  18. Ask Michael Kyle, he's been calling me that for years.
  19. You mean like these guys? :D:D:D:D:D:D
  20. I could also make Thursday work most of the time but Monday's or Wednesday's would be best for me too.
  21. Just signed up online through Paypal.
  22. Thanks for hanging in there Matt, Dan and Gary. The information that Dan shared was very promising. I have seen the results of these type of regulations and I don't see what it could hurt. I gave Gary my commitment and I will be joining this week. Hopefully Gary and I can get together next week. I look forward to working with all of you.
  23. A lot of people have this feeling about MSA. I agree 100% with Chief.
  24. 13 separate posts is very excessive. I agree with you guys on that. But there is no reason to jump all over a guy that is trying to do something. No one had to bring up spamming, that's just stupid and you know it. That's been the problem around here lately. No matter what you do someone has to bitch about it. So Gary, you retard, don't you know that 13 posts is too much. We consider it as spam and you are now a spammer. I'm also putting you on my no call list so don't be calling me late at night trying to sell this MSA garbage. Some of our members are so inconvenienced by your excessive posting that we may have to ban you from the system if your behavior doesn't improve. And for your punishment we will be administering a really good dutch rub. Wow, up until this point I couldn't find a really good reason to join the MSA. But I have been inspired. Gary, sign me up and let me know what I can do to help ALL of the smallies, no matter where they live.
